The place is amazing HOWEVER I happened to get the one person that was incapable of following any directions I gave her and then spent more time blow drying and brushing my hair than actually listening to what I wanted. She also has no idea how to dry hair with a towel, she was yanking my hair and did not stop as I was wincing. read more

This was the best haircut I have received. The great detail they put into their cuts is awesome and this place had it going!

GOOD HAIRCUT, STUPID PRICING Pretty good job done. My barber is only 1 in 2 that has ever used a bit of imagination when I told her "you choose what looks good" when asked how I wanted it cut. I don't know hair. And there is such a vast amount of different styles. So she done well. Just wasn't good at talking shop it seems, but neither am I. And she washed my hair afterwards to get out the loose hair. Oh, and she didn't let me see myself in the mirror until after she was finished; not important, just different. And she put a hot towel on my face while washing my hair. What struck me negatively was their pricing. $20 I'm okay with. But then they ask for a tip on top of their premium pricing. And $25 for a shave. Shaves take less time and possibly cost less in materials. Want to emulate the goodness of old time barber shops? Keep doing a good job and offer honest prices. So, the experience was okay. They used good products. And most importantly, she done a good job with my hair. Will I go there again? Only when I need the utmost from my appearance. read more

Hudson Hawk used to be the best place to get a hair cut in town. Super attentive to the quality of your haircut and the overall experience, offering beer, coffee, water, a hair wash/head massage, a hot damp towel on your face as they washed, a true experience. Maybe I should have went to a salon instead, now that I have longer hair. But I assumed a trim is easier than a fade. I did not receive any of the amenities contributing to the quality of experience that they used to offer. The barber brushed out my hair and trimmed it dry. No hair wash, no neck trim, which I had specifically asked for. The barber just said he didn't expect my hair to be so long or for it to take time to brush it and that my time was already up. Now that I'm home and have looked in the mirror, my hair is an inch and a half shorter on my left side. I guess with the boom of their business came the disregard for quality. I gave them a two star review because I'm sure they still do nice fades but for me, it was a bad experience and I won't be back. I was also dumbfounded at the barber's concern for my time frame (30 minutes) being up over caring about the service he was offering. Their prices have also gone up, and with a tip it was $25 (you should never stiff someone working in the service industry). But still, $25 for a brush and a crooked trim. If you aren't looking for a fade, it's probably best to skip this spot. read more

This place charges $30 for a $13 cut. The staff was lazy. I wasn't offered to have my facial hair done. And after my cut the lazy millennial barber begrudgingly asked if I wanted the back massager. But I was just ready to leave. I went to pay and it was over $30. For $13 you can go to a real barber that will be polite and social, have your face done, hot towel on your neck, neck shaved, after shaved applied, and back massager. I'm giving this place 3 stars for the atmosphere alone. that was about the only appealing aspect of my visit. The barber seemed distracted, and wasn't very friendly. He barely spoke. Took my 5 year old grandson here today..... We are letting his hair grow out for a longer surfer look ( hey, don't judge.... We are from California). Jeanie listened carefully to my daughter and cut it just how she wanted it. Everyone was pleased so Grandpa had her cut his hair, too. I went there on Saturday the 28th of September for the first time. My appointment was at 6 pm. I just relocated to Springfield. My first impression was that the girl that took care of me was not very excited about cutting my hair. She was very quiet, not sociable at all but respectful. I showed her a video of the hair cut I wanted and she didn't take the time to pay attention to details and ask me questions and give me any recommendations. She just asked what I wanted. I knew right there in there that I was in the wrong place. She washed my hair with almost cold water and got things done very quickly and by the end, I was already super disappointment by the lack of attention to details and social skills. I have to say that she made the hair cut chipper for me because she didn't do much, as she said. I gave her a tip, but I think I'm not coming back to this place anymore. It looks very charming on the outside but the people inside, don't reflect that charm in their performance. I left the place with the feeling that I just threw away 22 dollars and that my gramma could have done a better job. I'm giving one star because at least there was the decency to give me a discount. read more

Will not go back. I was always waiting 10-15 minutes when I got there on time for my appointment. The other day I was running late and arrived 10 minutes late to my appointment and was told that they cancelled my haircut. The barber wouldn't come talk to me, only the receptionist. She told me that the remaining 10 minutes wouldn't be enough to do my hair cut because he had another cut already scheduled. So they schedule cuts every 25 minutes but it takes 45 minutes to cut. Piss poor management and customer service. read more

The personnel decided to book someone else at my confirmed time. When I was in store I was invited to wait around 45 minutes for my new (unconfirmed) apt.
