Lively, but not loud. We had a nice chat with our server, Flavia, who turned out to be the "boss's (Fabio Pezzoli) daughter", and a delightful young woman! Fabio sent out a complimentary bruschetta for us to enjoy with our wine as we settled in. After hearing the specials and scouring the menu we ordered a pizza and a house made fettuccine with a creamy parmesan black pepper truffle sauce. Served with sliced truffles, it was a superb dish! I can honestly say that it was one of the best pasta dishes in recent memory! The pizza was thin, crispy and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed it. For dessert, I enjoyed an espresso and a perfect panna cotta. Caroline simply enjoyed her wine. We closed the restaurant after visiting with Fabio and his friend, a well-known local writer Erik Fosnes Hansen. It was a memorable evening and I'd not only highly recommend this local treasure, but would return in a heartbeat if in Oslo.

After trying it, I'm curious what the competitors were. Its very rich and heavy, in taste and weight (both on the slice and in the stomach). Prices were reasonable, by Oslo standards. We ate here due to a schedule crunch and other places not being open yet, but enjoyed the experience. The wafting of rapid Italian in the kitchen gave a nice vibe, and lets you know that the staff making the food knows what it should be like for Italian cuisine. It's an interesting experience, giving you a view of Norwegian taste with the non-traditional options.
