A great slice of Americana in upstate NY I stumbled upon this track and museum while visiting…read moreGoshen and found it to be a fun filled stop in my afternoon. While it's an active track z there was no activity the day of my visit. I was able to explore every bit of the facility and truly feel the history of the site of America's oldest horse track! Very well maintained facility with a museum on site. The track is much larger than I thought it would be. I look forward to a future visit where I'll be able to catch a day of racing.

Absolutely Awesome Experience!!!…read more Young or old this place is simply a fun experience to enjoy if you're in the immediate area. If you're a hardcore horse racing enthusiast then no travel distance will keep you from this track, however if you're the average (or below) race track goer and you live in the immediate area you just have to stop in and enjoy one of these race events. Even if this type of thing doesn't interest you, it's actually really fun to attend/watch. It was my first experience going to a race track, never really considered it my "cup of tea" and only visited because my young daughter absolutely loves horses; even taking horse riding lessons. We ventured off to one of these local races and we both loved it. My daughter naturally loved it because of her love for horses and I absolutely enjoyed it and have no real interest in horses or racing but it was SOOO much fun to watch. Crowds go crazy as the horses round the corner toward the finish line and you can't help but get fired up by the contagious crowd cheering! Epic feeling and rush as everyone cheers as horses cross finish line. For a small entrance fee you get to enjoy the races taking any seat you'd like and pretty much all the seats are great; no bad seats (i.e. nose bleeds). Local vendors were present as well for family fun entertainment. Various vendors setup to sell or donate items. This year the local ice cream vendor, Trail Side Treats, was in attendance donating FREE ice cream to attendees which was so awesome of that local vendor to do. Food, drinks and even beer are available for sale at the concession stands. Even if you don't care for this type of event or never even thought you'd be remotely interested, I DARE you to try it because it's really cool. For the cost of entrance skip your morning Starbucks and try this place out. Fun people won't regret trying it while those lame boring folks will simply dislike it just like everything else that keeps their lives boring. Haha! I double dog dare you to visit and try it!

Now that the kids are older, I heard that they have events for adults at night during fall weekends. I went Saturday night and really enjoyed myself. My wife did also, we made this event our date night and will most likely be back either on a date or with friends. All of the employees were extremely nice and the farm was lit up and decorated beautifully. The choices of food and drinks (alcohol and nonalcoholic) were great. Each food and beverage option was clearly thought out by the owners to make their guests get into the Autumn and Halloween season. There is a gift shop that is filled with country items and different little knickknacks and tasty bites. You enter through the store, so I would recommend buying your stuff before your night begins so they do not run out of stock. There were fires pits and a band that played all night. The band was perfect! They were not loud and just played the right type of music for the atmosphere. I have been to a lot of outside venues like this one and the bands are either too loud or play music that is "just not right". The band Pierson's had was very low key but were excellent musicians and the lead singer had a great voice and their choice of songs were perfect for the atmosphere. The prices for drinks, food and gift shop items are in line with prices at other events of this type in the area. Thank you Pierson's staff and owners for providing such a great event. Have more please!!

It's as if the average Fair took a dump and produced this place…read more I checked in and this is what came up for the Orange County Fair. I guess they run other things here, but I won't ever return to find out. Pretty much the worst Fair I've ever been to. Extremely limited vendors and just blah all around. Rides were rickety and there was a smaller selection than most other Fairs. They had an antique fire truck exhibit, but it didn't seem welcoming and friendly. Sonic reps were handing out vouchers for "free" stuff - but when you read the print you need to purchase one at regular price first with limits on how many you could use at a sitting. The petting zoo - I felt horrible for the caged animals and wished the animals feeding them were the ones really locked in the cages instead. The people who run the games were too mouthy and aggressive. One was lucky that I was with my son. I understand they need to draw business to their usual scammy games, but there is a line and a limit. The staff in general was blah and nothing special. Food is what it is. If you know Fair food, you know what you're getting then and price. There was a decent amount of food selections though. Parking lot is large, but you're driving over dirt, gravel, broken concrete, grass, rocks, and other little surprises. All of the grounds should actually be redone but the parking lot is in greater need. All in all a poor and sorry excuse for a Fair. Never again. Nothing like other area Fairs and a waste of time and money.
