Phlebotomist Amanda is the first phlebotomist, in my many years of getting drawn, that inserted a standard gauge needle without me feeling a thing. She is also extremely kind, we even got to chat a little about life. Notice how many of the negative reviews resort to pointing people out to by race and ethnicity, on completely unfounded complaints too. You get there, check in on your phone or kiosk, they call you in to verify your name DOB, and send you on your way. If during this short of an interaction you run into any social "problems" that says something about YOU. Now if your complaint is about Quest Diagnostics as a corporation completely getting rid of the human check-in process then yes, I wholeheartedly agree with you. They have essentially betrayed their core demographic (the aging population) for profit. This is your loved ones, the disabled, the grandparents, the parents stranded with no one to help or speak to. How evil is it that they even have the 'blind or vision impaired' announcement on the TV (which only plays every few minutes by the way) that tells BLIND patients to navigate to the kiosk and swipe with 3 fingers on the tablet. Are the suits mentally all there?! Surely this violates the ADA and the DOJ should crack down on this no? read more

If you don't have an appointment, DO NOT come here as a walk in, especially in the morning, if fasting. Their computer prioritizes appointments and if they are booked solid, as a walk in, you will wait a minimum of 2 hours. We are going on 2.5hrs now. but we are top of the walk in list. read more

I've been going to Quest on Westminster Ave. in Seal Beach for years, with the same diagnostic code for blood work. I've never been charged a copay and I've never been asked for a credit card. Today I was. The phlebotomist said it would be a $15 hold on my credit card in case the insurance company charged me a copay. She couldn't tell me what it was for. I don't have a copay on lab services. I later received an email telling me I had a $59 hold on my account, nearly four times what I was told. Now I'm upset. I called corporate and the first level CSR couldn't help me. I asked for her supervisor. She said her system doesn't show anything and wouldn't for 7-10 days. I explained the situation again...I was potentially charged nearly four times as much as I was quoted. I don't have a lab test copay. I've never been asked for a credit card before, nor have I ever potentially been charged. This seems like a scam to me. Not going back to Quest. Now read my review about the filthy office including mold in the water fountain. I noticed a ton of dust on the partition. I needed to give a urine sample so I went to the water fountain. They don't supply cups so I put my face down and saw mold in the drain. I guess paper cups are too expensive. The bathroom is filthy. There are marks everywhere from the urine cups which have been there for days, weeks or months. My appointment was early morning so they weren't from today. See the top of the toilet seat liner dispenser. The surfaces are filthy...see the door. All of the floors are filthy with dirt and debris in every corner. Find another lab , or at least a better location. Very poor cleanliness practices for a medical facility. read more

I left a detailed comment in the space provided saying how dirty (FILTHY) and poorly maintained the patient care area was. Came into this Quest cause it was the closest to me. I haven't had my blood drawn in over 10 years so didn't really have many expectations. I had an appointment scheduled and the wait was less than 10 minutes. I had Brenda as my technician that drew my blood. Brenda was so kind and gentle, very easy to have conversation with which was helpful to distract me from the 19 tubes of blood they were pulling!! She accessed my vein in one try and was extremely skilled. This review is mainly for her kindness and professionalism!! This was by far the best experience I have ever had getting my blood drawn. Quest has an app where you can easily pick you appointment fill out insurance info, etc. if you want to wait and walk in you can do that as well. There is no more front desk. You walk in follow the prompts on the kiosk and you are seen within 10 mins. I was in and out in a total of 15 min. This includes me trying to give urine. (I forgot to drink water beforehand). lol. I wish I could leave zero stars. I was happy until about 8 months ago. The phlebotomist tied tourniquet too tight and bruised me up pretty bad. She didn't seem to know how to draw blood. She was very rude to me. I called the corporate office. They promised me a call back and never called. I went to the lab one other time and it was fine. The automated check in process never seems to work. There is no person at the front to talk to. You have to wait for somebody to happen to come into the waiting room or knock on the door. I had my appointment on Friday at 4pm, by 4:10pm I was going through the process of giving my blood and urine samples. I was assisted by Avis the phlebotomist, who was friendly and good with drawing blood, which I hate, so big love to Avis for making it quick and easy. The location is easy to find and affords plenty of parking. I suggest you make an appointment and preload your insurance detail, that way you walk in, hand them your pre-printed slip and then immediately have a seat while you wait. PRO TIP: Based on the new norm (COVID19) there are no magazines, or interesting television shows to watch. So bring some reading material, or be prepared to do something on your phone. read more

This lab has become a joke. I was here yesterday afternoon just for a drop off & they said they weren't taking anymore drop offs. They said to come back in the morning as a standby & to check in at the kiosk. The girl said that if I told one of the staff members that it was a standby and only for a drop off, that it would be quicker and I wouldn't have to wait in line very long, that they would squeeze me in right away. I got there before they opened so that I was the first one in line. I checked in and when I told the girl that it was a standby just for drop off, she said it made no difference that drop offs are still supposed to make appointments and that I would have to wait my turn and they would call me in as a regular walk in. The girl said the staff from the afternoon before should've told me that. If you have a drop off only, you shouldn't have to wait in a long line of people just to drop off. I go to Kaiser for my own personal stuff, and they're a lot quicker and you don't have to wait just to drop something off once you check in. read more

I was scared to go to the doctor during COVID-19 but my doctor did the whole "If you want a new prescription for your daily medication you have to have your annual physical". After complaining he agreed to a telemed appointment which worked out great but I still had to get a blood test. I have to say, being scared coming here was pointless. I was truly impressed by their setup here and it's honestly one of the safest places I've seen during the pandemic. Inside they had chairs spaced out against the perimeter of the wall with way more than 6 feet in between. The middle of the room was left open. They only allow people in when chairs are vacant. Rest wait outside spaced 6 feet apart. Patients and employees were following the rules and everybody was in a pleasant mood. Between people using the KIOSK to check-in a staff member would sanitize the kiosk screen and the area around it. Several bottles of hand sanitizers available and even gloves. As a walk-in patient it did take a lot longer than normal since I think they were only working on one patient at a time. After an hour of waiting I was asked to provide my info and my lab order was not in their computer. Feeling defeated the lady at the front desk called my doctor and got the lab order right then and there which made me very happy since I didn't have to wait any longer. The phlebotomist was painless and I had zero bruising. For a blood lab experience this was a great one. To save time you can make an appointment online. I only went without one because I knew I'd dwell and procrastinate unless I just went in and got it over with. read more

After checking in at 2:42 and waiting 15 minutes, an angry woman emerged from the back and began yelling at me that they don't accept walk ins after 2:40. This was not posted anywhere and the location closes at 3 pm. They were empty, mind you, and clearly waited to the last minute to let me know this. I am so fearful of the trauma and pain he would have caused me had I not told him not to touch me and walked out trembling. Amanda the African American lady is by far the lowest IQ lady I've ever met at a work environment. I have on video of her yelling at me, I have a video of her also denying everything. On the same video it shows her yapping unprofessionally in the back. Any manger or owner would have her removed on how she talks and doesn't respect people. It upsets me how these ladies operate all frazzled. Imagine coming in at 2:21 on record, having Amanda come out and conforming you are there, and yet I'm still getting skipped by walk ins I see coming in. A Mexican lady with short blonde hair comes out and says we will see you all even after closing which is 3pm. So now I'm waiting till 2:57 with all these people skipping me .. the Mexican short hair blonde lady comes out and tells me rudely I can't be seen it's 3pm. I was in shock to see them arguing in the back because they missed me. None of them wanted to work on me even tho I was there since 2:21. Destiny came out and told me she would do it since she is the only one that cared. If I was manager I'd have Amanda removed. Let me start by saying the staff here is always awesome. Really kind, thorough, and professional. I give them five stars. The waiting room is tidy, so no problems there. My complaint is that there is water damage and mold visible. This isnt safe anywhere, But it's especially concerning in a medical environment Where I am having blood drawn to treat me for illness. Update: I returned for blood work today and evidently the solution to the mold problem was to put in Glade plug-ins or some other air freshener and make the place smell like a chemical piña colada. A medical lab should be clean and healthy and be accessible to patients with disabilities and medical conditions such as asthma, COPD, and chemical sensitivities. As a result of the lack of accessibility and the unhealthy environment, I have written to quests patient advocacy and I am reporting the lab to the AMA and ADA. read more

I have been to many, many labs in my lifetime. Most are stuffy, loud, have long wait times and the patients are so glad to leave. The phlebotomist in the first office made my visit quite pleasant. She is the sweetest, most accommodating person who truly likes her clientele. I forgot my lab paperwork and ended up being late, due to needing to go back home. I've been sick and hospitalized and she knew I wasn't feeling well. She helped get the lab work done, even though the doctor made a few errors.
