Quest is my lab of choice in Palm Springs. I have had my bloodwork done there for four years now. Everything having to do with having bloodwork done is made easy in my experience. I find it very simple and convenient to make appointments for my blood work on their web site and there always seem to be appointments available in the times I need them. I have always been taken on time for my appointments - never having to wait long. Each of the phlebotomists I have had draw blood there have been professional and gentle. Results are available online through their portal and are forwarded to referring physicians in a timely manner. On those rare occasions when I have had a billing question, I have found it relatively simple to get through to their billing department and get the issue resolved. I don't think there is very much else I can expect from a lab and recommend you give them a try if you need to go to a lab to have bloodwork done.... but make sure you make your appointment online as walk-ins have to wait for an available opening which might take some time. read more

I was a walk in at 6 am. When checking in I accidentally accepted a 9 am appointment. The computer would not let me edit the appointment to stand by. I explaiNed this to the technician and she told me they would work me in between patients but scheduled appointments were back to back. This computer glitch need to be fixed. This place sucks ass!! Do not come here as a walk in. I don't know why they just don't say appointment only for their place. If you walk in you are taken after all appointments. Appointments continue to walk in and you are set back behind them again and again and again. Stupid system. I did make an appointment but the doctor did not send labs appropriately so I returned the next day as a walk in. Sat there for 2.5 hours waiting and why you ask well I was going out of town the next day so I needed to get labs. I will definitely tell everyone I speak to about labs to go to a different company. I did not have an appointment and came in and was seen within a half an hour. Everything was smooth and easy and my phlebotomist was exceptional. Truly, it was the least painful and quickest experience I've ever had. And he's a super nice person. I did not catch his name, but I think he was an angel. read more

Quest is taking a minimalist approach to patient care. No human employee in the waiting area, no office personnel whatsoever, and only phlebotomists to handle every situation. Shameful business practice for a medical service. I had an appointment scheduled, arrived early, signed in at the kiosk & took a seat. I was unaware that the TV monitor that was mounted above my seat served any purpose other than to hawk Quest services -- I did not know it was my responsibility to pay attention to the list of patient initials that was displayed from time to time. When I hadn't been called 45 minutes after my appointment, the phlebotomist calling patients to the back said I had missed my appointment & would have to reschedule. Absolute nonsense and extremely poor patient service. I don't fault the phlebotomist-- this is a complaint about Quest & their policy of putting profits above patients. read more

Truly the weirdest experience, the waiting room is extremely dark and unwelcoming. The tv is weirdly loud and blares quest ads. There is not a worker in sight. They bring you back, review your info on the computer right next to the chair they draw your blood from. Such a strange business model for a healthcare facility. The phlebotomist that helped me was a bit stand offish, but warmed up as we talked more. I'm typically a likeable person so it is not often that people are rude to me. But I could see where the reviews are coming from. That being said, I feel like you get what you give, so if you give off an already upset/angry demeanor; that is what you are given. This location has terrible way of handling walk-ins. Walk-ins shouldn't be an option here as they obviously don't have a good system. 2 hrs and 35 min wait time and counting. They claim they have appointments every 10 min yet there isn't patients coming in every 10 min for said "appointment" just having all the walk-ins wait and not take anyone in for labs just waiting for the next appointment. Labcorp's wait times are absurdly long, even if you have an appointment. I received an SMS confirming mine, showed up on time, and still waited over an hour--1:30 to be exact--without ever being called. The appointment system feels like a scam just to get people in the door, with no actual schedule being followed. The location was clearly understaffed, with only three phlebotomists trying to manage a packed waiting room. There's no reason a national medical lab should be running this thin--it forces the employees to take on way too much, which only adds to the chaos. You can see the burnout in the staff, and unfortunately, it comes out in the way they treat patients--rude, dismissive, and clearly overwhelmed. I HATE getting my blood drawn. But every 3-4 years or so, I muster up the courage to do it to ensure everything's normal. Unfortunately, my last experience here was subpar. While I'm normally an introvert, I need nurses to chat it up and distract me from the needle/pain (yes, I have a low pain tolerance). When I went in early in the morning, I explained that I was nervous and the nurse wasn't comforting at all. Instead, she had a cold demeanor the entire time and just told me to look away. The whole 2 minutes (which felt way longer) was pure hell. And a week later, I still felt a bit sore in my arm! I get that working in healthcare is demanding and tough, but it's also a choice. If you hate your job (like it looked like she did), maybe it's time for a career change. People are trusting you with their health/bodies -- the least you can do is be kind, empathetic, and warm. It should be part of the job!!! Oh, and also, I found it weird how when I walked in, there was no one to greet me. Everything related to the check-in process is completely automated by a machine where a human would normally be. I hope upper management sees this: Healthcare is NOT an industry where the human touch should be eliminated/replaced. read more

Your appointment is meaningless. "System was down" apparently no one has knowledge enough to restart a network. Quest sends me a text to sign in. My name is on the monitor as next, and yet the answer came in the nastiest possible way from the technician, " System is down, we are taking all these people ahead of you. You have to wait" We are checked in. Our names are on your monitor and yet you cannot figure it out that we are next. If I am inconveniced because of your failure be kinder about it. Don't snap your morning in my face, you inadequate snot. And we pay for this treatment by people who are supposed to have compassion. She needs to work at a steel smelt. read more

But they never did it .. so I lost my appointment and I have to wait 1 hour after !!!! This is the worst system and "professional " lab Quest!!!! the employees don't follow the rules !!! They get the job done, and the office is clean. The staff is skilled. But, this is my least favorite Quest location to visit, because the staff always seems unhappy and border on the inconvenienced side. My last visit made up my mind not to ever come back to this one. My father passed away a couple of weeks ago. And, I'm constantly trying to schedule appointments and coordinate people in various aspects of settling his estate. While I was waiting in the lab, and the technician was preparing, she took a phone call. So, it was taking a little bit longer. My phone rang, and it was a number I could not avoid taking. I answered, and I was speaking as low as I could. She sharply looked at me and asked if I would take that outside. That was fair enough. So, the call lasted longer than I expected it to, and I actually had to hang up on the person. And, when I go back into the lab, I'm chastised for answering my phone. She's telling me that there was a sign saying I can't speak on the phone. Granted, I know what courtesy is in. Medical facilities is regarding cell phones. But she was really rude about it. Then, I pointed out that the sign said nothing about speaking on the phone, but about using devices to take video or audio recordings. I was already in a bad state And it was a little argumentative with her, but she continued to just push back and stand her ground. Anyway, I let it be because she was about to stick a needle in my arm, which she was very skilled at doing. I just couldn't believe her attitude, and that is not unusual for that location. read more

The only reason I'm even here is because this is the place my insurance covers. The employees here are so angry and mean, you'd think that somebody just murdered their dog and burned their Bible. They insisted on masks which is fine. But they didn't have any to give out. They told me to go to my car and get a sweater to put over my face. Luckily, the pharmacy next door had a mask that they were willing to give me free of charge so I was able to go back and check in a few minutes later. I was a half an hour early for my appointment and I asked if there was a chance I could be seen early and I was told in no uncertain terms to come back exactly at my appointment time and no sooner. Apparently, they are 100% certain that every single appointment between now and my appointment is going to show up on time. They assured me that there were appointments every 10 minutes and that everyone would be coming. They were angry, rotten bitches who clearly don't belong in any kind of human facing job task. Put them back in the lab with microscopes and test tubes and maybe they can perform better. But upfront with human beings, customer service should be among the top 20 traits when interviewing for this job. Just a little pro tip for the people at corporate. read more

So I had an appointment at 2pm and arrived an hour and a half early. I didn't see a worker in sight so I just checked in and selected I'll be waiting in the lobby. I waited a good 30 mins and couldn't catch a worker's attention. Another women was already upset because she went online and made an appointment for 1:40 but was early. Instead of the worker explaining how to bypass and go onto the walk in list she just argued with her until she left. Then another group of people walked in and went to the kiosk and selected walk in and was seen in less then 5 mins. As they were pulling the girl in I ran over and asked the worker if I would be put on the waiting list since I selected I was in the lobby waiting. And she got very defensive and right away started argued that I was wrong instead of showing me what to do. Finally a manager came out and helped me and made things better and I was much less frustrated. That employee has no business dealing with people or customer service. I will not be returning back to this location. I would not return to this establishment at all if it wasn't for the management person who dealt with it appropriately. read more

The phlebotomist weighed me, took my blood pressure and drew three vials of blood in under 5 minutes. She was friendly and professional and really great with a needle! As a new resident of Palm Springs I am happy to have found this location close to home. It's in a very clean building, parking isn't hard to find and the phlebotomist who helps me is very knowledgeable, kind, makes a personal connection and is very efficient! Her hair is always up in a cool style and she even had some good music going in her work area. I have small veins and always have to be poked a few times before they can draw blood but she does an excellent job and always finds it on the first try! Quest has officially removed the "care" from Healthcare. Tried to get a Covid Immunity test and was faced with misinformation, neglect, and a bombardment of non-health related marketing scams. The website provides a walk-in option. So, I visited the lab, only be told I must order it from my doctor. My doctor refused. I then called the customer service number the woman gave me for Quest. The call went to an automated message that lasted about 5 minutes - it immediately announced a promotion that I could qualify for a $100 gift card if I opted in. I opted out then received a message asking me if I would like to save on my AUTO INSURANCE? Really, we are in a crisis and Quest is exploiting patients' need for healthcare to leverage co-marketing opportunities??? Then, when I opted out of that next level of hustle, the recording advised me to call another number. When I returned to Quest, a manager explained how to order the test online. I followed the instructions with her guidance, only to discover that you cannot complete the order until you've selected an appointment time. Here's the catch: there are no appointment times. So, they promote this test but make it impossible to actually get it. This is a crisis and the situation is fluid, but there is no excuse for this inept approach and blatant abuse of the crisis to swindle patients into marketing schemes and misinformation. I see why they call it Quest now. Because it's an endless and fruitless quest for testing that only leads to a dead end. read more

I had to take a blood test for work and it had to be completed within 48 business hours and this was communicated to me on Friday before flying to the Bay Area the following Saturday. I didn't want to deal with trying to get this done up there, so I went here hoping I wouldn't waste my day away and risk not being seen. I checked in on the screen in the lobby and it said I should be seen within 30 minutes. 1 hour later I was luckily seen but I had to pee so badly because it's always hard to do this on command for me so I drank so much water to be able to provide a specimen. Georgina was the employee who helped me and she made this awkward experience super fun! Having to empty my pockets, taking off my hat, locking my belongings to make them inaccessible during the process felt strange but Georgina's commentary during the process put me at ease and made the experience as pleasant as it was going to be. If I ever have to go through this again, I hope to have more advance notice so I can make an appointment and if I'm in the area, I will definitely go here. read more

I went to the Quest Diagnostic on Country Club Drive this morning. The person doing blood work could not give me the time of day. I needed blood work and my Dr. Sent my lab orders to him. They couldn't accommodate me at all, nor did he have any advise to where I could get them done. He said he doesn't take walk ins and then proceeded to take the man in front of me who had no appointment. Then I asked if I can have a copy of my labs he said, no time to do that. I went in to get some bloodwork done regarding a possible hormone imbalance bc I'm going through treatment that might throw it off. Georgina was very rude when she could have relayed the same Information politely and could have attempted to help my predicament. Yolanda did her job well as the supervisor and took steps to resolve the situation. She was polite with me and she still didn't throw her employee under the bus. My brother has appointment for urine drug test for job at Quest on 2/26/21. He came to site, while waiting to ready to urinate (need to drink water and wait for bladder to get full) , he walks out for few minutes (just to avoid full room during covid time). The technician cancelled his appointment, said it is invalid as he walk outside.. He need to get another ticket from employer to get drug test again... I dont get it. If getting out building will make urine test unqualified, you should let the patient know and write a big sign... it is normal to wandering while waiting for urine... and if patient makes a mistake, give them next appointment. It sound like a way for you to charge more money from his employer to do drug test... read more

Well, to begin only one person works here. It's a self check in kiosk where everyone touches the same screen but you're required to wear a mask. They jerk you around and make you wait only to be told they are not accepting walk ins. This place is horrible on the inside too. It looks like oks fast food furniture covers in duct tape. Registered online. checked in on their computer with my QR code and was seen within 5 minutes each time. The nurses were friendly, and kind and very efficient in drawing blood. Made an appointment. Easy! Showed up to the lab on the day of appointment. Greeted by friendly staff at front desk. Within minutes taken into the draw room. Monica was my phlebotomist.
