Boy, am I glad I did! The owner, Sean, cut my hair and beard, and 1) my beard has never looked better, because 2) nobody has ever paid so much attention to detail and been so meticulous in shaping it. I walked into Dapper Barber looking frizzled and slightly homeless, and when I walked out, I felt like I could have stepped into a beard competition and had a fighting chance at a trophy. Sean also did an excellent job with my hair, and convinced me that I was combing my hair slightly wrong for the past decade, showed me a better way to do it, and then shaped the hair up around it, and it looks better. Why haven't the many barbers I've been to over the years noticed that and offered to fix it for me? IDK, but Sean did, and I'm grateful. He's truly an artist and a craftsman with scissors and clippers, and he's good company, too. Further, the ambiance at Dapper is... well, dapper. The place is like a museum of dapper gentlemanhood over the years. Next time I'm in town, I'll plan to be there longer for another hair and beard trim, and to spend extra time marveling at all the artifacts and curiosities around the shop. My daughter walked in with a bad haircut and dye job done at a different salon, that she was trying to grow out. She was hesitant and worried about getting it done. The stylist took the time to really talk to her about her hair goals, and what she wanted it to look like. She was honest with what she could do to fix it, and suggested what would make it look better. Her hair looks absolutely stunning. She has incredible highlights, with rich red undertones. The haircut is modern and looks like something out of a magazine. And I was super surprised at the very reasonable cost! My family has found their new salon home in the Springfield area. I am a platinum bright blonde for 7 years now, and went in to get my roots touched up & toner while I was in town bc I live in LA & my home burned down in the fires so I was staying with family. I asked the male receptionist for a platinum blonde specialist consultation & even asked Erika when she came out to greet me if she was a platinum blonde specialist. She said yes, she's been doing hair for 20 years....WHERE WALMART?! She was confident she could do my hair. I came back the next day for the appt & I said get rid of my brown roots & for the toner I want it bright & light but on the warmer side bc I absolutely don't want grey hair (any blonde stylist knows you have to have a little WARMTH to keep brightness w/o it turning grey and ashy.) She said she understood many times. When I came into this salon my hair was BEAUTIFUL light & bright and she made it BROWN/RED/GOLD. Erika needs more corrective glasses bc clearly she can't see properly &needs to be a scam artist NOT a "platinum blonde specialist" at walmart. Erika barely lifted my roots and they're yellow & banding & brassy spots all over. Sloppy bleach application. She said she was going to fix it with a toner, when I came back from the bowl I had a toner on that was brown/red/pink NOT a bright color I told her to rinse it out it's too dark and at this point my hair is a highlighter yellow mixed with green & brown from this toner. I said you need to take this toner off it's way too dark & she REFUSED to take it off saying to give it longer. She didn't even ask me anywhere along the way how I was liking my hair. She had put 2 different toners on my head, totally different colors, at this point &have left the toners on longer than the bleach and my head was freezing cold at that point from being soaking wet for 2 hours. She wasn't even going to get the pink out of my hair unless I said something to her and she says "OH is it pink?!" Erika needs to get her eyes checked PERIOD. I was sitting there CRYING in her chair as shes TRYING to blow dry my hair and I told her to just rough dry my hair bc it's quicker bc I'm tired of being cold and I'm so upset at this point and wanna get tf outta there. She never even asked me how I liked the color or anything just SILENCE from her like she knew she purposely messed up my hair. What kind of stylist makes a platinum blonde DARKER than what she came in with?! She made my hair BROWN and GOLD tones on a platinum root touch up like WHAT?! I also got a haircut from her while it was still wet she cut one layer then I told her hey uh my hair is pink....and she immediately turned around to do toners and didn't even speak to me and completely disregarded the haircut after that so I only have one layer of my hair cut and didn't finish it. The 3 owners collectively agreed that I HAD to go back to Erika if I wanted it fixed and didn't offer any other solution than that. So the owners don't even know their stylists and who they're hiring. I was recommended this place bc my mom goes to this salon and my sister has been recommend it too but NOT ANYMORE. The owners have now lost 3 customers bc of this. The whole vibe of this place is off it's very dungeon dark vibes and they play awful music it's not even uplifting. I visited Moda for a cut and color in August. My stylist was Ivy…read more After reading Yelp reviews, I made my appointment at Moda. I was not disappointed. My hair was heavily bleached and had been dyed "brown" several times since a horrible bleaching mistake. I had a weird color (not a good one) of puke blonde at the ends, dark brown (at my scalp) and mousy brown in the middle. Appealing, eh? I needed the stylist to fill the blonde hair which had no pigment and could not retain color, then dye it all brown. Ivy did exactly what I asked and a nice shape up cut. Although not an awesome end result - at no fault of the stylist - due to my damaged hair and unwillingness to cut any additional length. I was pleased with an even color and no more frazzled ends. I would go to Ivy and/or Moda again. The price was also reasonable for two processes and a cut. Parking is sparse, so be prepared to not just run in the door (like I did!).

She can give you a super edgy look, or keep it classic with highlights or an all over color. The layout of the salon is very smooth and follows with each stylist. The waiting area has a great fish tank ( to keep people entertained) and the receptionist is very polite and helpful when making appointments around a busy schedule. This prices are compare able to any downtown or modern salon in town. I have long hair and it costs around $100 depending on if I get my eye browns done or just a cut and color.
