I had the worst experience with a staff in this location. I got my digital order form from my doctor. When I checked in, one staff told me they do not accept pdf file (no photo or email). They only accept the paper form. She asked me to print out the form at nearby Staples store and I can get in by giving them the paper form. After 10 minutes, I came back and waited until the staff is calling for the next patient. I told her I have my paper form ready. Then she told me to wait. After two people being called after that, I complained to her again and asked her when is my turn. The answer I got is just wait. I could not stay calm and walk away. The office was not busy. I am sure they could serve me at their capacity. But unfortunately the staff is just not friendly to anyone who is not following exactly their way. I did make a call to customer service and hope they could hear my voice. read more

Such inhuman and unprofessional behavior at this place! I came here to drop off my stool sample and they refused to take it as the containers dint match their brand. They looked the same as what my doctor had given me but they just refused to take it or even make an exception. The lady at the reception asked me to transfer it to their containers and when I even thought of considering it and asked her for a spatula, she refused to give my any and said they dint have a spatula. They dint bother understanding how difficult the process of stool sample collection is for a patient. Never going here again and advise you to stay away as well. Ask your doctor to suggest another test center. read more

And the only positive contact is with the technician herself name Prescilla as she was very helpful....and more personable. Another thing - my 92 yo mother has an appt at 11:30 and I came early because she is diabetic with many other issues as well ... and I asked the receptionist if we can check in early giving her condition - she said yes. So we waited and waited and we waited until 11 ...!!! An hour after checking in! Had the receptionist said NO she won't be called until the many others who walked in AFTER checked in then I would have never subject my mom to such a wait. Angela (phlebotomist) was rude, unprofessional, and unethical. We started off having problems when I asked to confirm which blood tests my doctor ordered because there were multiple orders in the system. She was rude about it and didn't want to double-check if there were duplicate tests that were ordered. Because of the friction between us, I asked if she would have a problem drawing my blood, and she said no. I took her at her word, but she lied--which is very unprofessional. She subsequently hurt me by using the needle to (1) go through the vein and pulling back and then (2) extensively and harshly fish around multiple times, 1/2" in and out each time and up to 90 degrees from the direction of initial insertion, which could have severed my vein. I have bruising and a big welt from what she did. It was clearly intentional and retaliatory--she purposefully tried to hurt me because of our argument, even after she confirmed that she had no problems with me in drawing my blood--which is immoral and unethical, especially for someone in healthcare. She lamely denied what she did was wrong and said she's supposed to fish around for the vein. I wasn't going to let her try again, so I had another phlebotomist draw blood from my other arm, who did so with no problems or pain. I have nice, large veins and never had a problem in hundreds of blood draws until I unfortunately encountered Angela, who should be banned from healthcare. read more

I was also confused by the new location and address. I circled around the parking lot for 15 mins before I realized it was across the closed down mervyns and next door to the Italian restaurant. First time I came in, I was late for my appointment and had to come back later. The lady receptionist gave me an attitude at first. "You should have checked the address in your confirmation email." Well I did but it was a generic address in a large parking lot! There was no specific store number. Anyhow, I was informed that it gets less busy around the afternoon. I was instructed to come back after 2 or 3 pm. I made another appointment at 145pm to safe 2nd attempt. I arrived early! Woo. There were only two people here at 2 pm. That's a good time to drop in. The male clerk was very nice. I asked if I could also get a test to determine my blood type in addition to my antibody titers. He said I would have to call the doctor for permission but when I called they were out for lunch. He said I could call afterwards. So I went in and did the blood withdrawal ... The tech was trying to Socialize with me to distract me from my fear of needles but she wasn't very good at making an interesting conversation. I was disinterested and felt the small pinch. Afterwards I felt light headed afterwards. They gave me water and let me Rest before I left. The guy asked if I called the doctor but I said I haven't yet. I think he felt sorry for me and so he said it's ok he would do it for me. Sweet! read more

This facility seems a bit unorganized and I understand we are in the middle of a pandemic but I feel as if the appointment system and overall flow of direction could be more efficient. I came in for a standard pre-employment urine drug screening and have been waiting for more than an hour. Had initially checked in and registered for my appointment on my phone as well as inside their office and received a text within 20 minutes to come back inside for the collection (since I had to wait outside due to COVID restrictions). But, once I did, I was only instructed to go back outside again - ??? I feel like somehow my "check-in" may have been overlooked, or there was a miscommunication as to what part of my appointment was in process. After another half hour or so, I continue to see people who arrived after me leave before me. And I see other people also here for a urine collection frustrated with their empty cups, confused on where to go or why they have been waiting so long. I was told there is only one person ahead of me now but I have still been waiting for awhile, but now I might have to leave and skip this whole thing to avoid being late for work... I thought giving myself an hour for a simple urine collection was enough time, but I guess not - at least for this location. read more

I have been there twice and left without getting anything done. Most of the ladies, with the exception of one, walk around in circles. I see people come in a minute or two late and they refuse to see them. I had a special order request and it looked like they didn't wanna do it. Everything about said about the receptionist is true. One of the most ignorant people I've come across. I came in for a blood draw, but she instant asked if I came in for a drug test with a face of disgust. The original anticipated wait time was 15-20 minutes, but it was easily over 2 hours. The actual blood draw was a quick process. The phlebotomist knew was she was doing and the poke was barely felt. My first impression was that this place was not well organized but then everything went smoothly. And it was clean. I made an appointment but arrived way early. I have been fasting since 9 pm the evening before. I wanted to get the lab test done soon so I can have some food. There was nobody at the front desk. I used a self-check in kiosk by the front counter. My name appeared on the TV screen as the third person in line with a 7 minutes wait time. The waiting was more like 15 to 20 minutes. The lab technician, Priscilla, handled all the paper works first. Then drew blood and asked for urine collection. She was friendly and skillful. I only felt a pinch when she drew blood. read more

Came here for routine bloodwork for my annual physical. The new location seem like it's in a kind of weird place, being actually in the corner of a shopping center, but maybe that's not as uncommon as I think it is? I was expecting something more akin to their previous location across the street, so I was confused at first, but having now visited, I think this new location is an improvement. Quest's new waiting area is larger and brighter, owing to windows, which is a plus. Also, this new location seems to afford them more stations for more staff (the previous location always seemed to be operated by at most two persons, one to run the front desk and the other to actually collect samples/draw blood/etc.), which makes the wait shorter--it really used to take forever at the old location. The staff were polite and professional for my bloodwork, so I have no qualms with them. It's difficult to go above and beyond with something simple like a blood draw, but I feel like you'll have an average experience here. read more

This review is long overdue. We no longer live along the border of SJ and Milpitas. We moved from that area a year ago. Prior to that, for years this was our go-to place for lab work. I never had to wait long. This place saw me through four pregnancies and various other lab work. Is it crazy that I came here because I had a favorite phlebotomist?! I don't even know her name but the first time I was assigned to her I didn't even FEEL the needle! So I always scheduled at this location hoping to get her. Sometimes I did; sometimes I didn't. I'm not even sure if you can request a specific phlebotomist at a lab, but just knowing that she might possibly be working made me choose this Quest. It's disappointing to see it has so many negative reviews. Maybe a lot has changed since a year ago? read more

Wow yeah, listen to the reviews. The front desk lady asked me for my order form which I had via email as that's how my doctor sent it to me. She said I couldn't get my tests done unless it was printed out so I asked if I could email it to her and have her print it out as there was clearly a computer and printer on her desk. She responded back with just "no" and continued to do whatever she was doing. She was extremely rude and even if they really couldn't take me unless the order form was printed, she could've said it in a nicer way like a decent human being would instead of making me feel like such a burden and annoyance. I don't write review much but this time I should address this experience. I have blood test for many years at this location but NEVER happened to me like that!!! On that day, there was a young lady who took my blood test. This was not my first time going to this office. In the past, there was a nurse working there was very good. Unluckily, I have a new face come to me this time. This young lady couldn't locate a vein in my right arm. She found and found... I felt like this person was new and no experience. When she finally found the vein and poked into my right arm, she seems not sure and asked me if she need to take the needle out in the middle of the process, she withdrew 2 tubes already. It was painful and the needle poke very deep. But I let her finished drawing blood. After I come back home, I have a pins and needles feeling like a nerve is aggravated in some way. It is not normal as usual. It was over a week after I visited this center. It is overwhelmed that it is uncomfortable and weird. At the point, I have to let my arm heal by itself. Next time, I won't let the unexperienced staff take care of me. It is nonsense. Please check the qualification of your staff and record if she is unqualified. SAD :( read more

The Quest on Calaveras is terrible. Even with an appt. my husband and daughter waited for 2 hrs to have blood drawn. The first clue that this location was not the best, they erroneously stated that the tests were fasting tests and sent my daughter home because she had not fasted. So she rescheduled and when she arrived at check-in was told that her tests were NOT fasting tests. She could have had her blood work done a week earlier had she not been misinformed, then there was a 2 hr wait with an appt, then the site of the blood draw was very painful. Please choose a different Quest location if you want a better experience. read more

I went there for a drug screening employment and glad I made it on time and followed all procedures. It was an average experience but the customer service here is rude. Just a simple smile or being friendly helps. However, I talk to the one that help me and asks for something like a confirmation. They didn't even bother giving me or check if they can give me one. This place is sooooo slow! I've been here for almost an hour and they barely called me up to take my paperwork. They've called ONE person to the back since I've been here. I'm here for a pre-employment drug screen and I'm literally about to pee my pants. They had two people working in the back and one lady up front, and one of the ladies in the back just left for the day. Phlebotomists are okay, but the receptionist is rude. If you are at all late (even for a minute) for your appointment, they will put you on the same list as walk-ins. Their clock goes by the satellite time, which is 3 minutes ahead of the time on my phone. Don't expect any sympathy even if it is pouring outside and you are pregnant. I came in for a glucose test that requires you to drink the glucose solution before the time can start. Instead of just giving me the solution upon checking in to start the time (like the Quest in Fremont), I waited for about 20 minutes before they offered me the drink. What a waste of time! read more

This location is in the back of the shopping center. 1st time, I came here for some blood test. I just got a new job and asked if they could look up my insurance since I haven't received my card. I was told I would have to pay the full amount then have my insurance reimburse me. I asked how much it would cost and they said $360. I said nope I'll come back when I have my card. 2nd time, Came back after receiving my insurance card a month later. I was 10 minutes late. I checked in and waited. As I waited another client came in asking for help with the kiosk. The receptionist told him he needed his license and I'd. He told her my license is my I'd and she rolled her eye and said no insurance card. But she was the one that asked for the wrong information. So I waited 5 minutes then they came out and told me I missed my appointment and had to reschedule. Absolutely the WORST EVER!!! Avoid this place if you can. Came in on weekday morning at 8:00 am the desk rep's attitude is very bad and said there are 10 people ahead of me. Because I had an important meeting and couldn't wait, so I left. Came in another day at 7:30 am, the app. says only 3 minutes wait, but it ended up to be 20 minutes. And the technician poked both my left arm and my right arm and still couldn't get the blood out enough (and wastes 3 half full tubes of blood). After I ASKED FOR another more experienced technician, and at the 3rd poke, finally, the work was done correctly. This place is small, disorganized and dirty and the customer service is just non existent. I would give a zero star if there is such option. Save yourself, go to other places where it's safer, cleaner and with better services for your blood work!!! read more

Very bad experience!! My employer scheduled the drug screening test in this center, I went around 1:15 pm, there is no one in front desk for information or help.. so I was waited outside to check if anyone is coming out in the lab since it was fully closed. The person who came there to collect something from lab inside, I requested him to call any lab person for assistance. He called them on behalf of me, the lady who was inside the lab room wasn't respond him properly twice. Then the man again called them loudly, two ladies came outside and talk rudely. I have requested them about the drug test, she said that she cannot do without any appointment. I showed the email which is scheduled that center for testing. Without reading my email and also she didnt listen what I am saying to her, she just gave a paper which has some different lab centers name with address and told me that, I should go and take the screening test without any appointment. I asked her, why I should go there again, I have appointment here. She turned her back and closed the lab room immediately, its kind of mean and unpleasant behavior. I walk in, it smells like people who haven't showered, the lobby floor is dirty, and the people who work there are less than desirable to be around. The ONLY saving grace was the Phlebotomist. This woman has the patience of a saint! The women who work there would not answer her when she spoke to them and then they left her alone so they could go to lunch!!!! Extremely unprofessional! As I was leaving a woman waiting in the lobby was bothering the Phlebotomist with insurance questions because the office staff was nowhere to be found. I believe the Phlebotomist doesn't regularly work at that location so hopefully she won't ever have to deal with that BS ever again. So take my advice and steer clear of that place! I was happy that they took me back, based on me not having an appointment, because at that location, their policy is to make appointments on Saturday, although its not listed anywhere online for people to know to do this ahead of time. My problem is not with them taking me in, but what the phlebotomist said. I did not get his name because I was so upset and just wanted to leave, but there were only two Filipino men working, one older (his name was Steve) and the other was younger wearing converse (didn't get his name). Once he put in my information and then put the "code" for the type of blood test I was getting, after the name of the test popped up, he looks at me and says, "oh, you're trying to abort you're baby?" ... I was so disgusted and upset, I responded with "No, I had a miscarriage yesterday." To which he responded with a very quick "Sorry". I am so absolutely disgusted, hurt and sick to my stomach at the comment he made to me. 1) If I was aborting my unborn child, it is absolutely NONE of his business, and he should show the upmost care and respect when dealing with his patients. 2) I was NOT aborting my child, I miscarried it the previous day, 10/23. I would NEVER recommend anyone to go here based on this experience because of the disrespect the phlebotomist showed me. It took everything in me to not break down and start crying right there. This being my first miscarriage, and the fact that it happened just yesterday put me in a fragile state. I still am, I am flabbergasted at the treatment, and suggest training to these phlebotomists on how to show respect and keep comments to themselves about tests and what their patiences are going through because it is none of their business, and what they say can be beyond hurtful and cause more pain that what the patient is already going through. read more

I checked in as soon as I entered the facility. My wait time was only 10 minutes and they made me wait for 40 minutes. They started taking other patients who checked in later than me and that pissed me off. Moreover, the asian lady who was managing the lab was extremely rude to all the patients. She needs to learn hospitality. For the entire 40 minutes, I was very thirsty and they didn't have drinking water facility in their waiting area. Came in at 7am hoping for a drug screen. I arrive, they told me to schedule an appointment for a drug screen. Couldn't do it in person. Had to do it online or over the phone. When I tired scheduling an appointment online for this location, their scheduling system online shows no appointment times available. When I tried over the phone, the automated voice tells me there are "technical difficulties." Pretty much can't set up an appointment here. Find somewhere else. [Updating my review from their old location, which was across the street] This place is seriously hit-or-miss... at times, you can get in and out with a breeze. At other times, it seems as though they enjoy torturing their customers. If there are more than just one or two people waiting, you might be in for a bad experience. Though, at least this new facility is significantly nicer! First off... they take appointments - though, I don't really understand why... even if you're going in for test after many hours of fasting, it doesn't seem to do any good to simply inquire as to their backlog (the answer I received was "Everyone here is either fasting or not fasting, sir" -- which, if you think about it, is a given). More-over, they don't appear to actually prioritize their appointments over walk-ins... of the times I've been here (mostly at their older location), I've yet to be taken on-time. This prior appointment (Mar 2015) took me a good two or three hours (while fasting 12+ hours). The "funny" part is, of course, that then the lab tech might even decide to "make fun" of you fasting... "Oh, you didn't need to fast for this test" -- even though, my doctor actually wrote across the top of the form, "Fasting Required." Somehow, I'd rather rely on my doctor, and not the snarky comments of either the tech or the receptionist (my apologies). Lastly, and even though I know some may think I'm being rather pedantic on this point, you will actually *need* your insurance card (seemingly depending on their mood, of course). It doesn't matter how often you've been here, or how recently you've been here - they want the physical card (or, at least something *on paper* ... it doesn't matter if you just print it out). They often WILL NOT accept you either writing it down for them, or showing and/or emailing them a PDF of the card, itself (but, printing it out "is fine" ... /boggle). Efficiency being what it is, of course... they'll just take your copy of your printout and type it in to their systems, anyway (so refusing a digital copy is just another way they're decidedly extracting pain on their customers). And, you *might* luck out and get a tech who allows you to just write the number on their form for them... but, I wouldn't bank on it (though I've gotten lucky a few times). In short, if you have a choice between Labtech or Quest, I'd probably suggest Labtech... I only come here because 1) the digital copies are preferred by my doctor and 2) they're close to work/home. The only thing you should be looking for, here, is "convenience" - that's not to say it won't still take you an extra couple of hours if they decide they're in a bad mood and want to mess with your day. read more
