I've been using this place for years now…read more I like them #1 because they are the closest emissions check to my house and #2 conveniently located in the Acworth Walmart Supercenter parking lot also #3 they are quick, easy and polite. Just pull up to the "enter" side, if there is a line of cars, wait. When you're up they will wave you in and then give you hand signals to tell you where/when to stop the car. They will ask a few questions about the car, it's year and the odometer reading. Attach some equipment, take some readings, check your gas cap for leaks. Ask for payment - $25 and then your done. The results are sent automatically/electronically to the government and they immediately have your results. I really appreciate this shop being there and treating me well.

Because Car Nutz was too awesome of a name, and due to my now-defunct free wash coupons, I was sad to see the old place go. The old place that replaced the first place (I think Auto Bell). But I was just as happy to see no drop-off in service or options. Primarily I go here for emissions. They're cheaper than many around, currently $7 cheaper. For those so inclined, that'll get you a Venti drink thing next door. Take it up a notch and pay it forward on a top-line wash package upgrade. For $5 more you get the Manager's Special wash + emissions test included. You can get the wash right then or a voucher code for future use. The Special isn't a gimmick: it's like you won the charity-band-fund-raiser lottery extraordinaire. Multi-colored lights make you feel like it's rolller-derby night while your car is getting the spa treatment, with brand-name sounding hot waxes and wheel scrubs. Uh-uh-uh! Foot off the brake and car in neutral, unless you want the "1.5 minute wash" which doesn't do it (not that I know from personal experience or anything), or if you like bumper-damage insurance claims. Avoid the rear-car residue here with a hand pre-wash on every vehicle, saving you from that typical dirty rear window. Free vacuums, floor mat cleaners, and cleaning products complete the package for those wanting self-serve shine. I'll return because we have too many cars. That's a first-world problem so I'm not complaining. It's not like every single one of them is a solid gold Rolls. I mix it up with a platinum model thrown in there. If this thing ever stops being a car wash, I suggest a Taco Bell, because it would be amazing karma to "bring back the 'Bell." Or maybe Sonic with all those pull-in spots. Plus think about how fabulous dine-in would be.

Yelp led me to this Dekra location for my latest emissions inspection. The reviews are polarized --…read morea bunch of five-star reviews and a few one and two-star reviews. My three-star rating is because I waited almost 1.5 hours to get my emissions checked here. That's by far the longest I've waited at any emissions place over the last ~25 years. I came here because the place I'd been going to in recent years was temporarily closed. I pulled up to the lot at 2:18pm on an ordinary Thursday. The time printed on my report was 3:39pm. When I pulled up, there were nine cars ahead of me. The cars were packed in and the tail end of my car (just a little bit) was sticking out onto Collier Rd. It wasn't clear where else go to because the Goodwill next door doesn't want Dekra customers in their lot. The guy in the SUV ahead of me got tired of waiting and left. A woman in an SUV behind me looked agitated and annoyed with the wait. If you come here, be prepared to wait. Hopefully, you'll get lucky like some of the other Yelpers here. This is a one-man shop. I was seen by the manager "Mr. Ben" Benjamin Floyd, who's mentioned in many of the reviews. I believe it's just him and one other inspector who works at this location. Mr. Ben is a personality. He's a talker and we hit it off immediately, joking around and shooting the breeze. I could tell he did the same with others ahead of me, because some of their faces lit up, as well as with others who left reviews (hence all the five-star ratings). He runs a tight ship and isn't afraid to put people in their place if they give him a hard time. He is trying to get cars through as fast as he can, but this location is very busy. This is a tiny place. I saw Mr. Ben had a deal where he'll do your emissions test ($25) and install two Rain-X wiper blades for $65. On-site is a porta-john and a quick hand carwash. I saw two small ladies working the carwash on the other side of the emissions testing structure.
