Went here to get my H Pylori test done. The lady who deals with all incoming patients is kind and caring and will make sure that you are taken care of on time. I didn't set an appointment and was still able to get in within 60 minutes of my arrival time. This is definitely the best Quest Diagnostics location in the DTLA vicinity. Many other locations that are nearby are sadly beatdown and not exactly where someone in their right mind would want to get their blood drawn. read more

Made my appointment online, showed up early, and they actually took me in ahead of schedule--love that! In and out in under 10 minutes, no drama, no waiting around. The clinic itself is clean, bright, and tucked on the 8th floor with a waiting area that's simple but sufficient. Bonus points for the exam rooms: spotless, well-lit, and with a killer view of Little Tokyo and (I think) the San Gabriel Mountains. I had a good experience here, I found a 30min spot right in front of the building. They are located on the 8th floor, they try their best to get you in and out. The lady at the front wasn't the warmest, but not rude. However, my technician (can't remember her name... maybe Amy, smaller Asian lady) was very calming and funny. Today was a perfect storm for me to have an awful experience (it being all my fault). I got the appointment time wrong by an hour (late), forgot my doctors orders and hadn't eaten so my brain was slow. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't check in (it's because I was late), I didn't get the persons name but they helped me and took me as a walk in. When they saw I didn't have my doc's orders they sent me upstairs (lucky for me my doctor is only one floor up!). They printed the orders, I went back to Quest, they took me right in and did everything with a smile and we made jokes. It's easy to let frustrations with our own shortcomings influence the way our day goes. Remaining calm and treating others with respect and a smile go a long way, life gets a lot easier too. I have to give it to them, the experience I had was smoooth, courteous and actually pleasant (?! Can that be said about bloodwork?). Great job people of Quest! read more

I went to Quest on Sunrise and Madison this morning to get urgent blood tests my oncologist ordered last Friday. When I arrived, there was a sign on the door saying Quest was temporarily closed all day. I made the appointment on line and typically I receive an automated check in on my phone. Quest knows who has appointments and can reach them. They made no effort to tell me ahead of time, not to come. This is the second time I have experienced this at this location in the last year. Here is the back story. I had to get my 86 year old husband who is in late stage Alzheimer's out of bed early, dressed, wound treated, etc. to have him come with me for the appointment. He cannot be left alone. I accepted a 10:30 am appointment even though I had to fast because it was the earliest one available and my oncologist needed the blood work. I find it incredibly insensitive, non- caring and indifferent by Quest to put my family through this without bothering to send an automated message to all of us with important health care need blood draws that states don't come in, we have a problem and can't see you today. Now, I must make another appointment ASAP, hope that there is a morning appointment available this week, fast again and repeat a difficult morning routine. With an automated appointment system is it not possible to alert those who will be denied their scheduled appointment not to come in? As this has now happened twice, I highly recommend going to another place for your blood test that is more thoughtful and compassionate towards their clients. read more

Get to the door at 12:27 One lady answers the door and tells me they are On lunch. I have to wait outside the door on the floor untill 1:30. Thanks. I will never come back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The technician here basically told me after I arrived that I should've fasted prior to my appointment. And she offered to still take my sample, but let me know that it'd be inaccurate - which makes no sense why anyone would have blood tests done but NOT mind them being incorrect. I left and it took 3 additional visits at other offices before I FINALLY got to get my tests done as their offices run COMPLETELY independently from one another, which again would've been great to know at my first visit. read more

The wait is long, even with an appointment. As soon as I walked in, the place was packed. They need more workers or another location near by. The kiosk to check in delays the process even more. When people cannot check in they interrupt the worker trying to get the client in. The waiting room was hot, being full didn't help. Go somewhere else unless you want to sit around and waste time. Made an appointment online for 9:45am on a weekday. Was nervous when I saw reviews of this place but it ended up being fine. Parking is rough- so plan ahead. I checked in and was helped within minutes, and spent less than 20 minutes here. Contrary to what other reviewers say, there is more than one person working here - I would say I saw about 4-5. This place is a joke!!!!!!!!!!!! They eliminated the receptionist and replaced them with an ipad. I have had to assist 4 senior citizens with their check in because they didn't understand the technology and there is NO ONE TO ASSIST THEM. I didn't have an appointment and didn't mind waiting because my Dr. ordered these labs last minute. While they have had a regular stream of appointments I have been watching them through the class having casual conversations when they could have taken me in. It has been 2 hrs at this point and no sense of urgency to assist me. And rudeness and tone in the female tech who keeps coming out is unbelievable. After reading the reviews, I was a little worried to go here. But it was chill. Yuko works fast and efficiently and some may take it the wrong way. Don't get offended. She is doing her job and trying to get people in and out right away. I got there put in my appointment QR code and got helped in less than 10 minutes. This is absolutely the worst location! Train your staff to be more considerate during these times. They offer a program called "wait by text" where you can wait outside/by your car and receive a text message when you're next. You can choose that option when you check in (screen shot both the website and the texted i received after my checkin) and wait either in the hallway (a lot of people walking through) or outside like their website says either in your car or to get fresh air. At first I waited 30 mins in the hallway with three other people but there was so many people walking through i felt uncomfortable and went outside. I added money to my meter (DTLA) and then proceeded to walk up. After being outside for 45 mins and seeing no one in the hallway another guest walked up and went in to checkin. That guests quickly walked out stating she got her screening done quickly and that i should go inside and check. I walked in and the lady in to front asked "are you cliff?" Which I replied "yes, I've been waiting for over 45 mins for a drug test and went down for a quick breather & to add more money in my meter (5-8 mins max)." To my surprise I was responded with "well that's not my fault I called you." Called me? I received no messages (phone call or text) and if you did call out my name and saw I was gone why didn't you check again or why didn't I receive the wait by text, more time since you have implemented the rule of no waiting in the waiting room?" She continued to just state that "she called my name" and let me to feel this was all my fault. I declined my screening and said i wouldn't want you to handle it anyways and walked out. Why have a program when your centers are using them??? Horrible experience! I was overcrowded and the desk clerk was VERY rude. They have this shield that isn't properly installed at the front desk. It needs to be, because I knocked it over. It is wobbly af, and the receptionist was all hysterical that it sort of fell on her. It actually fell on the computer. I apologized and she kept ranting on and on about it. Even when I left, she couldn't stfu about it. What a drama queen! She needs to learn to be cool, and accept apologies for something that was not really my fault. I told her I was here for urine drug screen, then she laughed and said out loud I was here just like everybody else!!! There were about 7 men behind me and laughed too! Look for a big green building with 420. You're in the right place if there's a flower shop on your right and Pacific Commerce Bank on your left. Take the back elevators to the 8th floor cuz it's located in Suite 802. Metered street parking only. One side is 2 hour parking between 8am-8pm and the other side is 4 hour parking. Parking is $1.50/hr. **TIP: Bring coins or credit/debit card to pay for metered parking! OPERATIONS INFO Drug screening hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 10am - 12:30pm and 1:30 pm - 3pm. **TIP: CLOSED between 12:30pm - 1:30pm for Lunch! DRUG SCREENING PROCESS The Asian lady checked me in, took my authorization form and ID, and took me in immediately. She led me to the bathroom and had me place my purse and anything in my pockets in a secure locked box. After washing hands, she instructed me to pee in the cup and told me I had 3 minutes. Was barely even 2 minutes in and she was already knocking on the door asking if I've finished. At least let me wipe first lady, damn! After my specimen was collected and labeled, she returned my ID and gave me a receipt. I was in and outta there in half an hour! **TIP: Drink LOTS of water at least 1-2 hours before you come cuz they'll need a urine sample for the drug screening! This is the best Quest. It is in the heart of the city - Downtown L.A. But it happens to be in an area that doesn't get started until like 9am. I make my appointment for the first one (at 8:30). I get there at 8:20 and there is plenty of metered parking on the street. I go in to the office right before 8:30. There are only 10 chairs in the waiting room. Yuko the solo employee greets me and takes my paperwork. She processed it and took me into the exam room. She took my blood and I was done. In and out in about 6 minutes. I didn't even get a chance to sit down. No one else in the waiting room - before or after my appointment. I will always come back here. read more

And yes there is only ONE lady running the entire lab- receptionist/phlebotomist. It does get very hectic, but she is sweet and does her job well. My tip would be to make your appointment in the early morning as it starts getting busy once 10:30 - 11 rolls along. I've been coming here to run various tests required by my OBGYN for the past 6 months, and contrary to other reviews, I've never had a bad experience here. What I do see is lots of irritated people that want to get in and out without an appointment or proper paperwork, and so they take it out on the poor lady and call it bad service. read more

My husband set up my appointment for a pre employment drug screen this morning. He did not look at the fine print, so we were not aware of the designated time slots for urinating in a cup. That being said, we take ownership in not reading the complete set of instructions. What is not appreciated nor solicited was the sarcastic responses, and the eye rolling from the receptionist Yuko. We felt she was rude and unprofessional and informed her that she was rude. She did not even seem to care that she was unprofessional and rude to us. I guess she doesn't have to worry about Patient satisfaction scores like the rest of healthcare system . When asked to reschedule she pointed to a business card and stated not her department. I've gotten many blood draws here, and this place is overall a quick and efficient place to get your blood draws done. Overall, pretty much no one wants to go to Quest Diagnostics, but this place makes it as painless as possible. Pros: This is an efficient Quest location, provided you have an appointment. The regular phlebotomist (Yuko) is good at her job and will definitely get your blood on the first try, no problems. She is a one-woman show (the only person in the office), but she gets through the line pretty quickly. If there's an issue with your doctor's lab order, Yuko will try to figure it out, so you can get your test done and be on your way. You should definitely make an appointment online before coming, to get the fastest service possible. Also, there's usually free street parking available within 1-2 blocks, or you can pay for the meters along 3rd St. Cons: Although the website says this location closes at 4:30pm, the doors are sometimes locked at like 4:27pm. Also, occasionally Yuko is been absent and there is a substitute phlebotomist (a young light-haired Caucasian man), and he is difficult to deal with -- questions every lab order, needs to call the doctor's office to confirm everything, and he has sometimes refused to do my test for various not-valid reasons, which necessitated another trip for me. read more

I visit Quest several times per year to have blood work. Staff at every location I've used, various in Torrance, Hawthorne, DTLA, Boyle Heights, have been friendly and attentive. Some are gentler when inserting the needle into the skin. On a few occassions, I MAN up and hold the tears.....Ouchy! Maybe it's because I don't like needles. Only complaint is that there is only one location near me open on Saturday. read more

I love going to this quest. Every other quest that I go to has extremely long wait times. Most times I'm not able to make an appointment because I don't know when I'll ever have the chance to go. At this quest, I usually go without an appointment, and the most I'll ever wait is 20 minutes. The wait room is extremely small, but there is rarely more than 3 people waiting for their blood to be drawn. The main lady that works there has a pretty thick accent, so she may be hard to understand at times - but she's really nice. The only downside about this location is the parking. It's only meter parking and it can be hard to find. There's a little street where I usually find parking, but there's always homeless people camping out there, so just be careful. read more

I had to take a drug test as part of the hiring process for a previous job. After looking around for a Quest Diagnostics to visit, I quickly realize they all have bad ratings. So I end up here. I came in super early, before they were even open. Yuko opens the door (she's mentioned in other reviews) & seems nice. I sign in & take a seat. As I'm sitting I'm chugging my water bottle ensuring that I'm "ready to go" when the time comes. Yuko calls me up, takes my printed order I brought with me then proceeds to tell me drug tests are at 10:00am. That's more than an hour away! I've now drank all this water, I can't hold it THAT long. She then says, I'll see you sooner if possible. So I politely ask her, how much sooner? It's currently 8:30am & you said drug testing does not start until 10:00am. She says the website could've told me this information & I once again politely inform her that the website is confusing & therefore I called & set my appointment with the automated service (which is just as crappy). The website even instructs you to call, as the times listed may not be accurate. There was no live person to answer my questions. I try to remain calm & take a seat. People keep walking in & she quickly helps them. She must have seen over a dozen people who came in after me. I'm now in some pain as I drank a whole bottle of water. I inform her that I really have to use it & she just ignores me. I start pacing this tiny office, not caring about who else is here, I'm about to burst. I even stared sweating. My lower back is also hurting. My kidneys can't take much more. I REALLY have to go. FINALLY, at about 9:50am she decides she can help me. She walks me to the restroom, shows me a metal box where I am to put all of my possessions. Jacket, scarf, purse, headphones... everything is locked in this box while I use the restroom. She walks me in, throws some pills it appears in the toilet & instructs me not to flush when I'm done. As I'm almost done she asks if I'm finished. She then walks in takes me to another room & she tells me that I'm done. I initial my tube of urine & I can leave. Her attitude was so non apologetic. It really sucks that this is how they operate. There's a need for their service, so they'll always be in business. I just wish that there was a little more customer service. Everything with me took 5-10 minutes. I was nervous about coming to this location because of all the reviews. I have to take my son to a quest to get his annual blood work done but all the other ones I have taken him to have always been horrible! They can never find his vein and leave his arm super bruised. The last one he went to (on Wilshire) made me go back a second time because they couldn't find his vein and poked him twice and said by law they were not able to do it again. (Idk how true that is) My experience here was amazing! Our appointment was at 9:15 AM so we got there around 9:12 AM and there was only one person sitting outside of the rooms. There was a super nice lady that greeted us (Yukon), took our paperwork and insurance card, and immediately walked us in. We were in and out of there within 10 minutes. She found his vein easily on the first try! Idk if I got lucky or if ppl are just really impatient but I'm so glad after years I finally found a good quest location lol read more

I'm so impressed at how fast and helpful the staff was at my appointment today. I had a bit of a complicated situation and they were super nice about letting me ask questions and waiting for me to call my primary care doctor to make sure that I was getting the right things done. Thankfully, it was pretty dead in the office so I don't think I was holding anyone up. They didn't rush me or make me feel like a burden or anything.
