Really good food here . The restaurant is also a small market . Owner is fun to chat it up with. Eritrean is very similar to Ethiopian style food as far as how it is served and flavors for reference. You must request spicy if that's your thing. It is a bit warm in the dining area so dress comfortably. Many vegan options available.

So disappointed with this visit. The injera was too fermented for my liking. We ordered the meat combo, veggie combo and the beef tibs. The veggie combo was mostly lentil based and the veggies over cooked. The Tibs was way too saucy than tibs I get at most other places. Service however is awesome and friendly.

My sister and I ordered a boneless chicken and spinach dish to share, and they added on some extra vegetable dishes for us to try. Everything had great flavor, and the portions are worth while. It's definitely a small, hole-in-the-wall shop with some interesting decor and storage space, but the (presumed) owner was incredibly nice and made it a great experience! I'm not from AZ, but would definitely come back. :)

Fantastic!!!! We just ate lunch at Queen Sheba, an authentic Eritrea restaurant., and it was a wonderful experience. The food was super tasty, featuring unfamiliar, yet delicious flavors. We ordered a couple combo plates (one lamb and one vegetarian), which were presented "family style." No utensils were used, and it was a lot of fun scooping up the entrees with fresh-baked, gluten-free Eritrea flatbread. Loved it!! If/when you are up for something completely different, but yummy . . . give Queen Sheba a try. I can't wait to bring the whole family there for a fun feast!

Although I've never tried Eritrean food before, I've had Ethiopian, which is close, both in proximity and taste. My wife and I tried it on a whim as we passed by. We found a safe place to U-turn and wow are we glad we did! In addition to the restaurant, there was a small store to purchase items from Eritrea. It's a family business and all hands were busily preparing food. A little girl greeted us while briefly looking up from making bread. My wife and I shared a veggie combo and took some home for dinner (it's HUGE). Now that we know it's there, we'll definitely be back to work through the menu.

Meat sampler (after) - I could not finish it myself so I have leftovers!

I was worried that they had closed down based on no recent yelp reviews but THEY ARE OPEN!!! They even looked closed from the parking lot (no cars) but the "Open" sign was lit up and when I pulled into the parking space, I could see people seated at a table inside. I got the small meat sampler and it was great. I didn't know there would be some veggie dishes included in the sampler but there was - what a great surprise.

Veggie combo. And this is a small!

Food was excellent obviously Family run because the young daughter and son greet you. Seat you and take your order. They were great. I did the vegetarian combo. It was delicious. The bread was just a tiny bit stale. But loved the food!!!

Very very good in their new location too! Just shared the huge $18 veggie platter with a friend for lunch and we both got plenty to eat and we even had some food left over to take home ..... the people here are so nice it's a very plain spot but the food is wonderful from Africa

A small business worth supporting! The food is positively delicious and they have a wide range of vegetarian options. You can't beat the flavors and this is arguably the best North African food I've ever had. The family who runs the place is welcoming and provides excellent service.

Good food to eat when under the weather all the spices especially after a follow up appointment again

I had never tried Eritrean food before. You eat with your hands. The food was good. I'm adding some updated photos of the menu as they didn't have any in here prior but they do on their website. It was a quaint family owned business and the children actually took my order. The coffee was strong but good. The beef was the most flavorful but each part of the dish had its own unique flavor. The portion was also huge and I couldn't finish it all so the price for the quantity was very good!

Food was great and so was the owner! Comfy place to eat. Great prices. Definitely going to start frequenting and recommending!

I don't know any habesha restaurant that slices injera in this fashion. Makes it difficult to eat.

Don't eat here. The owners a piece of shit. He didn't give me what I ordered. I asked for gored gored and he said sure. He then requested if he could give me half chicken, and if you know what gored gored is chicken should definitely not be served raw. What I received was Kai wot in terrible boxing. Injera was cut sliced too thin and made it difficult to eat. The wot leaked into the bag. Highly disappointed.

Brought out of town friends who eat vegan. Was delicious. Plenty to share and the family style was ideal.

Everyone worked together and we never had a set server like typical restaurants, but everyone that came to our table made us feel incredibly welcome. We ordered a sampler to share: Foussulia (string beans and carrots), Yemisir Wat (brown lentils), and Spicy Boneless Chicken. The food came out pretty quickly and was served with three extra injera in addition to the one the samples were on. I have never had injera before, but I found it delightful. You could definitely taste the fermentation! The chicken tasted great, with the spice coming in afterwards. If it weren't for my low spice tolerance, it maybe would have been my favorite. However, the two other samples did not disappoint! Both were very flavorful. The experience of eating with your hands made the night so much more special. There were no forks even on the table, but there were plenty of napkins, which was appreciated, being new to Ethiopian food. Just the one sampler was enough for the two of us to feel satisfied and not overly full. Splitting it this way definitely makes Zemam's very affordable! I would love to come back with a larger group and try more menu items! Definitely give Zemam's a try!

Our group of two was able to get a table right away. We don't have a lot of experience with Ethiopian food, so we appreciated how patient and kind the servers were in helping us navigate the menu. My wife got a beer from the bar and we each got a sampler. I went with two meat, one rice and my wife went with two veg and one meat. We loved using the sourdough crepe to mix all the flavors together. I was surprised at how full I was from just having the three items and the crepe. The food was spiced well and was spicy but not so hot that you couldn't taste it. I saw the AZPM story on this family business and I'm so glad that we were able to try it out. It's a great place to bring a group and try lots of different any dishes.
