The Queens Park Cafe has got a great spot in the centre of Queens Park itself.
As far as local park cafes go, this one is quite upmarket and reflects the change of residents in the local area due to the high increase in property prices in recent years. They do a great latte and have quite an extensive menu. As the cafe is open from 9am to about 8pm during the summer months, the menu reflects this. They offer all the usual breakfast fayre. They also affer lots of different pastries and cafes. Salads and pasta seem to be the mainstay of the lunch and early evening menu.
I really like having a coffee here when the weather is nice, as they have an extensive seating area outside, as well as plenty of internal eating.
As much as I like this place, it only gets 3 stars for me. There are two reasons for this. The toilets are run by the City of London and are external to the cafe. They really are in need of a refurbishment. Also, although the cost of refreshments are reasonable, I find that the food menu is a bit expensive for waht is really a park cafe. Why would you want to pay almost £8 when you could walk just a few minutes away to places like Jacks Cafe and Hugo's and get a good breakfast for a much lower price? read more
