I was shipping my car from San Diego CA to Charlotte NC and looked into multiple companies. I…read moreultimately picked Auto Express, despite them being $300-$500 more than some of my other quotes because they advertised NOT using brokers and ONLY using their own fleet for transport. This ended up not being true so I spent way more money for no extra reassurance. The pickup was supposed to be at their downtown office location on a Friday night around 6pm. They said it would be easier for me to just drop it off and not worry about timing so I made dinner plans my last night near downtown, however I got an expected call that afternoon the driver was at my house for pickup in North County. I wasn't even home and was running errands. He came back 2 hours later and I then had to spend $75 on an Uber to dinner since I no longer had a vehicle. Drop off was supposed to be on Friday, but ended up being Saturday. No biggie, except it turned into a whole ordeal. I get a text that the car is already dropped off at a Walmart parking lot 30 minutes away from my location. They claimed it was the zip code I provided, however there is email documentation of the address I sent them of where I was at (and there happened to be a Walmart 2 miles away if they wanted to do drop off in that type of parking lot). I was initially told the driver couldn't wait and I would need to wait until the following day or he would need to drive to Raleigh for another drop off and back and get my car in 6 hours, however he did end up waiting. They also asked if he could just leave my key in the center console, but I said no since my belongings were there and that was too big of a risk. I had to pay $31 for an Uber to the Walmart however they DID Venmo me back for this, so I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1 because I do appreciate that much!! The delivery driver was super nice, however informed me that he DOES work for a broker company and does not work for Auto Ex. I had tried to confirm this with Auto Express Inc at pickup when I noticed the inspection email came from a different company and couldn't get a direct response from them. They said they were "part of their fleet", but I guess that's open to interpretation. The driver showed me texts from the company to him and that the Walmart parking lot was the drop off address he received from the start and there were no talks of any other provided address. I would give the delivery company 3-4 stars! They did a good job and my car arrived in good condition.

By chance, I came across Ferrer Brokers, and they've been clearing all my shipments for the past three years or so. They're extremely professional, super nice and friendly: such a nice change from what I had to deal with before. I could not be happier with them. After looking through it and other peoples experiences with customs, I decided it was best to hire a professional to avoid penalties and delays. Only one issue- my car was landing in 3 days. I reached out to referrals from friends and called several other brokers who had NO interest in helping me because it was such short notice (you can receive fines and delays if not done timely and correctly.) Until I called Emad- he had no hesitation and assured me with 100% confidence there would be NO issues. I was a little skeptical, it sounded too good to be true, especially after my previous conversations with experienced vehicle custom brokers. But I didn't have much of a choice and decided to proceed. Emad was on it, quick. He immediately requested the necessary docs and followed up with the next steps right after. Through each stage he kept me informed, and told me what to expect next. Several times he was messaging me and/or updating me with new documents well past 6PM. I did not expect this attentiveness and deliberate sense of urgency from anybody, let alone someone who I had no prior relationship with. I have heard horror stories of cars getting caught up in customs for MONTHS and clients having to pay exorbitant storage fees to the port.
