I am very lucky to have been "given" Dr Wiswe as my PCP. I have been her patient for about 10…read moreyears. The office staff can be very busy and I know that sometimes we want to be treated as if we were the only person who matters. I have found that if I go in with a smile on my face, I always get one back. The patient portal is a great tool for communicating with your doctor between visits. We have moved 50 minutes away and I'm not changing doctors.

Today I received a nasty letter stating that I didn't reply to a letter they allegedly sent me in February. The letter went on to chastise me for not coming in within the past year, and indicated that if I do not contact them "now" to schedule an appointment, they will be contacting my insurance carrier. They will tell the carrier that I have elected to discontinue my "assignation" with their providers. The letter went on to state that they will only be able to provide me with emergency care until 5/14/26, as "this 30 day period should allow you adequate time to locate and select another physician of your choice. We strongly recommend that you place yourself with another provider as soon as possible." Keep in mind that I received this letter today, May 5, 2026. The letter is dated 4/14/26, and the practice is about a fifteen minute drive from my house. So they put me on notice that they're also putting my insurance carrier on notice that "our doctor/patient relationship will be terminated." Good. Saves me the trouble.

So, they asked me the normal questions, DOB, NAME, ADDRESS, basically reassured what they had in their database. Then she went over my blood work, giving me details on the numbers and findings. I soon left afterwards. I get an invoice some weeks later for 45.00. I called my insurance company and asked if my yearly physical was covered, they said yes. As they dug deeper, they said it appears it was for a second visit. I said I didn't see them again only once. They said do you mind if I call them, which they did while I was on hold. They told them we spoke about my Thyroid. So, they charged me a second visit. I went to this appt for my physical and to discuss my blood work which one of the panels was for my thyroid. I called the office numerous times, asking for Melissa, said she was busy and would call me back between patients, never got called back, spoke to Billing they were as useless as a horn on an airplane. Round and round we go. I know it's only 45.00 but you times that by the hundreds of patients they see and that adds up $$$$$..BE CAREFUL WITH THIS PLACE...

Note I didnt use the term healthcare professional since it wouldn't be accurate. The "dr" never examined me. Told me without getting any of my history or even asking where it hurts that I had mismanaged my back issues and should go see a specialist. It was the worst experience and interaction that I have had with someone who should be trying to treat you not lecture you.

From the first minute of seeing my history he asked why I was not seeing my PCP. I explained that he was located in NY and I have dual residences. He then went onto condemn and lecture me that one of the scripts my PCP was providing me with was illegal & that my doctor in NY does not have authority to provide me with the following medication I have been on for 23 years. Yes it's Fentanyl. I am prescribed it for a non corrective back disorder & have been taking it responsibly for almost half my life. Not that it is anyone's business, I am in the process of getting off of this medication and come from 75mcg per hour down to 12.5mcg per hour with a goal to be off of this medicine by December of this year. I said we are getting off subject of this visit which was a rash with bumps on parts of my body. He continued to lecture me and almost scold me for doing what I am doing. My PCP has been my doctor for 24 years and that was my answer. I have spoken to Eric at the corporate office of Patient First. I have never met this doctor & it was uncomfortable for me to be put into this situation. The corporate office has registered my complaint and experience and I was told that this doctor will receive additional education on this issue. I did not ask for my back disorder and have tried everything humanly possible over the last 24 years including ES injections, nerve root blocks and facet joint injections. This is my third visit this year with this exact location and the two prior doctors/ PA's have been very supportive and helpful. I am so tired of the stigma surrounding this drug but understand what it is doing to peoples lives and the loss of life because of the illegal importation of this drug. Doctors have the responsibility to educate their patients but this visit to this walk-in location was not about pain or pain management. They have a sign up in the entrance that says "we do not dispense controlled substances or pain medication". I was not there for that, I was there for a rash. It seems to be a political agenda for some of these doctors who took a Hippocratic oath to treat the patients they see and provided medical care, treatment and suggestions relating to the issue at hand.
