Queen City is the only trash company I've been happy with, and I've lived in Springfield and used a bunch of them. Everybody else hikes the price up and makes it difficult to end your service (even if you're just moving, the last company wouldn't pick up my last full trash even though I had paid for it to be picked up, eventually I had to haul it off myself before the new home buyers got the keys). I added black bags of trash to my pick up this morning. They left 2 bags. I called the office. There was a stick poking out of one of the bags so the left it. MIGHT have yard waste in there. The stick was smaller than a pencil. The other bag had old foam pool toys....? I'm calling lazy. I have arthritis and got everything in bags and hauled to the curb. "They will be back next Thursday." So I wrote a review, did not expect to be called a "Karen" in the owners response to my review, so now I will actually take my time in writing my review. We signed on for their service initially because of the pricing, but more so because I found out the owner is a Veteran. Regardless of how I feel about our conversation, in that aspect - I owe you respect. You put your life on the line to protect my freedom, and that of my children. For that, I thank you. I genuinely wanted to support you and your company. Upon signing up, we were told our trash days were on Tuesdays. Yesterday (Tuesday) we put out the trash out for the FIRST TIME - and come home to it still sitting there. I called to inquire, which the owner calls "hostile" when in reality - the snarky tone of his was what what set me off. In all honesty, I ASSUMED that I got the day wrong (as it was the first time setting it out), and was calling to see what day I needed to set it out moving forward. I did not call with hostility. (Based on all the prior reviews, this seems to be a habit they have created. Obviously they do not know how to handle their customers. I will not say I did not BECOME hostile, in reaction to his snide response - because I did. I should not have, and that is my mistake.) Apparently - they showed up at 4:52am, my initial review stated "4" , and in his mind, 52 minutes is grounds for yet another insult from him. I believe the early pickup would have been important for the woman to note upon signing up. They seem to think everyone can just leave their trash bins wherever and whenever but I am here to tell you, that is not the case. We would have accommodated that time if they would have just told us. Communication is KEY! He seems to think this was my fault for not putting it out the night before. Something he says they mention upon signup, I can assure, you they did not. We only just moved to Republic on 7/1. In my lease, it says that I am not supposed to have a trash bin out for more than 15 hours. I assumed this was a Republic thing, as none of my neighbors leave theirs out for extended periods of time. The owner of this establishment then cut me down again with his insults AND all but called me a liar, as if I intended on making a fool of myself with my inaccurate assumption (regarding it being a Republic restriction). Regardless of whether it is the city, or my landlord, leaving it out for that amount of time would be in violation of my lease. I have attached a photo to prove that I am not making it up as he has portrayed. The owner of this establishment obviously thought it would be funny to poke fun of that too. Very unprofessional, very rude, very condescending. I will be taking my business elsewhere. They need to make sure I get my deposit back for a service they did not provide. They also need to let me know when they can pick up the bin. Its very clear to me they do not care about keeping or maintaining their customers. Fixing a problem, or making things right. A simple kind response would have resolved this. Misinformation or lack of information on their part is not my issue. Get it together. Word of mouth goes a long way and with a rating of less than 2 stars, seems its obviously been made clear what you need to work on. UPDATE 8/9/23. This guy is a piece of work! Told us to have it out today for the cleaning company to pick up and it's still sitting outside, I'm willing to bet he will charge us another week. We paid $55 for one week of trash to be picked up. Queen City Disposal sent a bill which included a late fee charge of $10.75 for the previous billing cycle. I paid the previous bill July 17. On the bill the Terms state "DUE UPON RECEIPT". The bill does not indicate that there is a date after which late fees will b charged. It also does not indicate an amount that would be charged after a certain date. I want Queen City Disposal to reverse the late fee charge of $10.75 and include a due by date on future bills. I spoke with the owner and he could not explain how he would charge a late fee with no due date. read more

We used this trash services for just over 5 years at the duplex we rented in Springfield. We've never really run into many issues with them. A handful of times they were late picking up or didn't come but nothing that bad to fuss over much. Today now that we've moved out and are needing not only a refund for a month of service we'll no longer need that I can see from the reviews will probably never get but also an extra pickup and we've now run into huge issues. My husband arranged it with the receptionist to have them pick the extra garbage for us. My husband even went back and spent over an hour getting it broken down and everything put in trash bags he told the lady word for word what was out in that trash, including exactly how many bags we paid them another $20 for to come and pick that up so that our landlord wouldn't complain that we had left trash there outside and our neighbors wouldn't have to stare at Trash. Today we found out they didn't come for the second time to pick it up, and when my husband called the lady, he had talk to before was extremely rude this time and told him over the phone that we were liars that there is more there, and it was not as described and that is not truthful. These people not only took our money and called us liars and didn't do what they were supposed to, but treated us like garbage. My husband was angry and probably wasn't talking very nicely after all of this and the woman hung up on him and the owner called back and he was worse than she was. I appreciate that he was a veteran. That is why we used their service to begin with because my husband and most of my family are as well. That's as far as it goes with any respect for him this guy is an absolute garbage dumpster fire of a human and so is his company and employees, avoid at all cost do not use these people. I've read the other reviews they lie to everyone they steal their money and they don't do what they say they're going to do then they treat you like total crap and act like you're the devil and it's them in actuality. They are wolves in sheep's clothing. And when they read this and I hope they do let me tell you that we will be getting an attorney if we don't get back our full amount of money that we paid to have the extra trash picked up and the month that we aren't paying for because we aren't going to be there anymore and you knew that. If you want a huge lawsuit, don't return the money. If you don't you'd better get it refunded immediately just like you took it from us immediately!!! They are liars and theives. Had a voicemail from them saying I had until the end of the month to take care of an issue. I took care of the issue at 5am 5 days before the end of the month. Made a payment. They still came and took my can. When I called to find out why, they said that I only had until the 14th. I told them they called me on the 14th and left a voicemail saying I had until the end of the month. They called me a liar and said that the same person always leaves the voicemails and they only ever say the 14th. I offered to play the voicemail for them so they could hear for themselves. They refused and then tried to keep my payment for the next 3 months, even though the took my can. They said they wouldn't give my money back, until I said I'd be calling my lawyer. I rented a dumpster to dispose of carpet and old furniture in preparation for a bedroom remodel. I called 5 days ahead of when I needed the dumpster and reserved it for the following Tuesday. I awoke Tuesday early to find the dumpster delivered and in the exact spot I requested. I was finished in two days and Queen City promptly came to remove it just as requested. The customer service was excellent and this entire process was flawless. I would recommend them for both dumpster services and trash services, as I am a customer of both. We always try to use local services to support small business... so choosing Queen City was an easy choice. The service has been reliable which is why they get five stars... the minor issues we have had were dealt with in a timely manner. The man who picks up our trash is super nice. However, if you are looking for a super professional group remember this is a family owned business. The website doesn't have a pay option... you have to go through a third party company that charges for payments. We still haven't gotten a response from asking about temporarily renting a larger bin for a garage clean out that we submitted via the contact option on the website. To me though... these are minor complaints and aren't enough to remove a star for! They do a great job and a very reasonable rate and i am pleased with them! read more

One week I forgot to put my trash container, it was up by the house, when I looked out the next morning they had walked up to the house and brought the container to the curb and emptied it. Worst service ever...set my trash out the night before since I have to leave for work at 5:45am so i don't forget. They didn't pick it up. When I called the lady pretty much called me a liar about having it out. She was very rude. I called several times to see if they were going to send someone out to pick it up after being rude with me several times she said someone woupd contact me. I heard from noone at all. So I called back in the morning and was told someone would be by to pick up by 5pm...still no pick up my trash is still at the curb. Rented a roll off dumpster from them on on 13th, called to get it emptied and returned on the 16th, Had only been told that it was one ton free, 45 for each extra ton. Look today and they charged me an entire extra rental fee. Never said anything just dropped off the dumpster and billed me. You should charge what you what they tell you. I specifically asked about getting it emptied and returned and nothing at all was mentioned. You tried to be shady Nick. I spoke with Nick and while he conceeded that I may not have been told, essentially that's too bad. I was with Queen City for two years. Everything was okay for a short while. Then things started going wrong. Across the two years, there were several increases in the price - each was only a very small amount, but they have added up. They started occasionally skipping me. Then they stopped sending bills. I got a phone call from one of the ladies at the office telling me to pay within the next three days to avoid a disruption in service. When I went online to pay, the price was $9.00 higher than it should have been. I tried calling, but could not get an answer. I gave up and paid online to avoid the "disruption," even they had not exactly provided continuous service. After I paid, they did start answering the phone again, but they did not empty my garbage. I called because I wanted to know why my bill was $9.00 too high, I was informed that this was my late fee. I reminded them that late fees are paid on services that have already been rendered, but not paid. You can't charge late fees on a service that has not been rendered yet. They told me, "Too bad." I asked them to waive the fees, and they told me only the owner can do that. They said he would call me back. He did not. I had to try repeatedly to contact him. When I finally got him on the phone, he was rude. Actually, there are no non-obscene words for how rude he was. I tried to reason with him over charging late fees for a service that has not been provided. I reminded him that I work for a property management company, and that I had changed several accounts over from other companies to Queen City, and that he was loosing those properties because of billing errors. I asked him to please waive the fees, that it would prevent me changing my service as well as the service of the remaining properties I manage. He told me I was stupid. He told me I was stuck. He asked if I "can even speak English". I told him I have a degree in English. He lambasted me, insulted my intelligence, called me names and told me my service would be suspended. He hung up on me. I called back. I told him I want my money back if my service is suspended. Then he started screaming at me. I did swear at him for it. He told me his calls are all recorded, and I told him the calls are recorded at my end, too. He told me that if I call again, he would turn me over to the police. I invited him to do so. Now he is calling and harassing me. This company comes on strong, but fails miserably. The ladies seem nice at first, but they are lame and useless insofar as customer service after the sale goes. After a year and five months of service we had multi miss pick ups/ late pick up that did not accrue after a holiday, and six months of trying to reach the manager for being double charged for services paying every two months instead of every three months. After calling today to canceled service with them, they did not answer the phone during business hours as normal. I received a very rude phone call back not asking for my name just my address saying the account number i gave them is not an account number, as I go to ask him if he would like me to leave the can at the end of the drive way he hung up on me mid sentence. I am very disappointed in queen city disposal. I was 8 days late paying my bill this time which is my bad but even after I told them do not put it on auto pay they did causing me a 34 dollar overdraft. When I called today to pay the bill I didn't say nothing about that but they already added a 25 $ cart removal fee which my carts had not been removed so they took that off. My bill was 66.75$ plus a 9 dollar fee which of course glad to pay because I'm late. And this is what is on my printed bill right? No not right the lady said it was another 17 dollars because "he" raised it at the first of the year now that is not on my bill that was mailed the 2nd month of the year. She said sorry "he" changed the rates. Which is all fine if you let somebody know that "he" raised it like in the actually bill "he" has sent out. I had to pay it because my garbage needs removed. After 10 years and moving 4 times with this garbage company and actually overlooking times that their service was not that great, because as a small business owner I wanted to support their business it looks like "he" has forgot good customer service. We will NEVER do business with this company again. My husband set up service with Queen City after shopping for he best priced trash service in Republic, MO. My husband called and spoke with a woman who quoted him $48 for a total of 6 months. She told him that technically the $48 was for 3 months, and we would get 3 months free. So a total of 6 months for $48. We checked our Bank account and saw they they charged us $51 AND $14. I called to ask what happened to the $48 quote. I spoke with a VERY Rude man (who later revealed he was the owner). He told us that we had an outstanding balance from a previous residence. We had previously had Queen City for a 6 month period at a previous residence. We had paid for 6 months service and then canceled at the end of the 6 months. The man told me that I had an outstanding balance of $14, which is what they had charged us. We were NEVER notified of an outstanding balance. We have NEVER been provided documentation of any outstanding balances. AND we did not authorize this charge. How could we have an outstanding balance when we paid for 6 months and then canceled after 6 months? I then asked about why we were charged $51 instead of $48. He told us there was an additional service charge when using a debit card. Which again we were NEVER told about. I explained that we had not even used the trash service yet and would simply like a refund. He refused and was VERY rude. I told him that I was not okay with their company charging me for things I was NEVER told about and did not authorize. I also told him that a woman (maybe a secretary) was the one who quoted my husband the $48, and she never said anything about an outstanding balance. He said not only would he NOT refund my money, but we would not be getting the 3 months free (That we were told), and we could cancel service after three months. WHY would we shop for better trash service prices, and then go with a company who charges us more??? We love supporting local business, but we will NOT be supporting this one, and have reported this business to the BBB. A simple refund of money would have made this whole situation better. I've used Queen City for almost a year now. They are great! They have one of the lowest prices in town, they are very easy to work with, and reliable. I do not understand how other reviewers think they are rude. I have had to call a few times and they have always extended great customer service. Once, I called because about half the bin wasn't emptied. My sons tend to smash the trash as deep as they can when they have to take the trash out. I understood the problem was that they use automated trucks. They said they would make a note of it and make sure the problem didn't happen again. Guess what? It never has! Another time I had to deal with them was when I needed to get rid of a queen sized mattress. I called and spoke to Nick and he told me that if I could leave it out on our porch, he'd pick it up personally. So for $25, I didn't have to wait on anyone, I didn't have to be there. Thanks, Nick! No one else was offering prices or services close to that for large items! I am glad I picked Queen City. Trash was not picked up all week. We are paid up till 6-1-18 and I have emailed and called but no response. So my landlord says change providers because she doesn't want trash sitting on the curb for a week. I emailed and told them to come get their bin and the trash got a nasty rude unprofessional email in response. This all happened after our landlord called to complain about their trash drivers driving in our yard and leaving huge ruts. Not a very professional group of people, other than the lady in the office, she is so sweet. I have never been talked to so rudely by a business owner as I have with this group.
