My first 7 years of the cancer adventure was at Moffitt in Tampa. When I moved to the Gainesville area, I was nervous about finding someone new, and I called Dr Stoer at G.S.C.C. I could not have made a better choice. Everyone I saw at the place, from techs, to nurses to all the Dr.s, and I saw them all, were great. I had the utmost confidence when I walked in, whether it was for an exam or a procedure, I knew I was in good hands. After 5 years there, a life event moved me to the center of the state, near Orlando, and sent me searching for new care. I have now, in the past year and a half, seen 2 different Dermatologist in that area, and have not been happy with either. I miss the confidence that I used to have walking out of G.S.C.C. A botched skin graft, and now a scary, described treatment for a cancer on my leg has me calling on G.S.C.C. again. I will gladly drive the 160 mile round trip, if Doc Stoer and the crew will let me back in. Live and learn.

The front desk people were kind enough to explain how everything works with insurance and everything, which I greatly appreciated, since I had no idea because it was my first time going to the doctors alone. The nurse practitioner was super sweet and fun, and made us feel at ease.

The one thing that i noticed that was different at this office versus last years MRI at a different Shands location, was no mirror by your head to see operator running your test. Also no headphones with music , just ear plugs and foam blocks by your ears. Each locations has different styles of machines, so take that into account when scheduling a scan. I learned that today. The 2 ladies /nurses /technicians did take great care of me and communicated throughout the MRI process with me.

In all of my visits, I've never seen trash, dirt, or anything else out of place. It also has a good amount of natural light, which helps me feel more relaxed. Dr. Taylor and her hygienists are open with their processes and explain the steps they're taking well. I've had a cavity filled there and an old filling removed and replaced, and both procedures were so simple and painless. (Routine cleanings are easy and go as they should.) Definitely consider heading here if you think you'll need more involved dental work - everyone is so nice, and they really do try to minimize any pain.

She was very organized and very efficient. She was also very polite and obviously has strong work ethic. The entire blood draw from entry to the room to exit from the room was only a few short minutes. Exceptional service.

Fortunately, they were proactive and did not have the usual three reams of paperwork to fill out. The checked on my VA health care benefits and I ended up using another insurance as the path of least resistance but they gave me the number to call to get the VA thing squared away. This has got to be the closest to a small-town doctor's office of old that I could imagine. All family run, from the front desk to the nurse to the doc himself. They listened, they gave suggestions to help mitigate the discomfort. The only thing they couldn't do was speed up the recovery.....they can't control time. What they do do is respect your time. In and out in a jiffy but not rushed at all. They prove medical care shouldn't be an all-day affair. I left there feeling sick but knowing I was on the path to recovery.
