Several years ago I discovered this location. I can park in front & walk-in. I usually don't wait too long. Will is the BEST! Yesterday he patiently tried to find some blood, but I was very dehydrated. He told me to return this morning and suggested I drink water instead of my favorite iced tea. A chaotic and uncaring lab. Systems and staff were terrible. Registration stations not working and buggy. Don't drop in here and try to schedule appointments elsewhere. I had the same experience as other reviewers here. Waiting hours and then staff went on lunch early, throwing you out. I come to this office for a lab draw every other week and it's a 3 minute process. She made us wait 25 minutes. Love this place! Plenty of parking in the shared lot, comfortable waiting room socially distanced and so convenient with the touchpad to check in. I came on Saturday morning as a walk-in right when it opened at 8 am and was seen immediately. My mother did the same thing the prior week and had to wait a few minutes because there was one person ahead of her. The staff is excellent! So friendly, with excellent skills. I have extremely small veins and sometimes have issues getting my blood drawn from other places, but the gentleman here did it perfectly on the first try with no pain. Yay! read more

Quest is atrocious. First, there's no receptionist at any of their locations anymore - especially this one. You walk in and the only thing greeting you is an iPad with a poorly designed app. The technicians are trained to ignore you and they're incredibly rude if you try to ask for help. Did I mention there's only ONE iPad. So if you walk in and there's someone else using it, you have to wait for them to finish signing in. Hang on a sec. Most people that are going to visit a Quest Diagnostics lab are elderly people on Medicare. The last people you want to push a tablet to and say "lol good luck". But even if you're a computer engineer like I am, trying to sign in with the tablet is a pointless experience because the ID card scanner on them (which you're required to use) DOES NOT WORK. So once you've fucked around with that tablet for a few minutes, you learn that it automatically rejects your sign-in if you're 10 minutes past the appointment time. Ok, let me tell you about this location. There are no wheelchair parking spaces anywhere near the entrance. The building is an old building, the door is narrow and spring loaded so it slams shut on you. And there's a ramp to get up into the lobby. So once you've arrived 10 minutes late because you can't get any reasonable parking, and once you've wasted another few minutes with their iPad trying to sign in, you get to join the "wait list". In our case, the technician kicked us out because they went to lunch. We had to wait outside in the cold for an hour. When they returned my mom was to cold and dehydrated to get a good draw. Ya know, I hope the executive board in charge of Quest all gets this kinda treatment when they're old and/or get a disability. Then they can have a taste of their own atrocious customer service and be treated like a piece of trash. Ya know, I get it. Their technicians treat everyone like crap because they're overworked, underpaid, and the customers expect too much of them. I'm sure the technician was pissed off thinking I wanted him to draw my mom's blood instead of going to lunch. I get it. But it's not their fault. It's the management's fault for running a skeleton crew, not having lunch hour coverage (a time that you'd expect a place like this to be very busy), and trying to only have a single stupid iPad as their only way to communicate with customers. I used to use this facility all the time, not anymore. They will rip you off I was having surgery, and needed labs done, I was able to schedule a week before, because of COVID-19 this was the earliest I was all set to have blood drawn, it was at that point technician one, said I had to pay over $900 claiming I did not have insurance. I was baffled I have insurance. Technician one kept pointing at the computer and telling me I did not have insurance, I said "your kidding, right?" "You've taken my labs before" he kept looking at the computer and saying over and over I didn't have insurance. Technician number 2 (she was in training) was so embarrassed, and kept apologizing to me, technician one said I could pay or go somewhere else I had to have my lab, I could not postpone my surgery, I was forced to pay, I was furious, and humiliated. I called Quest right afterwards, they apologized, didn't know why that happened, confirmed my refund, and noted my complaint-instructed to call in 2 weeks, for it to go through the process. I called as instructed, quest confirmed I would receive a refund, and it could take up to 90 days. it's been over 90 days, no refund- No call back. I've called 3 time, and received the run around. I've since found another lab that has been doing my lab work, they are wonderful, paperwork submitted correctly, etc Today-I received s bill from quest????? ARE THEY KIDDING ME? This organization is a joke, I will contact my attorney to get my money they swindled from me. Stay away from this organization, they will lie and tip you off read more

I had been a loyal customer here for many years, until my last visit, which went badly wrong. Making an appointment is not always easy, but in the past I was able to have them do their thing as a walk-in. Sure, sometimes I waited a while, but that was okay with me. This last time, I did the idiotic check-in on the screen they provide, and my physicians had sent in the lab order, so I waited. And waited. And waited. Another lady was there who was in the same situation, so at one point one of the technicians came out and I asked him if they were going to take us, and he responded in what I can only describe as an angry, snotty tone, and told us if we didn't have an appointment, we couldn't be seen. I asked about an appointment for the next day, and he said they didn't have any available. I took it to mean just get out of here, and don't come back. I have been able to go see LabCorp, and they are now my go-to lab company. They were very nice, and I was actually able to make an appointment on line, and there were human beings there to talk to when you went in. read more

I highly recommend making an appointment before coming here because you can easily check in with the link they text you to your phone number. I didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes. Also, make sure you come with your lab orders so the process is faster. Rosaline or Rosaly, I think was her name, was a great technician. While she was drawing my blood, she made conversation with me to ease my mind a bit. I was out of there within 20 minutes. I recommend this lab. read more

I have a standing electronic order with this office and I was treated like cattle this morning at 8;30a.m., read a script to me by the apathetic women behind the glass and told to leave. Never been more humiliated in my life. Technician who used to be there, (wasn't today for some reason) 'Willy', always took great care of me and never treated me so unprofessionally. This location (over at the Town & Country shopping center) offers routine blood and urine testing. Recommend making an appointment first because they have limited staffing and no receptionist. When you come in you have to scan your license and insurance card - this maybe a challenge for some like my dad who I brought here. The tech was pleasant and patient as was the other person who came to assist with locating a vein to draw the blood. Limited hours here and not much space to sit when it fills up. Worst blood draw experience I ever had. It hurt when the needle went in. After a few days, there was a large black and blue mark where the needle was inserted into my left arm. (see photo). The mark lasted for over a week and was painful. I have been going to this location for many years and it has always been a great experience because the young lady who drew blood was very good and it was always painless and never left a mark. However, this last time it was a different person. I did not get his name, but he was an older Asian man, so I do not recommend getting a blood draw from him. I waited over 90 minutes and was not served. I went to the website the day before and there was only 1 appointment left in all of the south bay. I made that appointment but when I got to Quest, they did not have me in their system. I registered as a walk in. There is no receptionist - only a self serve kiosk. Service is nonexistent at Quest. I tried to explain to the staff in the few seconds that they appeared in the waiting room but they were completely uncaring. Do not go to Quest if you have a choice. Thursday morning (4/22), my spouse attempted to have blood drawn at this facility at 7:45am. The reason he drove there so early was because their voicemail says they accommodate walk-ins. When my spouse arrived, there were no other people in lab, except for one technician. He told him the doctor sent the orders and they are accessible in the system. The technician refused to accommodate the blood draw even though there were no other waiting patients. The technician was smug and told my spouse they stopped taking walk-ins a month and a half ago even though their current voicemail says they do and at that specific location. In over a month and a half, they did not update their outgoing voicemail AND there was no way to speak to a person when called. Had a live person answered their phones, I would have known of their change in blood draw appointments. Terrible. read more

Nobody was here and she could not accommodate me because I was 5 minutes late to my appointment. On their door it says the walk in guidelines, and how you can have a seat and be accommodated. However Sharon said we don't do walk ins, only appointments and you're 5 min late. I asked her if I can wait , or wait in case somebody doesn't show up to their appointment and she yelled and said no, we don't do walk ins even if they don't show up. Crazy! Not sure why this place gets slammed on reviews and maybe I got lucky, but my experience here was absolutely perfect. Booked an appointment for bloodwork online. They confirmed via email a few times. My doctor sent a fax and email for the specific bloodwork request. I called the office to confirm that they got it. All good. Showed up to my appointment masked-up and there was no line. Everyone inside was wearing a mask and respectful of social distancing. Signed in. Got called in moments later. Bloodwork was easy and quick! I have been going to this location for many years every three months for a fasting blood test, so it has to be in the morning. Sometimes I have an appointment, and other times, I walk-in and wait. There are ALWAYS other walk-ins coming in as well. This time, I had forgotten I had an appointment with a dr. next week and couldn't get a morning appt., so decided to go in this morning and brought something to read in case I had to wait. I checked in, and it said that I could be a walk-in on the computer, but might have to wait. Of course. I knew this. I sat down and two patients walked out a couple minutes apart. They have a TV in there that said they were servicing 0 patients and didn't have another appointment coming in for 20 mins. I thought I was in luck because my appt is always short. A youngish looking woman with curly brown hair comes out and tells me they can't see me because I don't have an appointment. I told her the schedule says they have nobody for 20 mins. She said they are only taking appointments. I told her I'd been there every three months for years to have this test, many times as a walk-in, and there have always been other walk-ins, and she denied it. Outright denied that that happened! She was extremely rude about it and laughed. I asked if she was calling me a liar and she LAUGHED. I don't know how long she's been there, but the signs haven't changed to say they only take appointments, nor did the check-in machine. Is this common for her to laugh and be rude to older women? She should not be working around the public, nor working at all if she doesn't want to work. I had to reschedule my doctor's appointment and make an appt. at Quest's San Pedro facility due to this rude woman. It's amazing. You get one bad employee, and people go elsewhere. I always requested that my doctor give me blood orders for Quest since it was so convenient for me. Next appointment, I'm going to ask for them to be with a different company. If this is how Quest wants things, I don't want them. read more

My doctor faxed my lab orders here. I tried calling to see if they were received but couldn't speak to a person. I went in and there was no one staffing the front desk. I could hear employees chatting in another room. I tried calling out but no one came. I knocked on the door no one answered. Finally an employee walked in the front door. I asked him to check for my orders. He said they weren't received. I called my doctor to confirm they faxed it to the right number, which they had. They even had received a confirmation. They still could not find my orders and could care less. Worst customer service ever. I will have my doctor fax the orders somewhere else. read more

No, "oh you have to wait in stand by and see if we can fit you in", No, "oh let me help you find an appointment or another location that can serve you". Nope. Nothing. Just a salt and pepper haired gentleman looking at me like I have 3 heads for trying to get my blood drawn and sassily telling me, "we don't take walk ins". Unfortunately, this corporation has forgot that patients going to have their blood drawn, aren't usually there because they are healthy. And maybe they are going through something they can't even imagine. Maybe this interaction will leave the person crying in the parking lot for some time. I should also say, that this is not the first Quest that had turned me away. So, please, as a fellow healthcare professional, I implore you to rethink your business model and your approach to patients. I have to go to this specific lab to fulfill the pre-paid requisition that I have, otherwise I would take my business, as I have in the past to LabCorp. I did call the organization that sent me, and put in a recommendation that they partner with a lab that will actually serve their patients. The phlebotomist (I forget her name but she has lived in Taiwan before...(who drew my blood was FANTASTIC! If you live on the Hill, this is the best spot to get lab work done AS LONG AS YOU HAVE AN APPOINTMENT AND A COPY OF YOUR LABS. These two points are critical. There are two friendly and helpful lab techs in the morning, but only one stays through the end of the day (she is lovely). There is no other staff. I make an appointment, take a copy of my labs and am in and out in about 20 minutes. Great spot! read more
