We went here after the Orioles beat the Mets last night (8/6) I wish I could give different ratings for different things. The bartender, was amazing. He had a bar full a couple deep and had it together big time. At one point he announced and asked the entire bar if everyone had what they needed that he didn't miss anyone. Didn't catch his name, but 5 stars to him! The bar itself had no air conditioning. Like none. 80 something degrees OUT hot as heck inside. Zero stars for that, but I am giving the benefit of the doubt that they were having issues and needed repair or a part or something. There is my formula to have arrived at 4 stars. As a NYer in town for the game, I prob won't be able to ever know about the deal with the air conditioning. read more

Honestly this bar should be on the a show called "Worst Bar in America". There is construction material in the dining room, bathroom door locks don't work, and it smells like vomit, and to be honest that was the best part of the bar. The owner was the down fall. We watched him serve food without washing his hands or wearing gloves. He only paid attention to one couple. Plan to wait 15-20 minutes to get offered another drink. Then he was rude to guest after he called last call which he never did he just turn up the music. Then a second guest came up and the owner got verbally and almost physically aggressively with. Was looking for a unassuming hole in the wall type bar and found it at Quigley's. We stopped in after the Orioles game (and concert) on 9/15/23. When we first walked in we were told that last call had been called, but then we were told we could come in - it was 1045pm. Jim, the bartender/owner, was a nice guy and the atmosphere was quiet/ calm which is the opposite of most other bars near the stadium. Love the wood bar, intricate wood work, cool ceiling fans, and collectable decor. Happy to have found this spot, look forward to going back! read more

Quigley's Half Irish Pub in Baltimore...June 19, 2016...3 stars...neat little open window bar one block from Camden Yard and the Orioles baseball. Great location for after game or pre-game activity...this neighborhood bar can pack them in. We stopped over on a day game while the game was going on so we had no trouble getting seated. From their limited game day menu, our four had hamburgers (three cheese and one plain) and fries...and the price was only $5.50 for a burger and fries...good burger and you simply can't beat the price. One of our group had a couple of virgin orange crushes (like a lemon shake-up but with oranges...the non-virgin variety puts in a shot of Tullemore Dew Irish whiskey). One of us had a tall draft of Rolling Rock...and it was a bit flat right from the spigot. The last had a Guiness and it was spot on. Peeps were friendly and the barmaid handled everything we needed with a smile. What more do you want? All-in-all a neat little spot on the MLB trail. We'd return. read more

This guy has a gem and doesn't even know it. We don't live here but we actively seek out irish places. They tend to have a charm we love. We walked in the back and seated ourselves at the bar. The bartender took our order. As she worked on the order we hear this "you guys want food!?" Loud, gruff and coming from a guy sitting at the end of the bar with his feet propped up on the chair next to him. Uh, nope, just a drink. His tone was weird and the question was out of left field. We asked the bartender what the half irish thing was about. Turns out the owner is hard irish. Ah, gotcha. This place has character. Small brick building. Nice open windows in the front. However, he isn't taking advantage of those windows. There are plants and magazines sitting there and no barstools. Looked like some sort of nightly event was moving in on us so we opted to leave. It could have been a neat experience but the owner was not comforting. He was watching over the bartender like a hawk. He was talking over her when she tried to explain something to him. He interrupted her when she was talking to us about a question we asked her. Would we go back. Sure, as long as he wasn't there. He made the entire setting feel off. Sometimes it is better to be a silent owner. Sit in the back. Let your bartender do their job after all you hired them. And I would second the review that says 'absent minded and rude' owner. I was at Quigley's tonight and, I must say, things are getting better. First and foremost, there is a Bread Pudding on the dessert menu and it is delicious! Always a plus in my book. The new chef is making a great impression. Also, drink specials are more diverse (no longer just Guinness and Harp). Tonight, Long Island Iced Tea was one of the specials ($3). I haven't had one in years. It was awesome. Not, "Hello, I'm drunk" strong, but strong enough to give you a nice buzz and still be very tasty. I hadn't met the bartender serving tonight, but he is very sociable and just plain cool. Worst place. We barely walked in and the bartender was rudest person I've ever encountered in my life. As soon as we walked in he said "is there a problem?" When we didn't even say anything and had just walked in. All we wanted was a couple of drinks after driving up to Baltimore. He checked our IDs then said the same thing again. "Is there a problem?" No sir. There's not a problem other than your attitude. I don't know what made him feel the need to say that to us when we were only there for no more than a MINUTE. O how the mighty have fallen. Quigley's used to be a sound pre-game bar but it seems as though the joint has slouched into complacency given its proximity to Camden Yards. I wanted to like this place. After all, who doesn't love a dive bar that has drink specials for people who ran in the Casey Cares 5K? After I jog three miles, there's nothing I want more than to throw back a few drinks at 9 am. For that alone, I award two stars. However, the bartender (owner?) was cranky and easily overwhelmed, and there didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to who got served first. I don't mind a somewhat gruff bartender, and I don't expect anyone to kiss my butt, but he was flat out obnoxious. He also glared me down when I asked for my change in ones so I could tip him. So, I guess tipping is bad now? Basically, I got the sense that customers were a huge hassle for him and he didn't want any of us there. He just oozed contempt. The worst part of all was the Bloody Mary. Vodka, buffalo wing sauce, and what looked like ketchup. It was just as disgusting as it sounds, and my stomach lining kept threatening to eject itself violently out of my throat and onto the bar. The bartender kept talking about his "special recipe" and I really felt like saying, "Your 'special recipe' is being too lazy to fix a proper, non-disgusting beverage." As soon as the owner Jim asked my wife if she was just going to take a picture of the Pub's sign or was she gonna come on in, we knew we were in the right place. Great atmosphere, good food and prices and one block from the stadium. A hidden gem in Baltimore. That surely will not be the last time we go to this Pub. We will surely be back on the 19th of this month as we are coming to see the Astros. Great wait staff. Very attentive and quick to remove plates and such. Can't speak any higher about a place close by if you dont was to be A's to E's deep at pickles pub. The irish nachos are the bomb and those orange irish drive ks are money as well. read more

This is my kind of bar - an Irish pub that isn't overcrowded, has clean air (I'm used to the ones where you can smoke inside), and is a great chill spot. It has the type of atmosphere that made me feel comfortable and at home from the second I walked in. Big open windows, good drink specials, and a pub snack of cheese puff balls with J.O. sprinkled on them. The owner/bartender is a gruff sweetie who made sure that my friends and I were having a good time, and kept our drinks coming. He's quite a character, fun to talk with, and makes some bangin' ass fries. Ask for his special version of the Irish Car Bomb, and get ready for a pleasant surprise :D read more

This place is beyond weird, but let me explain my 2 star rating instead of 1: Pros: -Bartender hooked us up the weekend before St. Paddy's Day with free t-shirts AND for our group of 10. - Bartender played some music for us on the juke box. Cons: -Bartender is an odd ball. -Bar is a MESS!!!! There were about 90 cans of Bud Light taking up half of the bar space. There were random 30 packs taking up about half of the space in the bar...on the floor, by the front door, in the side room. -No one else was in there...except for a cop, who was drinking, and then left when we got there. There are always different specials for food, and tonight we had oysters on the half shell with crab dip on top. Perfectly cooked and the crab dip didn't overwhelm the oyster. Was in town to catch the game, started out early to get a few drinks. Lingered around the Pickles/Slider's complex a bit and figured out quickly that fan warehouses weren't my scene. Found this place tucked into a residential area a few short blocks away and was glad that I did. Classic pub/neighborhood bar. Clean and cozy. Attentive staff and a friendly owner who was very much present obviously took pride in what he was doing. My party ordered from all corners of the (somewhat limited) menu and was happy with the quality of the food (fries are hand cut and excellent, BBQ smoked on premises). Good beer selection, ranging from your BOH and Schlitz to the higher end. Interesting mix of people, the jukebox selections they picked went from Phish to indie to arena rock. All in all, a solid place worthy of your dollar. Definitely take the walk from the megabars if you're looking for a place where you can have a conversation and not have to wait 5 minutes for another beer. read more

This place is terrible. The owner is a jerk and the bartenders are always wasted. I used to live in the neighborhood and would go in there from time to time for dinner or some Friday/Saturday drinks. The menu is limited and the food is okay, typical bar food. I had the fish and chips on one occasion and it didn't taste like there was even any fish in them. One night a few friends and I went in there and the bartender was hammered and I mean hammered. My friend ordered a captain and ginger and received a red bull and something. She went up to the bartender and asked for the drink she requested. The bartender proceeded to tell my friend that it was her drink and she gave it to my friend on accident. Whaaaaaat? If you are a bartender and drinking on the job make sure you know which drink is yours. Only one bartender and he was totally dismissive about all the people waiting to order cans of beer. He had no rhyme or reason who he chose to serve. Possibly the worst bar food I've ever had. Pizza was the bottom of the barrel of generic frozen pizzas. Fries are undercooked/not cooked in hot enough oil. Fried fish barely contains fish in the center of the batter. Guiness (one of two taps) tastes off. On the plus side, the waitress was nice and reasonably attentive. Except for the linoleum floor, the interior has a nicely stained wood bar and ceiling beams, and big windows that are usually open in good weather. I always forget about this place because it's a block away from the main bars in the area. This is a smaller bar located a block or two away from Camden Yards (and the hospital) but there are usually good drink specials and it's not packed during ball games like other main bars. The owner and staff are also very friendly and personable which makes it nice coming here. I would definitely recommend stopping in for a few drinks before or after the game. read more

Quigley's is a quaint little pub hidden in the middle of Ridgely's Delight, the residential area adjacent to Camden Yards. You wouldn't guess that there would be a bar there, which is probably why it's usually empty. The owner, Quigley, is half-Irish and half-Peruvian. I've never really gotten a friendly vibe from him. He recently (within the last year) added a food menu and during football season he has half-price wing specials on Monday nights. He's also got decent happy hour prices (especially on Guinness). It looks like it's intended to be sort of a sports bar, but the TVs he has set up are really small so it's not ideal for watching whatever games you might be interested in. It's an alright alternative if you're looking to get away from the crowd of Pickles and you just want a place to chill, but I usually pass. read more
