I've been bringing my vehicles to this Brake Masters location for several years and trusted the…read morework being done. After recently deciding to service my cars myself, I discovered several serious issues: Car 1: Wrong oil filter installed. Car 2: Same wrong oil filter as Car 1, even though the cars require very different parts. I also found a completely loose bolt underneath the car -- same size as the oil drain plug. It looks like a mechanic loosened it, realized it wasn't the oil plug, and never tightened it back. I now have to verify whether it was the transmission drain plug (And no it does not come loose by itself). Car 3: Wrong oil used, and a makeshift "fix" on the oil pan bolt using two washers as spacers to make it seal. No mention of this, no explanation, and no proper repair. This may sound minor, but it isn't. After correcting the oil and filters myself, the cars run noticeably smoother -- and one vehicle that had a persistent check‑engine light (ever since I started bringing it here) is now running properly with the correct oil and filter. I'm disappointed that basic maintenance items were done incorrectly across multiple vehicles. Customers deserve transparency and proper service, not shortcuts.

I have stated the truth!! You CANNOT legally charge a transaction fee on a DEBIT CARD!! If the charge were for more than $44, we would be in court, trust me! I don't really care about what "other mechanics or auto shops do", I care about the law, and what is fair to consumers. People, choose who to believe. Here is the law it is called the Durbin Amendment to the Dodd-Frank Act. Got to be careful, Pat, I have have many friends who are lawyers!! People GOOGLE it yourself! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A California auto mechanic cannot legally charge a fee for using a debit card, as this is prohibited by federal law and card network rules. While a mechanic may offer a discount for cash or debit payments, they are not allowed to add a surcharge to debit card transactions, even if the card is processed with a signature. Federal Law: The Durbin Amendment to the Dodd-Frank Act makes it illegal for merchants to charge a surcharge for any debit card transaction nationwide. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
