After moving to the Springfield area, my family tried many salons, only to be disappointed. I did not expect to find this incredible salon. My daughter walked in with a bad haircut and dye job done at a different salon, that she was trying to grow out. She was hesitant and worried about getting it done. The stylist took the time to really talk to her about her hair goals, and what she wanted it to look like. She was honest with what she could do to fix it, and suggested what would make it look better. Her hair looks absolutely stunning. She has incredible highlights, with rich red undertones. The haircut is modern and looks like something out of a magazine. And I was super surprised at the very reasonable cost! My family has found their new salon home in the Springfield area. Had a terrible experience here earlier this year in May. I came out with my hair looking worse than when I went in. I was supposed to get a balayage and look at the picture Not a balayage at all. It's like the stylist only put color at the ends and my hair looked fried! The color did not even cover my strands of grey at all. The owner didn't seem to have time to fix my hair so I ended up requesting a refund, which she did give me but wasn't happy about it like it was my fault the hairstylist did such a terrible job. Indie Blue Salon changed my hair life. I'd been going to a place in Nixa for about 5 years that was alright. Fairly priced. But I wanted something more. A fantastic experience instead of alright. I actually picked this place because of Yelp reviews. I made an appointment online which was nice. I told them I wanted a senior stylist but didn't have a preference on which one. Their stylists are assistant, junior or senior. Assistants are cheaper, juniors are a little more and senior is the most expensive. The receptionist put me with Tristie. I walked in for my appointment and I waited for maybe 1 minute before getting a tour of the salon. They also give you a robe so you don't get any hair or color on your clothes. Tristie gave me a consultation and then one of the assistants (I forgot her name) took me to the lather lounge. It's a dark, quiet room where you get shampooed and a neck massage. It was so relaxing and just fabulous overall. After my lather lounge experience, Tristie started to cut my hair. She asked me lots of questions on how I like to style my hair and what I want changed. She very politely pointed out the flaws with my existing haircut and she fixed the mistakes the previous stylist had made. She then asked how I wanted my hair styled when she was finished. I had never been asked that before! She gave me a blowout and it was truly the best experience of my life. That review is too good, I'd not give any stars. Their work is great, but attitude is lacking. Better not miss an appointment for an emergency. You'll still get charged. If you call to discuss, you'll find out just how cruel the salon manager Ciera can really be. Raising her voice. Telling you she doesn't care if you live or die. Not a great experience, sadly. I went in for a toner and a trim - it took over 2 hours. When my stylist went to wash my hair, she barely scrubbed my scalp ... more so patted my hair? A scalp and neck massage was offered, but it ended up with me having to awkwardly support my head and be half seated up in the shampoo chair while it felt like my neck was being pet. My actual cut isn't great -- I realized when I got home I was never given a mirror to check the back of my head. I'm going to have to curl my hair for awhile to hide the blunt and awkward length "layers". Lastly, my hair wasn't styled after - just blow dried to lay flatly on my face. For a salon that works hard to appear as if it is a luxurious experience, I left feeling disappointed in my appearance while wasting my time and money. read more

Wow! Indie Blue Salon truly gives you a luxurious experience for such an amazing price. I went for a basic hair cut from Amanda Preston and was blown away by the service I received. Since it was my first time in the salon, I was given a complete tour by the front desk employee. The salon offers an array of refreshments, including wine. Before my cut, Amanda took me back to their relaxation room, where she washed by hair and massaged by neck and scalp. The room is dimly lit with ambient music playing, and talking is not recommended so everyone can have a calm, relaxed experience. Amanda was very thorough, making sure to cut my hair a bit longer than we discussed before cutting it shorter, allowing me to make sure I was happy with the work she was performing. It's been a few months since I visited, but my cut was definitely under $20, which I found very worth it - the atmosphere, relaxation room, and cut were all worth more. Scheduling an appointment over the phone was also very easy, and the salon calls you a few days prior to your appointment as a reminder. read more

Did not get what I paid for. I took my daughter for her birthday to get her hair done and mine as well. Mother daughter day. $120 got me nothing I paid for. My hair color was nothing like I wanted, I asked for wine, which was included in the package, Taylor S would not get me a glass, I asked for some mousse or something to put on my hair, she gave my amount smaller than a dime. The experience I paid for me and my daughter, was not worth the price. Great atmosphere but totally over priced, most expensive hair treatment I have ever paid for ($250+) and all I got was baby lights and my blonde hair toned to get the yellow out. My hair is a problem, it's course and tends to stick out when cut short which stinks because I have a short cut. Went and saw Crystal and she's a miracle worker! I have been coming to Indie Blie for a few years and Tristi is the best! I mean, all of the girls are wonderful, but she is who I see exclusively. The salon is clean and stylish. The lather lounge is luxurious. I always get what I want when I walk out, and usually some product as well. Like most things in life, you get what you pay for. So I have no problem with their pricing as I am always more than satisfied with my hair and I can count on it. So if I have to be somewhere after my appointment, I know I can leave and go on with my day with confidence. I highly recommend this salon to everyone I know. Always love coming it in. Crystal takes her time to pamper you and to make absolutely sure you are very happy with your experience! For the price they ask for, it's TOTALLY worth the service and treatment they give. The place is setup very nicely. Your full hair cut includes a hair wash and a light scalp and neck massage. They make you feel very nice and pampered throughout. There were many people in the salon at the time getting their hair colored, so I'm guessing it's popular for coloring. Amanda worked on my hair and she WAS amazing. She understood exactly what I wanted and went through every step of the haircut. She was fun to talk to and made it seem so easy and quick. I like how clean and tidy this place looks and is so spacious and not cramped even though there were almost 10+ customers when I went there. I've never had a problem with this place. Price was around $40 for a haircut if I remember correctly (or maybe that was with the tip I gave them), but I only get my hair cut once a year so it's not terrible. I am not someone who goes to the salon regularly, but I had a wonderful experience here! Taylor, my stylist, was wonderful and we talked the whole time. They let me bring my sweet German Shepherd dog in to hang out with me while I got my hair colored, washed, and cut! That really made my day, and everybody loved her! I was also able to enjoy a glass of wine and LOVED relaxing in the lather lounge. I've never had my hair colored before, and I am really pleased on how it turned out. KYLIE! I got EXTREMELY lucky. I swung by after work to see if they had any cancelations and Kylie agreed to consult me about what I wanted done to my hair. I had tons of highlight and lowlight that had grown out, I was embarrassed by the clear line where colored and natural color met. I'm going non stop the next 4 months and won't have time to keep up my hair. Kylie was very attentive as to what I wanted done and what colors I was looking for. She was able to match my natural color flawlessly, throw in some highlights, lowlights and completely blend away that ugly line while setting up my natural color to seamlessly take over. I'm a stickler for my hair and wanting it to look natural despite being colored and she did such an amazing job, I can't wait to go back. Did I mention the Lather Lounge Experience was AH-MAZING?! That was the BEST scalp massage I've ever received with a wash and she even gave me a neck rub too. I literally walked in there with an eye twitch from exhaustion and it was washed away with that wash, tempted to go back once or twice a week just for that wash. PS I seldom leave reviews. I started going here about a year ago because I wasn't satisfied with the work a salon in my hometown had been doing. I had been seeing a senior stylist who regularly did a partial balayage of warm blonde and a glazing appointment in between each appointment. I was satisfied with it for awhile but then when I wanted to go for a more cool white blonde, it could not be achieved. I called to make my appointment, telling the front desk that i wanted an all over cool blonde and that I was a warm blonde at the moment. When I went for my appointment, my stylist told me that an all over color was a 4 hour appointment and they didn't allot for that time for me today. They also told me it would be 260 dollars. So instead, she did a partial balayage, and lightened everything up to achieve my cool blonde. When it was finished, she could not give me what I wanted and said "your hair must love to stay warm blonde" and I walked out of there paying 190 before tip and unsatisfied. :( I loved my senior stylist and I wish I could continue to go see her for my hair BUT paying 200 dollars for partial color is a little excessive in my eyes and I cannot afford that. Indie Blue Salon is rated the third best salon in Springfield, Mo. I am going to try Honey and Hive salon because they are rated the second best salon and yet a lot of people I have talked to are paying 130 for all over cool blonde. I loved Indie Blue but don't go here if it is out of your price range and aren't willing to pay more money than what you are receiving. read more

I have had long hair since I can remember and I was required to cut it off for a military school I decided to go to. I could have gone to any old barber shop to do this but I chose to go to Indie Blue because they were the first place to say that they would cut it and help me with donating it. Considering I have never had short hair I was quite nervous and even a little sad before going but I must say Indie Blue actually made this experience quite pleasant. Everyone was so soo friendly and very professional from the moment I walked in. Jessica cut my hair for me and I thought I was going to cry but I actually ended up laughing the entire time. Having almost no hair didn't turn out bad at all; in fact I got a lot of compliments throughout the remainder of the day which I definitely wasn't expecting. THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! We drove all the way from St. Robert, and it was worth it! I will be happily making the drive back every 6 weeks to see Amanda. I felt so horrible last night...we were thirty minutes late driving in! But Amanda was so sweet and understanding and was more than happy to do my hair anyway. The entire set up of the salon is fantastic. It's so much fun to sit in the Color Bar and chat, then go into the lather room and relax in the warm, dark room while your scalp is getting massaged. They also have a drink station where you can have water and hot chocolate....it's fantastic!! They really care about the whole experience here! Not to mention my hair....which is everything I asked for and more!! I picked a really unique red color off of Pinterest (typical..I know!) and somehow Amanda just knocked it out of the park!!!! I am so thrilled! And they keep your color on file so I can go back and they will know what color I want! I have never been happier with a cut and color, and it was affordable! The girl that did my hair was apparently new. She had no idea what she was doing and ruined my hair. Trusting someone with my hair was very hard but she made it seem like she knew what she was going. I had very long, think, brown hair. And was wanting a few highlights and some dead ends cut off... she bleached my hair a yellow tone, and left me with a very uneven, frayed cut. The brown and the highlights were not blended, and the color was about 4 inches (at least) away from the root in some places. It has been about 3 months since I got it done and there is still a yellow brassy tone to my hair, even though I use purple shampoo regularly. Very unsatisfied with this salon! And disappointed that she made me feel like I could trust her with my hair, even after I made it quite obvious how nervous and unsure I was because I had only had one girl do my hair for my whole life up until that point!! If you're going to spend $175-$250 on getting your hair done, I would recommend going somewhere else!! read more
