Stayed at the Hampton Inn across the street and checked in Thursday evening. Got up Friday with a bunch of running to do including the Grandkids meeting Santa at Town Centre Mall, new shoes at Coggins in Marietta, lunch and finally back to the hotel for a nap. Some additional running to start out with a run to Kohl's on Cobb to pick up a new set of underwear for me since my wife missed them in packing. her standing joke is that I always forget something. Gas gauge showed about a quarter of a tank so decided to just go across the street to Chevron. With the median dividers and no u-turns, it took a bit of navigation to get there. Gas was $3.39.9 which seemed at bit high because the day before when I filled up in Denver, I paid $2.89.9 but local markets vary in part driven by State Taxes. Accepted it because of one of the hazards of travel and what else could you do. Drove over to Kohl's on Cobb Parkway which was about 5 miles away and the price at all of the gas stations including Chevon was $3.19.9 or 2O cents less expensive. Later when we got over to Town Centre Mall for the photo's with Santa, there was a Quik Trip with gas at $3.04.9, Something is not right. This Chevron is in the middle of KSU and granted between two interstates, is making it more difficult for College/University Students who in many cases, the extra 30 cents a gallon could impact an already tight budget. I remember back in antiquity when I was a College Student when every penny counted.

I like this Chevron off of Bells Ferry and end of Town Lake too much traffic Parkway because for reason they seem to always seem to be 5 cents cheaper than everyone else. Its an older station but it stays pretty busy. Hobgood park is across the street. The only weird thing is the entrance and exits seem to be pretty narrow. The chicken biscuit is pretty good. Dont bother ordering anything from the broaster menu. They will just tell you to get the "2 Cup Special" instead. Her attitude was horrible she would scream and cuss at the customers. The store was always dirty and ran down. I stopped by chance 2 months ago, I can say it has completely changed. Something got lost in the translation…read more Drove down to Marietta a couple of weeks ago to meet our new Granddaughter for the first time. All of 11 days old. We did not want to pick up a cake in Cornelius and then drive for at least four hours with it on a hot June day even with air-conditioning so we came up with a compromise. My wife went up to the local Publix less than a mile from here and picked out a cake along with decorations. They had exactly what she wanted. The order was entered for pickup at the Publix which is one of the two that are close to where my son and his family live in Marietta. Would have been a good plan if executed properly. We went by the Publix and went to the bakery and yes they had the cake ready but in no way did it resemble the cake we picked out. Wrong size to the point that the little children's blocks which were suppose to adorn the top did not even fit on the cake and had to be packaged separately We were already late getting there because we were also picking up pizza for lunch so we took it anyway. The cake was good and with the joyous occasion, probably no one noticed but we did because this was suppose to be a special occasion.
