There are quite a few around town and I have visited several and they are all different... strange setup.. some locations are operate with a self-help structure which is confusing if you don't know how it works. Others have someone at a front desk to instruct how it works. I like how simplistic the process is but it's not for everyone. Definitely need to find which location works for you. I would avoid the location in Playa vista. Not friendly not helpful and not easy to find and parking is difficult and expensive comparatively since you'll spend half of your time wandering around trying to find the place. And they use an electronic kiosk for check-in so if it's your first time it makes things confusing and difficult. And the people here aren't friendly and don't acknowledge you if you haven't checked in using the kiosk. read more

I was at quest to have blood taken for a research study. The person who was going to take my blood was confused by the paperwork and after taking time to figure it out, which I appreciated, she called a manager for help. In about 10 minutes the manager showed up and helped her out with all the instructions. As a result, they drew my blood and were able to send it to the study. I was very happy with how they handled the unusual situation and didn't just dismiss me. I also noticed that the same person was helping people in the waiting area to check in which is automated. I think they really try to be helpful at this location. I also thought it a was clean office which is so important. read more

Check in was simple, I waited maybe 10 mins and the whole appt from arriving to leaving took no longer than 30mins. I hate getting my blood drawn but they did a fantastic job. I want to give a glowing review for a location that is easy to get to, has parking (you pay for it), is very clean, has easy registration, has posted when you can be expected to be seen on a visible board, and has terrific staff that answered all of my questions. That was the fastest blood test I have ever had in my life. My appointment was at 8:10 AM. I arrived at 8:06, checked in by 8:09, called at 8:13, and I walked out the door at 8:17. The phlebotomist was deadpan and matter-of-fact, which I guess could be seen as having a less-than-stellar bedside manner, but that is something that does not personally bother me. When I can get in and out of a blood test in LOS ANGELES of all places in less than 15 minutes, I'd let the phlebotomist call me a little bitch for wincing while the needle went in for all I care. Next time I need a blood test, I'll definitely be coming back here. I want to add, the woman in the waiting room helping people check in at the two available tablets was amazing. She was kind, cheerful, and witty, which was so refreshing at 8 in the morning on a Monday. My phlebotomist was Noami! She was very kind, patient and careful. Normally, nurses/phlebotomists struggle a whole lot with finding my veins. Which leads to be getting pricked about 3/4 times. If not more. However, she did it on the first try. She had a gentle hand too, which I appreciate a whole lot. I came in at 9:35 for a walk in, and left at 10:05ish! If you know someone elderly (who probably struggles with technology) I'd suggest accompanying them since you do check in through a tablet :) read more

a bit torn whether to give it 3 stars or 4, i mean, if you keep your expectation low, the place is fine, it does its job. So first thing to get out of the way is appointment: go make it, don't just walk in, you will wait forever; that's seems to be main cause for 1 star reviews here, you will just sit there and wait forever as ppl who made appointment just bump the walk-ins down the list. Also, the place has no receptionist, check in is all done on a tablet. If you are reading this here on Yelp you be fine, but for those technologically challenged (eg: your grandpa/ma) please keep this in mind. I made appointment at 12:30pm, arrived and checked in at 12:29pm, got out of there at 1:10pm, so even with appointment there is still a 40 minute wait, which echoes some of the reviews here. Don't expect this to be an in-and-out affair as some have experienced, and you be a happy camper. Maybe perhaps make your appointment earlier in the day so the line be shorter (less of those Walk Ins that bumps everyone down). If there was option I would give negative stars as my review. I have been coming to this location for over and year now and it's always been a great experience. I get blood work every month for my type 1 diabetes. However this is my first time getting Angela M as my tech. Now let me tell you she was the rudest technician I have ever encountered. She was so rude and disrespectful horrible customer service and bed manner was rediculous. First off I came to my blood work apt on time and ready as normal for some reason my Lab work order was not online and I didn't not have it printed out. I asked her what can I do to get this for you, her response was idk what to tell you in a very rude manner. I then attempted figure it out because she was no help at all she just sat there looking at me. I remembered I got at email of my lab orders, I started looking for this email which I found. I attempted to email this to her a few times being it was secured it was not coming through for her to see. I asked if it would be easier to go print the order I live literally across the street and have a printer. Her response well not looking at me was if you leave you will have to reschedule, which wasn't a option being I needed these labs for my upcoming doctors apt. Finally I was able to get the lab order for her via email. I then proceeded to asked if there was something my doctor was doing wrong most recent because it's always been online for them. She ignored me, I then began to apologize for the inconvenience I may have caused not having my lab order and she ignored me yet again. It was then time to pay my balance for my labs, I gave her my card to pay she gave it back to me I proceeded to thank her for that and she still proceeded to ignore me. I went to do my sample needed in the restroom and when I came back to the room she had a patient in the room, I asked if we were finished she then stated well yeah very rudely and kept on with what she was doing. Its been about five years since I last had to take a drug screening for a job. I have to say this is by for the most professional, swift and efficient location I have been to for a screening. They are willing to take walk-ins but the determining factor of your wait time depends on how much blood work they have to do on others this the reason for appointments. There are parking meters surrounding the location, so that wasnt a problem. The parking meters only allow an hour at a time so paid for an hour with the intention of coming back by 9:09am to feed the meter once more. Cindy was very nice. I had to check in with her first with ID and drug screen request from my employer. She advised me that drug screenings don't normally start until 10am. I knew they opened at 8am and was prepared to wait. Fortunately, I was allowed in. I was greeted by Naomi. She was polite and sincere with me. She explained to me that depending on the amount of blood work that had to perform, I would be called pretty quickly. While waiting, I was observing her. She was efficient, humble and went out of her way to help each patient. She made each person feel welcomed. An observing patient that was waiting as well had the nerve to counsel her concerningby being too nice to those who are disabled yet have an independent spirit. She told her that she worked at a job with disabled ones and was told not to extend too much help to disabled ones because it leaves them with their dignity to allow them to do for themselves. Naomi actually went out her way to open the exit door to help this patient that was in a wheel chair. The door that she was exiting out of actually opened inward and would have posed a hazard if the patient would have been struggling to exit and another patient was trying to enter. So in my opinion she did the right thing. It wasn't too long until I was called by Chris (the one who actually took my urine sample). It shocked me to be called so fast. He was thorough and explained the procedure well. When I say "procedure" that's exactly what I mean. I would call it the "You don't fool me and I don't fool you" procedure. You have exactly four minutes to urinate. You're not allowed to flush the toilet or wash your hands right away until your test is collected and you're guided to a sink to do so. Nothing can be left in the pockets of your clothes and any items you have on you would be placed into a lockbox until urine is collected. If by four minutes you're not done, you will receive a knock on the door. I was told its best to drink orange juice or black coffee, anything with a color and a good amount because you will have to fill two tubes that looks like about 4 ounces each. After my urine was collected and I washed my hands, I was told to watch as my information was imputed into the computer and while my sample was labled. I was also asked to look at the screen to make sure the numbers matched the numbers on my sample and also to sign off it as being accurate. Its a process but Chris was so efficient until I was back at my car at 8:48am. Remember I had to be back at the meter by 9:09am. I had a very awesome experience. I hope Quest gains the trust of many companies as a location to recieve drug screenings of future employees. read more

I have no idea how they allow people with NO BEDside manner WORK in this field. I gave Angela M my phlebotomist today my paperwork. The first thing she said was "it's 9:40 this blood test is for the morning. I said it's 940 am is until 1159am." She said "it has to be done between 7-9am" She was NASTY responding to me. She was going to keep my paperwork & I said "I need to take a picture of that to make sure it's in the system." She said it's in the system" I still need the picture." She hands me the paper I said my purse is & I pointed." She said "okay." I was trying to inform her that the vein was deflated since I had bloodwork done for 2 other drs on Friday it was 12 tubes(today is Tuesday). She began humming so then she was fixing to find my vein In my right arm & I said " the vein there pops up and then hides." She hummed louder & smirked. She couldn't find the vein yes she continued to search between the glove being to big & my vein playing hide and seek I was over it. I'm irritated, but & just need to get the heck out of there, I said the vein on the side will give you blood she laughed. For a period I used this facility quite often. More recently my testing has been handled by other means but for an impending nephrologist appointment I needed to use a lab and this one was familiar so I elected to use it. One advantage is a convenient location, on Wilshire in City East. Also to reach it is a short schlep through the lobby and from the elevator which my knees appreciate. Unlike many medical offices some of the chairs in the waiting area do not have arm rests, which is great for someone of my girth. The phlobotomist chair was a tight fit so they grabbed a regular one for me to sit in during the blood draw. I explained the best option is through my knuckles and the tech got a butterfly and made a start. Big kudos as I have had techs ignore my advice which ended up with multiple painful failed attempts. Who knows my body better than me? Thank you for listening! Doing what I suggested resulted in a quick low discomfort draw. Also I needed to do a urine sample. When I complained about difficulties the tech got a plastic recepticle I placed on the toilet and from the reservoir after I urinated into it I poured the desired amount into the specimen container. Easy peasy! Because of the lockdown the cafe is temporarily closed, which is a shame as I found it one of the better office building snack and hot food places. When normal returns give it a try. Summary: staff were helpful, things were handled professionally and the discomfort was minimized plus they were proactive to address limitations due to my size. Thumbs up! read more

This location is by far my preference of choice to get my mothers bloodwork done. . I've taken my mother to varies Quest locations. This location is friendly, right as you walk up to the entrance and check in with the hall staff and then when you enter to admitting. Very clean and most importantly seats are spaced out for social distance. I truly appreciated Emily for being a true professional and getting Marlowe for doing my mothers bloodwork. Staff is very young and need better training on how to draw blood from infants. They are very rough and try to pick a fight with you when you raise any kind of objection. My baby has had her blood drawn many times before and has never cried that hard or been handled with such carelessness. I would avoid if at all possible. read more

My GP's affiliated with Good Sam, and he refers me here for my blood work. Quest is so close to his office that I can pop over there very quickly. I'm usually not driving, but if I am, there's no need to drive and park twice. I just walk from his office to bloodwork and back to the car (parking in the area can be expensive.) It's on the second floor of a tall medical office building on the north side of Wilshire. The staff here have always been pretty quick and pretty decent; some are friendlier than others. Generally if you ARE friendly, you'll get friendly (some folks really have a hard time understanding this.) I recall once getting bad service (borderline rude + long wait) but it was the exception. The only thing I hate about coming here is that there always seem to be kids running around unchecked by their parents. Often sick kids, coughing and spreading germs all over the place. It's mostly the parents fault, but I wish the staff would say something -- or carve a small play area out for kids. The waiting room's pretty big -- big enough to carve out a play area. Made an appointment to have blood drawn for my yearly physical. Made the appt last night for this morning at 830 AM. Got in, was greeted by a very pleasant staff, they asked that I check in electronically, used the confirmation code that was emailed to me, and got called in a minute later (yup there a timer screen on the wall with wait times). Bania took me to the back, did a quick 6 vial blood draw, and I was out in about 10 minutes. She was friendly, courteous and super efficient. Only negative is you have to pay for parking (I got charged $3 for 15 mins) but that's not the staffs fault. Don't see why this place isn't 5 stars, but that's what I'm giving it. read more

Went in for an appointment for some blood work they didn't have my doctor's order. They told me they weren't able to help me until I had the order. I called my doctor later that day to re-fax invoice to them. Tried calling the site this morning to confirm if they receive the order can't get a hold of any live person. They Are Super Horrible. I had to wait for 3 and half hours with my 1week old BABY only for getting urine and drawing blood. They are rude, not organized, and uncooperative. They had trouble with getting the order from my doctor, even though my doctor already sent it as a file. And once they got it from fax, they said there's no people who can draw baby's blood and wait more. We could not stand them more so just left there without any test. read more

The front desk staff is not the friendliest or most helpful. You have to show up ready to go and figure out how to sign in at the front. I did not have any issues since I had an appointment with my order on my phone. However, places like these always make me nervous because there's so many people that need some or more assistance.
