Ok, this is weird but I am going to review this place without having stayed there. Up front, the owners were very nice but distracted. Apparently their clerk quit and neither of them knew how to work the computer very well.
Reasons we chose NOT to stay here.
1. While we were checking in, two people came in demanding to know why they come back and their door was wide open. Apparently the husband was looking in all the rooms to see who was still checked in (because he didn't know how to verify it on the computer) and left the door open...
2. No deadbolt on the door or chain. Just a push button on the doorknob. And the windows did not latch. And the owner mentioned in passing that they'd had people not turn in their room keys before and try to sneak back into the rooms to stay for free.
3. There was a very nice dog bed sitting outside our room. When the wife asked the husband about it - he said the previous guests had left it there. Which made me wonder if the previous guests had actually checked out or if they were going to be coming back - since they left stuff in the room and the husband couldn't use the computer to verify who was still registered.
This all could have just been a bad day of owning a hotel, which I am sure happens. But they were pretty cavalier about the whole security thing. Which made me uncomfortable. We really wanted to stay there, the room was clean, the owners were nice and the price was great. But my instinct was that I did not feel safe there and wouldn't have slept a wink. read more
