I was very impressed with Quest Diagnostics in Darien. I had made an appointment online and found the process very intuitive. Upon arrival, I signed in at the kiosk and within minutes was taken back. The young woman who drew my blood, (Patrice), was both pleasant and very efficient. I was in the door, registered, had the blood draw, and was done in 20 minutes, start to finish. very long wait, about 15 people ahead of me. the kiosk style service is frustrating, the seating is very close and there are sick people sitting on top of each other....too many jammed into a small waiting area with seating on a cold window sill. My wait was at least 35 minutes. Employees are not cheerful or helpful. I won't go back to Darien. read more

Only writing a review because the other reviews had me really worried. I was 15 minutes late to my appointment so I was panicking and you can't get anyone on the phone. I went anyways and checked in at the kiosk which had me rebook for 20 minutes later. They took me promptly and Stephen gave me a pain-free blood draw. read more

Skip it. Long waits even with appts. Order was in the system but not found which made the wait even more extended. Use another location.

Wait times are terrible even with an appointment. It literally takes a worker 20 minutes to do one blood draw.

It's hard to adequately describe what a pitiful place Darien Quest is. First, they push you to have an appointment so you won't have to wait. But you do wait. And wait. And wait. Second, I've seen bus stations that were more attractive than the waiting area here. Third, not one member of the staff smiled or had a courteous word to say to anyone. No apology for keeping people waiting. Seriously, robots would do a better job. Fourth, after waiting 52 minutes after my appointed time, I left. I would never, ever go to a Quest facility again. I hope someone from AETNA reads this, for all the emails they send telling members to go to Quest or LabCorp. read more

I genuinely felt unsafe. I wanted to leave to preserve my own health, but social decorum prevented me from just leaving... and it makes me angry that I didn't assert myself on the spot. The lady who was working with me is probably a nice person, but she is a terrible employee. Amazingly unprofessional and UTTERLY distracted. While she was wearing two masks that appeared to be fitted correctly, she proceeded to tell me all about how she had COVID and her disgusting experiences with it... all while about 3 feet from my face. She told me how she couldn't smell her own excrement, and how she apparently "beat" COVID by eating garlic and some kind of seeds. This person is scientifically illiterate. When she wasn't talking about COVID in my face, she was complaining about customers at her location. The location, by the way, is dirty and kind of disgusting. They have to "turn on the water" in order for you to use the bathroom... as if this is something completely normal. Pre-COVID, I have had fairly good experiences at this location, but I'm not choosing to come here again. read more

Had an appt and checked in online so wouldn't have to go inside. There was a list of people who checked in and all had appts. even though my appt was at 9:30, it said I had to wait 47 minutes. Then I finally got a text that it was my turn and went inside only to be told to go wait again. Ridiculous. Never again. read more

Called to make an appointment for my employer required drug screening. The robot voice directed me to the Norwalk office. When I get there I'm told that "drug screenings aren't done in this office". By this time, the Darien office is closed. Made an appointment in Darien for the following day (Through the robot voice). Been to this facility several times in the last decade or so. Middle age black lady, working there, is always very pleasant, even when she's busy. This visit I dealt with a short snippy Latin lady who's only concern was processing as many people as possible. Felt like I was working for her I work harder than you could imagine, honey. That attitude is unnecessary. (tl;dr) Ask for Maureen W, she's awesome :) I have always had a lovely experience at each Quest I have been to, but I'm annoyed I have never visited their Darien location. Truly a 10/10. This location was very clean, had minimal employees, and minimal foot traffic. They leave the front door open when it's nice out so the waiting room doesn't get stuffy, but of course you also have the option to wait in your car, conveniently parked 15 feet away from the front door. It is the only Quest location I have ever experienced a timely appointment at - most other locations I experience at least a 20 minute wait, despite showing up 5 minutes early. Maureen W was absolutely lovely - a fantastic nurse and personable, too! I have pretty tough veins, they roll and are difficult to see/find to begin with. Maureen W was the first nurse who not only got my vein on the first try, but was actually able to position the needle to follow my vein up - I have never seen my blood flow so quickly! Seriously, the most efficient poke I have ever experienced. I ALWAYS develop wild bruises after bloodwork, but I am happy to report that I have absolutely no bruise 10 hours after my appointment. Chatting with Maureen during the appointment was really great. I've had limited contact with the outside world since the pandemic began, and now that I'm fully immunized, I am glad my first real conversation I had with a stranger was with Maureen. She empathized with my small talk and left me feeling excited/hopeful for the future. People like Maureen give me renewed faith in humanity. read more

Dear possible patrons of Quest Diagnostics, Run. This branch of Quest Diagnostics could have shivved me in a shower, and it would have been better service. As part of a routine STD test at my local pediatrics office, which send their samples to the Post Road Branch of Quest, I urinated in a cup. My urine was sent to Quest and returned a day later with a positive result for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. I found out a few weeks later, that due to either sheer incompetence or a disdain for medical science in general, the wonderful people at Quest Diagnostics had messed up my test, resulting in an enormous amount of stress and many tears. But the story doesn't end with a false positive test, my dear yelp readers. For several months I have been trying to get my blood tested for diabetes markers, and I have been to this Branch of Quest over 8 times, and each time the staff, that seems to have been dragged in off of a street and given nursing scrubs, has given me a new, previously unheard of reason why I cannot be tested for diabetes. At this point, I kind of would rather deal with the possibility of being diabetic and STD riddled than having to deal with the atrocious service and genuinely awful staff at Quest Diagnostics. But I am not the only one who has had such an awful experience at Quest. My sister, who actually has diabetes, was able to get her blood drawn, but the attendant who drew her blood left a tennis ball sized bruise on her arms, after jabbing the needle sloppily into her arm with little regard for my sister's wellbeing or general human decency. All in all, please don't go here. If it is convenient because the branch is closer to you, I'd recommend going the extra five or ten minutes to the branch in Norwalk. If you can't get to Norwalk, there are several bridges over Long Island Sound tributaries that you'd be better off leaping from than going to the Post Road Quest Diagnostics. Workers were extremely rude. The woman at the desk barely said a word to me and just pointed to the digital check in. Then another woman in the back yelled is someone here for drop off- I went to walk to the back there's no one in site..I ask hello? Someone said drop off? No one comes out of a room but shouts "over here". This locational was unprofessional to say the least. read more

Miss Tracy was SO nice to my son, who was so scared to have his blood drawn. She was WONDERFUL to him!

Had horrible experience today. We were told that certain labs are only done till 12 PM like quantiferon. We were told to go to another location as they can do the labs till 3 and they will fax the script over. I checked twice to confirm where they were sending the script but in the end when we reached the Stamford location we were told that Darien location never faxed anything. I would like to add that Stamford people were warm and helped us reach out to physicians office for the labs. Please go to quest Stamford for all your needs instead of Darien. read more

Walk in versus appointments baffles me. I walked in at 7:55 am. They took the 8 am apt first who arrived at 8:15. Then took the 8:15 apt . Then took 8:30 apt. Then the 8:45. Does this mean I wait until closing time so that all appointments go first? There has to be a better way. Next time i will make an appointment but if others are unaware....this is my advice. Quest should consider shutting this branch down if they are not going to monitor the caliber of people the management is hiring. I came in for some routine tests and fortunately was not sick or feeling poorly when I made my appointment. It is unfathomable how a person in poor health would have felt had they experienced the abuse I took in this place. The tip off should have been when I walked in and sat down to have my blood drawn. The phlebotomist didn't greet me or even speak to me. He just looked at the sheet of paper, snatched up my arm, slapped on a tourniquet and started smacking my hand. Then he jammed a needle into my arm in a way that made my mind rattle with the idea that this guy might actually be a serial killer who has broken into Quest, killed all of the nice people and is slowly torturing people before he slits their throats and fries up their kidneys. Yeah. Total disgruntled, angry, loathsome guy. How does he even have a job working with living creatures? No bedside manner. Completely devoid of anything that resembled professionalism, compassion and/or human empathy. Don't go here unless you're a sadist who loves to deal with unhappy people. I am livid. read more

Luz was amazing!!! I've had terrible experiences having blood drawn in the past and she was wonderful. No pain, and able to get all the tests drawn on one prick. So patient, warm, lovely. I will absolutely be coming back here for all future lab work. read more
