They could not find my appt in their system so they kept me waiting over an hour on "standby" even though there was plenty of time between other appts. They couldn't have cared less. One lab person was outside smoking when I got there. Other patients were dumbfounded by their treatment of me. I eventually left. Diagnostic testing is never pleasant but it's a necessary party of life sometimes. I had a good experience at this lab and I am grateful for that. My insurance recently changed so I looked to Yelp to find me a quality lab that took my coverage. The entrance is 160 W26th Street. This lab opens at 7:30am. That is very important to note, especially if you're fasting or can't be late for work. Both applied to me. The phlebotomist that drew my blood was so patient and warm. She made me feel very calm and I thanked her for being so great. Unfortunately, I will be back to this lab every few months. But I'm glad I have a lab that is competent, clean and professional. read more

This is Quest Diagnostics, so what do you expect? Want something posh and high end? This isn't it. At times, it screams government. This particular location is extremely uncomfortable. The waiting room is so tight, and small. Rows and rows of seats. It was insanely packed & sme people waiting looked suspicious. The bright lights didn't help. Not sure what someone could be carrying (i.e. disease, STD, etc.). This is pre-COVID mind you. On top of that, the employee kept spraying the seats down with windex or some liquid alcohol after each person was escorted in for their checkup. It just added to the intensity, paranoia, and possible uncleanliness of it all. I was just panicking the whole time i was waiting. Sweating bullets. To their credit, they did move everyone in as fast as possible. I was trying to avoid coming here, and this location in particular because it just wasn't on the train line i needed. But my job kept forcing me to take this exam so i can get a credit on my medical benefits. How about they just write me a check? I don't need a discount. Unbelievable. The person that assisted me was very nice. I was told my blood pressure was a bit high, but she gave me a few mins before testing a second time (plus the machine was broken. She had to get a replacement). Of course it is high. I was rushing to make it to this location before they closed. Plus, the paranoia of the people waiting stressed me out. She took it a second time and said my blood pressure was fine. This is how it should always be. Let people relax and calm down. Anyways, get this. She ended the visit by asking me what ethnicity i am, and then refused to believe me after i responded. I need documentation and evidence of specific degrees to confirm eligibility of employment for people to be administering these types of tests. To add insult to injury, the person had a hard time withdrawing blood. I went back to work with a bruised and purple arm. Everyone thought my spouse beat me with a led pipe. Even with a systemwide computer meltdown, very capable communications by the staff and once back up and running, I received excellent care administered by Lucy, who went the extra mile. 160 W. 26 st location: Beware of this grey hair lady called Lucy. Yesterday, I went to get blood drawn. Because of previous trauma, I asked her to use a smaller butterfly needle. She took offense to that. She said: you have ok vein but YOU DON'T CARE. YOU JUST WANT TO GET WHAT YOU WANT". I explained it was because of previous bad experiences. She repeated that statement three times. Complained another three times it takes longer (like 3 minutes longer for 8 tubes). At one point, I said "I am sorry I request this". She snapped back: "PEOPLE MISUSE THE WORD SORRY WHEN THEY DON'T MEAN IT". She was one of the more miserable persons I have met. To LUCY: if you hate your fxxking job so much, quit!! read more

I'm a pediatrician in NYC. It's a bad day when I have to send my labs to Quest, meaning that I don't have any other possible options. They couldn't care less about their services and their couriers are unreliable and can't follow basic instructions. It's a real crap shoot if the labs will even result because they're typically either lost, not picked up timely, or run incorrectly. I've waited far past my work hours for their couriers to never show up. The couriers don't even answer their phones when contacted by customer service. Their services would suck even if they delivered pizza but they are dealing with human medical specimens that are time-sensitive making them a horrendous company. If you want someone to mishandle your bodily specimens, use Quest! I'll continue to protect my patients from them by sending labs elsewhere. read more

Who honestly loves doing blood work? At least when you have to do it you want it to be clean, efficient, and pain free. This location was great - check in was easy and appts get priority so despite people being there before me I bumped them. There's a countdown clock in the waiting room with the order of which you'll be seen + time so that was nice. When I was called, the phlebotomist was really nice, made some small talk and the blood draw was practically painless. This location was completely renovated and it looks great. Everything was spotless and I walked out in 15m. Next time I need a blood draw I'll come back to this location. read more

Several times have not received pcr results within the advertised 1-2 days. Waited over 5 days for results in March 2022 and on day 3 now waiting in June 2022 for covid PCR results. No response despite requests to lab to follow up and send results. Avoid kiosk testing if they send the specimens to Quest Labs -- ASK FIRST - many kiosks send the specimens to other labs and they do get the results back in the advertised time! read more

I went in for gestational glucose test, which requires 4 blood draws over 3.5 hour span. The nurses were great, nice, and professional. I give their work/service five stars. However, overall star is 3 b/c they did not have wifi or nursing bed with bed to lie down. I was informed in advance that any Quest Diagnostics location will have wifi so we can get our work done during 3~4 hours sitting there. Also, nauseousness is common for blood tests in empty stomach, so they said they will have quiet room with bed. Indeed, I did get very nauceous, but had to just endure it very painfully on the chair. I was allowed to use a reclined chair, but it was still very uncomfortable. I am surprised they don't have any facility to accoommodate nauceous patients when they do blood draws so much. read more

Quite dissatisfied overall. I got bloodwork done about three months ago; I created a quest account and never got the results actually reported to me, even when I requested them through the website, though I did get a bill. I called today to ask. My first call, around 2:13 PM, went through to a voicemail saying that no one would be checking the phones until 2:30. I called back around 3, and, after being put on hold for about 15 minutes, got connected to a customer services representative, who said she would connect me to a client services representative; I went through that only to receive a voicemail message that the office was having a "fire drill" and being hung up on. My experience at this location of Quest Diagnostics was excellent. I've had blood drawn fairly frequently and this phlebotomist -- whose name was Sabrina -- was gentle, kind and friendly. I can't speak highly enough of my experience today at the Quest Diagnostics facility at 139 Centre St. My doctor had ordered around 15 blood tests and I was frankly uneasy about what it would take to get blood out of me. In the past I have been poked and pierced by inept phlebotomists who left me with huge bruises. The pleasant young man who checked me in at Quest attempted to get blood from me and quickly realized that he needed to call on someone more experienced. Pauline, who has been mentioned by other reviewers, took over and got blood out of me on the first prick. She drew most of the blood needed and then turned me over to another phlebotomist whose name was Angela, who was equally adept. I was very grateful that they were so competent. Incredible! They literally came to get us less than a minute after we signed in. (This was on West 26th.) The woman Lucy could not have been more patient. My 8 y/o was nervous about a blood test and brought a stuffed animal. Lucy was so sweet, asking the stuffed animal's name, talking through everything step by step. She was unbelievably kind. Entered the building at 3:15pm on a Monday for a 3:30pm appointment. No wait for the elevator. No one was in the waiting room, and once I finished checking in on the Ipad, Tun assisted me right away. He processed my prescription, insurance, and other paper work with no problems, and double checked everything with me to make sure it was all correct. I'm lucky to have very visible veins, so he had no problem drawing 5 tubes of blood from me. Practiced great bedside manners as well. By the time I was done and the band-aid was applied it was 3:29pm! I was done even before the time I was supposed to have my appointment. That is what I call efficiency! read more

TO FURTHER SHOW WHY YOU SHOULD NOT WORK WITH QUEST: They contacted me via Yelp and said I should contact Customer Service. So I called Customer Service and they told me to call back to Billing and ask for a Supervisor. I called Billing back at 833-387-0254 and was told I could NOT speak to a Supervisor because Quest never "discounts" service. Yet if Medicare had approved the test the $120.36 bill would have been DISCOUNTED by Medicare to probably LESS than $20 and QUEST would have accepted it - which is "accepting" a discount. I guess it's just individual working human beings who do not get "discounts". She actually REFUSED to let me speak to a Supervisor! No wonder they get such LOUSY RATINGS. read more

Tun is a classic guy and so good at what he does. I had to draw blood out of State and was glad I came here. Great service and fast results. It's tricky to get here though even with GPS so be sure to ask for help if you get lost. I would tell you what's across from it but I already forgot. Absolutely disastrous service. The woman who I dealt with, a short woman who had light brownish-orange hair was so inept at her job that I walked out and declined the service before it began. From the moment she called me back she was completely rude and off-putting. We spent almost 20 minutes sitting together with her attempting to type my information into the computer (which I imagine she does all day) and would huff and puff at every single line of type like filling out a form was physical torture to her. She would then rudely ask me questions about my doctors script, that she is clearly supposed to know, not me, and then roll her eyes and scoff at me if she didn't feel my answer was sufficient. (Why am I supposed to know the medical jargon that my doctor wrote to communicate with another medical professional but she isn't?) She then abruptly asks, "Where's your credit card?" me, surprised that we were already up to the point of paying, I said "my boyfriend has it in the waiting room", she stares at me blankly and goes "WELL GO GET IT THEN". Then, low and behold, her supervisor comes in for a routine observation and suddenly her tone was drastically different. By this point I am already fuming and ready to leave despite her shift in attitude. She then proceeds to incorrectly type in the entire credit card form page THREE TIMES in a row, each time telling me my card is declined, and each time I point out to her that she is spelling words wrong, or because she literally didn't know she had to USE THE NAME ON THE CREDIT CARD when trying to bill said credit card. By the fourth time I was so aggravated I simply could not re-spell the entire name, address and phone number and credit card WORD FOR WORD all over again to her. I stood up and told both her and her supervisor that I would absolutely not let this person draw blood and I would bring my money elsewhere (I was paying $ out of pocket by the way, so that's a big mistake on your part Quest) A side note, this place is filthy. The room that they were going to draw blood in is literally part of the waiting room sectioned off by a curtain, and there was DRIED BLOOD on the floor. Terrible experience! Never got my results from them- login never worked (even though I signed up)....urgently needed my results for a further test I needed to do but nobody gave a shit! Even after calling, e- mailing them....The only thing that worked when they sent me my bill for over 2000.00 usd- and there they were very professional. It's efficient in general to make a Quest appointment on line for any location. You can also do walk-ins. I have been going to this Quest location for a number of years. I have never had to wait past my appointment time; when I've arrived early sometimes I've been seen early. The waiting area is clean and I have never found a crowd there. I made an appointment with my doctor at 5:30. She sent me downstairs to quest diagnostics to collect blood as part of my checkup. I think the practitioners at this organization rushed the procedure because they were about to close and wanted to go home. I am not a squeamish person, and I have never experienced pain when having my blood drawn. The woman who took my blood did a terrible job injecting me. After the painful procedure she realized she had not checked the form the doctor gave me and then she had to stick me again in my other arm and collect more blood. I feel like the whole process was rushed and as a result I experienced sever internal bleeding. My arm is so sore and bleeding. Went to Quest on 22nd street yesterday to drop off a fecial sample. The woman at the desk was extremely nasty. I have gone to this Lab for years and have watched how miserable the people have become. I dont think there is any type of supervision. Well the woman was just standing behainfd the counter. No Hello or any type of pleasantry. I told her I was dropping off the sample and she said I had to wait. I told her I couldn't and started to leave. She said she would throw the sample in the garbage. Professional? Far from it. I am going to complain to my Dodctor and to the Health Department. I tried to call the Executive office , but you can't get to speak to anyone. I read the other reviews some mentioned there was a wait other mention there wasn't. So I was hoping for favor. I arrived at 12:50 the waiting room was full. I checked in and was seen by a nice phlebotomist named Lisa and out of the office and building walking down the street by 1:25pm.
