Definitely one of the more bizarre hotels I've ever stayed at. The lobby is traditional, but…read moreeverything else takes a right turn into Oddsville. Almost all of the rooms overlook the pool, like they tried to replicate the layout of the Embassy Suites, just with a pool. Said pool is a decent size, and there is also a hot tub. Yet the hotel map actually shows two hot tubs. I suspect the other one died and they just didn't bother to replace it. Or do anything with the area reserved for it. Which is not all that different from the arcade games near the pool; only have of the machines actually appeared to be functional. We reserved a two bedroom, which is a bit misleading. The living room is also the bedroom, and then there's an actual bedroom in the back. While there was also a couch in the living/bed room, this was a setup I can't recall ever seeing before. Also odd was the giant counter in the bathroom without a sink. The sink was in an alcove outside of the bathroom. I normally am fine with this setup as one person can use the facilities while the other brushes their teeth, but again, it just seemed odd.

I get the hotel is only 2 floors, but if you're on the second floor and you have a lot of luggage, it's a bit of a pain. Yes, there's an elevator, but it almost always full of wet families. Our room faced the pool and that was a nightmare. Between the track racing down the hall that faced the pool and the noise, just terrible. Rooms are not at all soundproof. Toilets were small and low to the floor, not ideal if you're over 6 feet tall. At least got our squats in! Bed was hard and uncomfortable. No complimentary breakfast and the onsite restaurant just not great. Gets a star back because staff were friendly.
