It was such a beautiful night, my parents and I came and we each got our own pizza. Pizza came out in maybe 15 minutes, we sat and waited and just chilled. It was a beautiful night. I am so appreciative that Windy Brow has a vegan cheese option, so I could be included! I got the Margherita pizza and subbed vegan cheese. The crust and dough were incredible - so fluffy, perfectly crispy, amazing thick crust. The vegan cheese was also great, and the sauce too. Just a perfect pizza. My dad got a regular Margherita and loved it, and my mom got the fungi pizza with mushrooms and was raving about it. My boyfriend got the pig and fig and (of course) loved it as well. We all raved to each other about how amazing everything was. For a farm to do something like this when they don't need to, shows that they love what they do! You can really feel the love in the pizza. We then got ice cream after since the ice cream stand was still open. I got the vegan dark chocolate sea salt (literally incredible, perfect consistency, I love hard ice cream so this was amazing), my boyfriend got Madagascar vanilla and said it was a perfect classic vanilla, my dad said the cherry vanilla was the best he's ever had, and my mom who doesn't love ice cream got the lemon blueberry butter cake and was raving about it. We had originally wanted to come to try the pizza, but when we arrived around 5pm on a Sunday, it was an hour and a half wait even if we wanted the pizza to go. The guy over there was really nice and apologetic even though he didn't need to be. This is a family owned drive-through cookie heaven -- you can roll right up and grab fresh-baked cookies, decadent brownies, refreshing lemonade, creamy ice cream, and amazing lattes. One of the most unique things I tried was their iced coffee served in an actual ice cream cone -- so fun and so delicious! They also have a walk-up window and a super cute outdoor seating area where you can hang out, play games, and even catch a movie night on their projection screen. It's such a great family-friendly environment, but it would also make a cute, casual spot for a first date or just getting to know someone. Everything is baked fresh daily, and they even ship nationwide so you can send care packages to friends and family (or yourself -- no judgment!). I absolutely loved my experience here and can't wait to go back. If you have a sweet tooth, this is a must-visit!

I visited Hayek's at about 12:30 which is normal for my lunch time and I ordered a roast beef and turkey sub. I was charged 15.00 plus tax which is normal. I picked up a few additional items as well. When I unwrapped my sandwich I was so disappointed with what I discovered. I've never had a sandwich this thin from Hayek's before and I've been shopping here for over 25 years. I will still shop there but I may be done with sandwich's. I'll include a picture of what 15.00 gets you these days. Disappointed is the best way to describe my experience today. There was tomato on the sandwich as well. Take that away and the meat could not be seen.

While speaking with him, I brought up the fact that a flashing light in Hayek's triggered a seizure in me recently. He explained that he has to hire someone offsite to change the lights, and that cost's money and he's never heard of a flashing light triggering a seizure in anyone before. I had a medical incident in the store, which was just dismissed by a manager completely. I still came back to the store to purchase dog treats and they were disgusting. The manager disregarded any of my concerns and I am extremely upset. I used to love this store. I will never recommend it to anyone again.

My friend said the roasted veggie sandwich wasn't worth it, either. She spoke more favorably of the crispy eggplant sub on a different visit. Some locally owned places can be better than chain restaurants, but in my experience, this isn't one of them.
