This location is easy to access and seems clean, but a routine blood draw left me bruised. I'm not pleased, as I get blood drawn at my doctor's office and they use a thinner needle and never leave a mark. I have had my blood drawn here before and the tech evidently poked the needle all the way through my vein, leaving me with a blood bruise on the underside of my arm that went from my elbow almost to my wrist and took three weeks to dissipate.

My daughter had to go to the ER after having blood drawn here. You can't get in touch with anyone at Quest. Will never go back.

I'm known as a hard stick and sometimes need a specialist. Previously, at other places, I've had multiple people attempt multiple times. So, I very much appreciated the stellar skills of TeQuan. Thanks much, T. Detailed Review: I had a 9:30 AM appointment on a Saturday and arrived 15 minutes early, per Labcorp instructions. There were three automated check-in machines in a not very large waiting area that had seating for about 25 or so people. At least 40 people were in there with more waiting outisde, so quite crowded. Therefore, make an appointment online... a day before, if possible, to reduce your wait time. I was in/out in just under 45 minutes, 35 minutes of which were waiting just outside the front door. People who were walk-ins probably waited in excess of an hour. You scan your driver's license/picutre ID on a kiosk machine upon entering the office, and it marks you as arrived with an option to enter your email address or phone to receive a notification. That allows you to wait outside or in your car without missing your turn. That's smart. Also, there was a monitor high up on the wall that listed everyone's last name and showed whether they had an appointment or were walk-in (nearly everyone was walk-in during the time I was there). You were able to see where your place was in the waiting queue -very helpful. Aesthetically, the place looks very run down... I'm talking about the faux wood floor boards had come up in several places and were pasted back down with lots of cracks showing a blue underflooring. It looked like it needed to be painted (white door separating the waiting room and tech rooms was all scuffed and blackened... likely from strollers, wheelchairs, and sneakers knocking against it). It had that old restaurant that you like to eat at kind of clean/dirty vibe... meaning it looked crappy aesthetically but you somehow had confidence that the important parts were well cleaned/sanitary. There was also a super-sized lumpy but well-cushioned chair for the blood draw. I weigh as much as 3 thin adult women (no not a joke but a fact and I'm working on that). So, I very much appreciated the gigantic chair. I easily fit into it and didn't have to jump up to get on either. If you are in need of that, you are in luck. As for the cleanliness of the blood draw room -zero complaints. I had confidence it was well-cleaned and sanitary even though the clinic itself has seen better days and is long overdue for a makeover. Now... here is the most important part. There were two people behind the glass assisting patients with check-in. I had very little interaction with them but they were polite to myself and others as I observed. I think they handled the busy room perfectly and all the people seemed chill and not agitated enduring the wait patiently. There were many families there and the crowd of patients seemed normal (not sketchy). I don't know how many techs were on duty, I only saw two or three pop out from the back but there were surely more. As mentioned above, I was very impressed with my phlebotomist. He was not only phenomenal with the blood draw but seemed like a nice person. I asked some questions and he was patient, friendly, and helpful. For this and all the above reasons, I would go back (with an appointment) despite how ugly the office looks and how busy it was. Apparently, it's like that every Saturday. I don't recommend this location for the very sick, frail elderly, or those in a wheelchair who need more personal space unless you make an appointment and try to come during the week at a time when it is not super crowded. Also, there was plenty of parking surrounding the office but it might be more difficult to find a spot (you'll need to wait) during peak times.

Free parking, a short wait, and an excellent phlebotomist all make this location my favorite…read moreLabCorp. This is head and shoulders above my experiences at the Arlington office, so I'll always make the drive here from Arlington when I can.

Having had some major and very difficult billing issues with LabCorp in the past, I submitted the orders to Quest. I was able to schedule a blood draw within two days of my request and found the Quest Diagnostics facility embedded in the Safeway market in Alexandria, on King Street - very convenient. This was a heavy-duty set of orders - more than a dozen tests. I was able to use Quest's on-line check-in protocol the day before I visited the facility. Upon completing that process online, I printed out the QR code that was issued once I completed the check-in. I arrived about 20 minutes early for my blood draw, and scanned the QR code. Within minutes, actually as soon as I sat down in the waiting room, I was called in for the draw, even though I arrived a few minutes early. The two staff members carefully studied the set of orders, and checked, and then rechecked, that the draw would comply with my doctor's orders. The phlebotomist did a great job drawing my blood, and despite the complexity of the orders, I was out of the facility within 15 minutes. This was a convenient location, and the draw was expertly accomplished. So thanks, very much!

However, there were several concerns during the draw: - He did not wash or sanitize his hands even though hand sanitizer was available on the side table and I offered it verbally. - He brought only one pair of gloves and used them after touching a non-sterile pillow, with no clean pair to switch into. - After using alcohol to prep the site, he wiped the site with a rough gauze that accidentally scratched my skin. (Past phlebotomists just let it air dry.) - The pressure wrap applied afterward wasn't even looped around my arm twice, so it didn't stay in place.

My doctor ordered a test kit that other labs wouldn't touch. The doctor's office suggested a local…read moremobile phlebotomist which included Remon's business. He was very quick to respond and when I called, he was able to stop by the same day as he was near by. He provided an estimated time and texted me updates when he would arrive. When he arrived, he was well prepared and checked over the test kit and noticed that the mailing bag was missing which I was able to easily find. He was very quick and it was very obvious he has a lot of experience. He explained what the test required running it through a centrifuge before he can mail it to the lab. He was done very quickly and was out the door in only a few minutes. This was so convenient that I plan to check with him for my future lab work.

When they did they said it wasn't signed by the Dr. it was signed by the NP who is licensed to authorize medical orders. Then, after waiting an hour I went to see what was going on. The receptionist told me that they needed me to fill out a questioner. Something I could have done while I was waiting for an hour but she didn't tell me, and probably never would have if I hadn't asked. Still getting NOWHERE. When I asked her why she didn't give me the form when I came in she said she was too busy looking for my orders. Apparently can't multitask. Seems the questionnaire would be a standard form that she shouldn't have to think about. I'd still be waiting for it if it hadn't asked. The full waiting room of 45 minutes ago is nearly empty now and every one of those people got here after o did. If you come here, do not deal with the woman with the short gray hair behind the desk. She doesn't have a clue what she's doing. Update: After horrid front desk, the tech who ran my test, Victor, was excellent. He explained the procedure, all the details. Made me feel comfortable and at ease. He was efficient, professional and had a sense of humor. He answered my questions, even the silly ones with answers that were actually answers proving that he listened. Afterwards he explained when the Dr would receive the results and asked if I had an appt scheduled with the Dr. I did talk to the office mgr about the front desk woman. Hopefully they had a chat about procedure and customer facing behavior. See Victor, the tech, skip Christina at the desk. If she offers to help you, wait for someone else.
