I read about this place in Tucson Foodie and made a point of taking the whole family. We have 8-year-old and 6-year-old boys who are adventurous eaters. The food was amazing! The service was prompt and courteous. The spice level was perfect for the more delicate palettes of the kiddos. We were blown away by how delicious everything was. We will definitely be back! Bravo! read more

We loved our meal when we tried this place, excellent spices, generous portions, friendly owner. Delicious!

Amazing place! Great portions, flavors and price! Manna was our waitress and she was awesome! Definitely will be a repeat customer! They don't serve alcoholic beverages but you are welcome to bring your own. read more

Wow!! Eritrean restaurant in Tucson Arizona!!! First time ever to try it and nice to have this little gem in Tucson. There are other couple of Ethiopian restaurants in the city which have very similar cuisine to Eritrean; however, there is some differences in the spice and way of cooking, so definitely worth to try and experience it. I ordered the large Veggie Combo and it was a great combination of red lentils (beresen), alisha (yellow split peas), potatoes/cabbage, -and Chick peas.It was great and I had left overs to take home. Also, try their tea which comes with cardamom and other spices. The place is small but at the same time spacious, clean organized and decorative with beautiful portraits exposing Eritrean/African culture. The service was very friendly and relatively quick; I was very well welcomed and they make you feel like you are at home. I'll definitely plan to come again. Thanks! read more

Queen Sheba's excellent. The traditional menu's extensive and varied; it caters to all tastes and preferences. The food's excellent, the portions generous. The restaurant's warm and comfortable. The hospitality Welday and his family've extended to us has made our experiences dining at Queen Sheba that much more special. My family and I always look forward to visiting Queen Sheba. We can't recommend the restaurant highly enough. read more

Delicious food and a great deal. We've been there twice now and we've enjoyed it both times. The meat and veggie sampler combos are the way to go if you've not had this type of food before. read more

I'm always skeptical of new restaurants, but I experienced serendipity with this place. A long time ago, I ate at an African restaurant in Phoenix. The food there was very good, but I didn't like the Injera bread. So I shied away from african foods. However, the Injera bread at Queen Sheba is very good. Don't know why I didn't like the one in Phoenix- had a taste I didn't like, but at this Tucson restaurant, the bread is tangy and delicious. We tried the chicken and beef dishes and both are excellent. You pay about 1 or 2 bucks more than other restaurants (about 9.50 - 10.00 per dish), but they serve up a generous portion. Try it! You'll be pleased. The owners (I'm assuming they're the owners) are very friendly. read more

I ordered the veggie tray which is a variety of lentil bean preparations, a cooked cabbage serving, and a serving of cooked spinach to finish it off. It is served w a slightly bitter bread that has a sponge texture which offsets the vegetable sampling well. Very authentic. Extremely kind owners. Give it a shot read more

Queen Sheba - African Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

Amazing little hole in the wall. As others have stated, the owner is very friendly. Food comes out fast and the portions are huge. You can tell a lot of love has gone into the food. The taste is fantastic. I had the vegetarian platter read more

This is Eritrean and is similar to Zenams. The prices are reasonable. One nice feature is you can make your own combo. The first thing you are asked is it you would like some tea. It is $1.75. No sweetener is provided. You can have it iced. I enjoyed the food. The vegetarian dishes are well seasoned. The cool adds a little of every kind of veg e dish whether you order it, so you get a taste of all of them. The meat dishes are flavorful and are easy to eat. The proprietor who is also the owner, is nice and pretty hep. read more

I LOVE this restaurant!! It is beautiful inside and the Eritrean food is exquisite and very reasonable.

The food is delicious, the portions are huge, and the price is right. Friendly service. Go check it out.

Small and clean restaurant. Everyone enjoyed the complimentary tea. The veggie combo was very tasty and the beef combo (think flavorful meat stew) was also very good. I got the avocado salad. It was simple, but a perfect complement for all the flavors in my meal. The service was friendly and prompt. The prices and portions are very reasonable. I highly recommend this new local restaurant for a lunch, a very casual dinner, or even take-out. Please support great local businesses like this. read more

A quaint little restaurant called Queen Sheba recently opened in the north central part of Tucson that serves authentic Eritrean (much like Ethiopian) cuisine. The place is easy to find and offers both inside and outside courtyard dining. Parking is easy and right out front of the restaurant. When we entered the owner and an incredible aroma of spices immediately greeted us. We were seated and offered an excellent cup of cardamom and cinnamon flavored tea. We were not disappointed when the food arrived; it was amazing; we decided this was definitely a five star place. The menu was versatile - one can order an entrée or combinations of several of the dishes. We ordered the Veggie Combo platter plus two extra scoops of dishes we were interested in trying. Our six-dish combo platter came with two additional dishes provided gratis. All were comprised of a delectable combination of ingredients - each one more delicious than the next. Their flavors and consistency are the same as Ethiopian food with enough spice and diversity. Needless to say, we were unable to pick a favorite. Service was attentive and friendly with great explanations of each dish. Queen Sheba is a definite go-to place. We are so lucky to have such a place open outside the centro district of Tucson. So take the time to visit Queen Sheba near Grant and Craycroft streets and be prepared for a culinary treat! read more

Really good food! We saw this while driving past and went the next day. The owner is great - came over and talked to us, and the service is also top notch. The food is like Ethiopian, and we like this better than the Ethiopian restaurants we have been to in Tucson. Definitely recommended! read more

Delicious food, fast service, and good prices. Lots of vegetarian- and gluten-friendly options. As someone who grew up eating Ethiopian food quite a bit, I was pleased to see that Queen Sheba offered all my favorites, like Kik Alicha and Doro Wat. But for a change of pace I would also recommend any of their avocado salads-- the flavor combo was amazing! read more

We've eaten at Queen Sheba twice now, and both times the food was delicious! Maybe the best lentils I've ever eaten. The owner is delightful and the prices are very affordable. The service was quick and we left with enough leftovers to feed a hungry teenager at home. read more

The food is wonderful! Tried Ga'at today and it was really good. The vegetable and meat platters are also yummy. Love the avacado salad. Generous portions and great prices. read more

We were in town visiting family, and we decided to try this place out! It was incredibly flavorful and tasty, and the prices are awesome for the amount of food you get. The potato dish was very plentiful and had so many good flavors and the ga'at had a really nice texture. Would 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for an awesome place to eat! The staff was very friendly and told us all about the entrees too. Very authentic and good!! read more

Fantastic food. Wonderful service. Deserves even more stars! They gave us free samples of dishes we didn't order along with our order. We ended up getting to try all the vegetarian entrees. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped here after a long hike. We ordered the meat combo and a rice/potato dish. Both were excellent! The staff is friendly and the food is very reasonably priced. Will definitely go here again. read more

Fantastic healthy food! We had the vegetarian combo and the meat combo and loved it all.

Fantastic food! How can you go wrong in this place?--Father, Mother, & kids run it personally. SO nice & delicious!

Fresh, authentic, family owned (the children doing their homework at a table across from me), love it! A must experience!

Went here for the first time tonight and everything was amazing. Friendly service, big portions, and delicious food. The atmosphere was nice and homey and I liked watching the music videos on the TV. The free tea, salad, and extra scoops of different dishes were a really nice touch. We left with lots of leftovers. We usually drive across town for Ethiopian food but now that there's an Eritrean restaurant on the East side I won't have to drive as far to get my injera fix. It's always great to see new family owned businesses opening up Tucson and I think this one will do really well! read more

The food here is definitely authentic Eritrean awesomeness. The injera was fresh and wasn't dry like some of the other places I've been to. I recommend doing a combination platter of either the meat or vegetarian. If I was strictly vegetarian I would definitely give this place a shot because the flavors are very good. If you don't like a lot of spice to your food just let them know and they will make it how you like. read more

My favorite restaurant! It has such a nice and relaxed atmosphere, definitely great for a family outing. The food is amazing and at a great price, very affordable. read more

I resisted going to this restaurant because I had been to the Ethiopian restaurants in town and was not ever in a hurry to go back. Their food was good but it didn't hit that crave point. It just wasn't my first choice. My friend however really wanted to try Queen Sheba. So I finally went. I am so glad I did. For some reason the flavor profiles were a home run. We order the meat combo, veggie combo and Gaat. The spicy lamb, spicy beef, chicken, cabbage and lentils we all so good. My friend love the Gaat. We actually ordered 2 meals to go because I wanted more. I can't wait to return. read more

I was so excited to try this place. My experience started off great, owner was super friendly and order was ready fast. Almost $30 for dinner, not bad considering the amount of food and quality. If I would have dined in this would have easily been a 4 star review. Here's where things went wrong. I was handed my to go order in a plastic bag with 4 styrofoam containers stack up. Placed it on my car floor so it would stay nice and flat. When I picked up the bag to bring inside, I noticed it was leaking everywhere. The cheap styrofoam container had all cracked (except the top one) and smashed half the food out of the bottom two. As if this wasn't bad enough, the cheap plastic bag that was holding the cheap styrofoam to go containers couldn't contain the overflowed food causing it to leak all over my car floor and carport while carrying it inside. I don't care if the food is good or not, it wasn't worth the mess or hassle. read more

Visiting from the Northeast US for the last 6 weeks and have eaten here three times. Excellent food and service and very inexpensive. Also have eaten at other Ethiopian type restaurants in Tucson during our visit here and Quees Sheba has been our favorite. Highly recommended. read more

We found this restaurant some months ago and enjoyed our first visit. Yesterday, we went back again. The food is very similar to Ethiopian: in preparation, presentation and taste. The location is convenient to Tucson Medical Center and a number of other businesses. Although the facilities are basic, the atmosphere is wonderfully warm. The owner/chef is very welcoming. The prices are very reasonable. If you like simple, healthy, delicious food, I think you will be pleased. read more

Such a nice culinary surprise! Come order the combo and ga at...#10. Very generous servings.

Wow. This food is great. Full of flavor and spices. I got the vegetarian combo and it came with eight different dishes. The teff pancake is so fun to eat with. My favorite was the Ga'at. Yet liked it all. The food was served quickly and feels like high vibration. The staff is kind and smiles often. Very welcoming. I am grateful. If I lived in Tucson I'd eat here read more

Went to Queen Sheba today for lunch. I got the 4 meat combo: spicy beef (not really that spicy), lamb, non spicy beef, and chicken all several on injera bread. My wife built her own combo (my combo sans lamb with some sort if chick pea puree as her 4 choices). Had 2 mango juices (really nice). Pizza-looking platter with 2 layers on injera bread below your meat/veggie choices. Portions were outrageously huge (my wife said they won't be in business long with the humongous portions). More injera was provided on the side. Cool to eat with hands. Food was tasty. Seating was a little tight. Take time to look at all the Eritrean artwork on the walls. Video of Eritrean wedding was a nice touch. Owner really friendly and welcoming. I really like this place read more
