The owner didn't make the appointment but after I left him a message he called me back to say he had an emergency he had to attend to but he would have somebody else swing by. I think it was his nephew, who did show up shortly thereafter. The gentleman was super polite, dressed professionally and was very thorough in his inspection. The panel rollers needed to be replaced as they were old steel rollers which were bent. He replaced them all at a reasonable cost. We also discussed getting two estimates, one for replacing the entire garage door and one for replacing just some bent tracks. He said he would speak with the owner and a quote would be provided. Haven't heard back on that as of yet. I will say that the employee was dead on knowledgeable and professional. Bill showed up, and before we talked about replacing the unit he said; hold on let me mess with these remotes.. After 45 minuets he called me back to the garage, and showed me he fixed the remotes!!! To find someone so honest with your best interests in mind is rare. He literally saved me $200!! I will continue to use him, and recommend anyone to his service. Unfortunately, we later discovered that our garage door openers had been under the manufacturer's warranty the entire time. After we had already paid this company more than $800 for unnecessary parts, we learned that the necessary replacement parts could have been provided by the manufacturer at no cost under the warranty. We only discovered this after we began working with Ollie's Garage Door. Ollies came to the property, took photos of the manufacturer stickers on the openers, and personally contacted the manufacturer. Because he took the extra time to investigate the issue, we learned that the units were still under warranty and that the manufacturer would provide the necessary replacement parts at no cost. We cannot say enough good things about Ollie's Garage Door. He truly went above and beyond for us. He was thorough, knowledgeable, honest, and willing to take the extra steps necessary to find the right solution instead of simply recommending additional repairs. We highly recommend him and are incredibly grateful for the level of service he provided. Unfortunately, our experience with the previous company was very different. They had removed the broken parts from our property during their repairs. Once we learned about the warranty, we discovered that those original parts were needed for the warranty claim. When we contacted the company and asked for the parts to be returned, we were told they had already been thrown away. We were then told that we could come pick up a new part from them for free and that they would "never speak to us again." We were also billed $99 for a service call in which they inspected another job and provided an estimate identifying the parts that were needed--parts that, again, were covered under the manufacturer's warranty. Because the original parts had been discarded and were needed by the warranty company for replacement, we were told that the $99 charge would be waived. We simply asked for confirmation of that agreement in writing so that everyone could move forward and consider the matter resolved. Instead, the call was ended, and we have still not received written confirmation. We understand that mistakes and misunderstandings can happen. What is most disappointing is how the situation was handled once the warranty issue and discarded parts came to light. After spending more than $800 on repairs and later learning that the units were covered under warranty, we expected clear communication, professionalism, and a reasonable effort to resolve the situation. Based on our experience, we would not use this company again or recommend their services. On the other hand, we HIGHLY recommend Ollie's Garage Door. Ollie's willingness to do something as simple as photograph the manufacturer information and make a phone call ultimately saved us from continuing to pay for parts that were covered under warranty. He truly went above and beyond, and his honesty and customer service earned our trust.
