As a first time home buyer, finding the right home was a difficult task. Knowing that I am not very handy in any way shape or form I was nervous that after I purchased a home I wouldn't be able to handle the responsibility. I was referenced to HOMESPEC after my realtor praised them for being extremely thorough. After contacting HOMESPEC, I spoke with Ross Prevett, who on the first phone call, eased my tension after an extremely formative first conversation. Just by speaking with him that first time, I felt like I was in very good hands. He assured me that he works for the Buyer, first and foremost. Scheduling the inspection was simple. Nervously pulling up to the house, not knowing what to expect, Ross was already there ready to go and making sure the grounds were safe. Right then and there, I knew that I picked the right company for this inspection. It was such a pleasure to see somebody who cares about what he does as much as Ross. Before he got to the house, he knew what had to be tackled first and was full prepared just by gathering the initial information. Without HOMESPEC, I would have been left with a mess on my hands between beams in the basement, windows being replaced, and water well issues, Ross really saved me thousands upon thousands of dollars. I can see that he enjoys what he does and puts pride in making the buyer feel comfortable. I would never purchase another home without HOMESPEC. Ross follows through incredibly. Even after the inspection, he kept his phone available and texted me through any issues that he wanted me to overcome. I felt so lucky to have someone as patient as he was. Most companies do their job, get paid and you never hear from them again. However, weeks after the inspection, up until closing, Ross has been in constant contact making sure things went as planned. I never knew how detailed a home inspection can be when it's done properly. Ross brought in his team of specialists to make sure that a first time home buyer wasn't left in the dark regarding the oil burner, septic tank, water well, etc. HOMESPEC really came through from start to finish. I was shocked to see Ross up on the roof making sure the house was safe and sound. The detailed work was obvious. Not every day do you find excellent communication, follow through and attention to detail. Ross was phenomenal. He was efficient, but the inspection was not at all rushed. The report was extremely detailed with many accompanying pics. He sent it in a particularly easy format to navigate w/in it.
