Their burrito bowl regular size was allot less in quantity than expected. There was barley anything in the bowl. The quinoa was undercooked .Very wet and sloppy too. The feel of this establishment is home in Latin America. Plants and grapes all around. Nice murals on the wall with lots of art. Service was fantastic, Juan (Joe) was our waiter, he is also the owner. He explained the menu, asked what we liked, and had recommendations for us. The menu is very simple. Nothing fancy on the menu I had the pork steak with beans and rice, very delicious. My wife ordered the burrito rice and beans on the side. I also got some homemade salsa on the side that was habanero it was very hot in a good way! While eating it seemed like we were eating in his home. Service was fantastic. I recommend this hidden gem for great food and service. Very clean environment. The chips and mango salsa was amazing.

Fish taco - Very good, great slaw, good moist fish. Beef Cheddar Crunch taco - classic, wish the chips were flavored but they looked cool. Wraps were nice and soft. Tots and beer cheese was delicious. Tots were well cooked, hot, crispy. Cheese was creamy, had a slight spicy kick. 10/10 if that is what your craving.

All the other waitress had to say was "oh she is new so that's why she didn't warn you" inexcusable regardless. I puked the food up about a couple of hours after I ate there. State & Main tries to be authentic, but comes off as generic Canadian pub fare. It's an Original…read moreJoe's copycat with room for minors. My first foray at State was on Mother's Day Sunday. Our party of 5 was greeted and quickly taken to a table on the dining room side. The high-top table was comfortable, with a leather bench on two sides, and a chair on the third (the waitresses, however, had trouble reaching the top to pour water). The food menu is pretty typical: appetizers, sandwiches, salads, "favourites", and burgers, as well as steak. Our group got an order of wings and an order of gyoza to start, and a range of dishes for our meal. Both starters were good - the wings were extra crispy, although not terribly meaty. I ordered the Grilled Cheeseburger for my meal, with sides of Caesar salad and poutine. This was a bit disappointing. The burger came out cold, and with an unmelted slice of processed cheddar. I sent it back to the kitchen to be fixed. The second attempt was better - the burger was on top the cheese, so it actually melted this time. The whole thing was gigantic - more than I could comfortably eat, and was flavoured enough to not need extra condiments. The poutine, however, was also a bit sad - the gravy wasn't hot enough to melt the cheese curds, so I effectively ate fries and gravy while leaving the cheese chunks to the side. Nobody else in my party really had any issues with their meals - curry, a rice bowl, butter chicken, and ribs, so it looks like I just got unlucky. I'll likely try it again, but I'll stick to a salad or saucy dish that will be better if served cold. 3/5 due to cold food, uninspired menu, and a general inability to impress.

Wood damage near the window fronting the main parking lot. We couldn't ask to move because we took the last seats for the evening. I killed three bugs by grabbing paper towels from the women's washroom at different times because they were coming up from the wood. Then my teenager informed me not to kill the last bug because he sees ants crawling up and will carry the last bug to their home. I couldn't see ants on my side. He was right. Carpenter ants carried the fourth dead bug back inside the damaged wood. I asked my husband and son if they wanted to leave the restaurant and we could eat elsewhere. They said no I think we'll be OK. Strike 2: Lack of communication: Our female Server kept refilling my husband's beverage without informing us or not providing an apology there will be a longer wait time for a reason. Strike 3: Wait time: Our meals took one hour to arrive at our table without any apology. Food: Berry Bison Bramble burger with fries was phenomenal! Bison Patty with blackberry jam, including fresh blackberries, crumbled, goat cheese, spinach, tomatoes, and sautéed mushrooms served on a pretzel bun took this burger to a whole new level. Womens' washroom has a beautiful decor and interior design, stocked with hygiene products at no charge. Free parking in a dedicated lot. I gave two stars for the reasons listed above. I see potential and hope to see this family business thrive in the future.
