I have been in queens cafe hookah several times it's the most enjoyable place and the service is beyond and above very recommended place.

Service is hit or miss...some of the female servers are nice. There is no alcohol here (understandable) -- but not even food. They use crappy Nakhla shisha and use really broke-down hookahs, which don't smoke very well. Music is too loud, even when it's empty. Basically, just go here when there is nowhere else to go. I give 2 stars rather than 1 only because it *looks* authentic and service isn't usually too bad. read more

Pros: Decent hookah, decent prices, decent music Cons: pushy waitresses demanding immediate payment...uhhh ok, we will pay we and we will order, please chill. It's really filthy in there. The whole place needs work .Dirty floors, scratched up walls, torn up, mismatched furniture. Have some pride in your appearance and in your business, the place looks a hot mess and just feels...gross. I don't wanna dress up and smoke hookah and try to relax in a place with dirty floors. And why do you have steel folding chairs? Like...this must be a DC thing because....this would not be acceptable anywhere else. Also, when the furniture is torn up...throw it away and replace it. Keep your furniture and decor looking tidy and updated, I don't know why this is such a hard concept for business owners. I don't want to pay to sit in a chair that's on it's last leg. Offer more to your clients and we won't complain about prices. Do better, your clients deserve to have hookah in a clean place. read more

Came here with some friends after soussi didnt have room at their second level lounge. Had a great time, the shisha was good all throughout the night. Server suggested the apple cranberry mix, great combination. It costs about $21 total for one hookah which they limit to two people. House rules also don't allow beer which was a bit of a bummer. Music was great, 2000s pop, hip hop, rnb. Altogether, nice place, will revisit tip once I try out other venues. read more

This a really fun Hookah Lounge to hang out with friends. The Shisha is great (especially a Peach Mint combo), they have some great Egyptian Tea, and they've got some great music blasting on weekends. There's a good reason the line is usually down the block, Nadi the owner and his staff are definitely going to take care of you. Come hang out, smoke some Shisha, enjoy yourself. Definitely geared towards a younger crowd. Low seats and loud beats- but that's what makes it so fun. ***affordable too! read more

NEVER EVER COMING BACK!! I had been to this particular hookah lounge a few times before a while back and had an overall pleasant/relaxing experience, so I decided to try it out again last night...Bad move. We got there and I'm guessing now they have a $5 cover charge at the door. Yikes. Not what I expected since I remember it being free, but whatever. So we sit down and order the mixed fruit hookah and three waters since they don't sell any alcohol there. The server places the check on the table and it came up to $24. $21 for the hookah and $3 for the service fee. Fine. We were just beginning to relax and enjoy the atmosphere when not only a minute or two later, our server returns and points to the check saying, "It's cash only" and walks away....umm ok Thanks? I'm guessing that was her way of telling us to pay up, but it felt we were being extremely rushed. We brushed it off and my boyfriend got up to use the bathroom. Literally not only a moment later did the rude server return demanding that we pay up. We gave her $25 and she walked away, only to return saying, "You didn't pay for the waters, they're $2 each" When my friend pointed out that she neglected to put that on the check also, she said, "My bad" Smh, just ratchet. We gave her $5 for the water and she complained that it was $6 for all three waters. We pointed out to this nasty broad that the extra dollar was in the change from the original 25 that we gave her. She rolled her eyes and walked away only to come back and tell us we had FIVE MINUTES. What??! You snatch our money and then try to rush us out for whatever reason, I don't know..but we continued to smoke the hookah until this sewer rat comes back and takes the hookah right out of my boyfriends mouth saying, "You're done" Needless to say, we nicely dumped the rest of the water on the table on our way out :) read more

Worst service ever. I admit that I frequently read reviews & never write my own. I definitely have to write about last night. Its a cash only location I was the only one in my group of 3 with cash. It's $5 per person to go inside, we were seated immediately. No alcohol at all in this place, just $2 water bottles. I read that it was cheap Hookah but prices were higher this night I guess. Literally right after ordering she dropped the check, The "server" never got her name (darker skin with big fat braids) then repeated to come to us & demand payment. I mean we were going to pay but didn't appreciate the constant harassment. She literally approached us on 4 different occasions requesting the money. It was $24, I left $25. $1 tip for the bad service. She later approached us again & said we had to pay for our waters. My friend mentioned we paid our tab already why didn't she put it on there. Her exact two words were "my bad" and stood there waiting for us to give her $6. So I pulled out a $5 bill and gave it to her, she said "you still need a dollar more" I said I gave you $25 for $24 earlier take it from there. She looked annoyed. Approached us again a few minutes later to tell us "you guys only have 5 minutes left" Not even 5 minutes later she came back & took the hookah as I was smoking it. I proceeded to kindly dispose the rest of our water bottles on her table. So we paid $15 to come inside. $30 for the hookah & water and were back out the door within 30 minutes. When living in D.C. it was nearly impossible for my friends and I to find a place to accommodate large groups (8+ people) last minute - luckily, we stumbled upon Queens. Not only were the workers kind and helpful, but the owner, Nadi, is incredibly nice and will reserve space beforehand when you need to. The hookah variety is great and after returning 5 or 6 times we never had a bad experience with hookah quality or service. The atmosphere is good and the music creates a fun environment! I brought all my friends here after hearing complaints of overcrowded, overpriced, and sub-par hookah quality and they never went back to those places again. It will definitely be an affordable and worthwhile visit whether you bring a group of 2 or a group of 10. read more

This place is very chill and laid back. The hookahs are very pretty and the taste of the tobacco was good. They give all member of the party their own plastic tips if you are the germ a phob! It is in the basement of an old building. If dingy basements are something you can not handle DO NOT come here! The service was nice and the lady even gave us some complimentary tea because it was cold outside! The cinnamon cardamon tea was quite delicious! The music was a mix that had obviously been cheaply downloaded but did't bother us any! This is not a place I would come on the regular but it was a fun place to try out. I must say I definitely had a fun time at Queen's Cafe. We went here as a part 2 of a night of celebrating my friends birthday. We got in there and there was a good crowd of folks in there. There is a $2 entry change, which is nothing. The hostess seated us and gave us a menu of all the flavors we could try. We got the mango. It was so good. The music was good too. When I lived in DC last summer, we went here ALL the time. Yes, they have a cover charge, but it's $2 so not a big deal. The shisha is cheap and the atmosphere is comfortable and so nice: belly dancers, awesome...variety of arabic music and american pop is great too. I absolutely hate hookah bars that rush you..they didn't do that all here and they always made sure the complementary tea was full. Also is right in the middle of Adams Morgan so a great place to hit up before or after you go out! read more

I mean, I've only been to two hookah spots....this one and the one next door. It's cool I guess. 3 dollar cover I believe. Only ever been here on Friday or Saturday night. I like hookah, but with most things I do I like other people besides my friends to be around, makes me feel like I'm having more fun. Anyway, earlier in the night there aren't usually that many people, as the night goes on, more groups go in and out. They play mashup vids with current, but more than half of the time, music from that awkward time where it's not actually old school or current, like 2003. I've been coming here for three years. The shisha is good quality, the staff is friendly and the crowd laid back. Their tea is pretty good, though having a glass per pot sort of puts a damper on the social aspect of tea-drinking. The party atmosphere is sometimes a little more than I like while smoking some argileh, but its a good place to go if you're looking for a late-night activity and have enough friends to split the cost of the argileh. This place is gross. They don't use air condition, everyone inside is using their menus as fans. They kick people out, and it's not in order as you come, it's as they feel like it. If they aren't feeling you, you'll get kicked out. They only have 1 waiter for the whole place. They don't serve alcohol. They only take cash. The coals for the hookah burn out within 20 minutes. Came in on a Wednesday night (night before Thanksgiving) with a couple of friends. No complaints here but also nothing special. There was plenty of seating and they were relatively comfortable. The service here was kind of awkward though. We asked if this place sold beers and the guy looked at us like we asked the most stupid question. Then we asked if we could get a menu or something and he completely forgot about it. The price here wasn't too bad either. It was about $20 for 1 hookah and no cover charge like many other reviews wrote (probably because it was a Wednesday). Overall I have no complaints with this hookah spot. This place is awful. They charge a cover, and for what? The place is dirty, the bathrooms are disgusting, and I got frisked when I was walking in! The servers are so rude, and they have weird policies like making you pay (cash only) before they will bring anything. Tonight was my first experience here. I am new to the area and I am auditioning Hookah spots. We went around 7:30 on a Saturday and it wasn't crowded at all. Good hookah, a little strong for us but delicious. The owner talked to my friends and I for awhile and he was very gracious. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the service was a little slow after the initial hookah drop-off, but I'm willing to chalk that up to it being due to the World Cup game going on. This place is a little run down, but that's precisely what I like about it, because it has character, from the relaxed seating, to the vibrant music on the tvs, it creates a perfect social atmosphere that is only complimented by the delicious home-brewed Turkish coffee, Egyptian teas, and of course hookah! They don't turn away customers under 21 because they don't serve alcohol (anyone familiar with traditional Muslim culture will understand this) and they don't really need to, anyone who has been to Adams morgan during happy hour knows there is a million places to get a cheap drink and they certainly won't mind if you bring it inside. I enjoyed the cheap prices and the fact that they had a 10% student discount. They staff was friendly and attentive, in addition to answering our 'noobie' questions politely. I think it's easily the cheapest hookah lounge in the district and pretty low-key since it's kind of out of sight. I will certainly be going again. read more

i've always liked this place. It's not the trendy, douchy hookah bar that have popped up around the area. It's basically a dive, but it's a chill atmosphere, has authentic music, and the tea is great. Down side is that it is cash only. Also I ordered food once, and they left the restaurant and came back with food they must have bought from another place. But the service was friendly without being pushy. Also sometimes there is a belly dancer. it's a small place though so don't think you can roll in with a huge entourage on a weekend night. read more

Worst hookah bar I've been too. Seating was fast. Shisha was eh and on top of that the staff is annoying as fuck and rude. Only descent and profession person was the male owner. They don't serve food in the evening. never ever been to a hookah bar that never served food in the evening so that was shocking. We even had to leave just to get change because they didn't have change to give out. We had to have exact cash. Like wtf!!!? it's almost embarrassing that it took me this long to write an update to my earlier review! i come here about once a week. from nova. by bus. (which I think says a good deal) and i love it. Nadi, the owner, is great, and the entire staff is always friendly and helpful. the prices are the best in DC and the shisha is always well packed and pulls perfectly. i really recommend the tea--Nadi brews his own special blend that is designed to go well with smoking hookah--both the beverage and the smoke is enhanced by the combo. you'll find me here mostly saturday or sunday afternoons with a book and meeting other patrons, but it's also great for evening out. it's definitely my DC hookah lounge. read more

horrible hookah; it was completely bland and we even ordered the so-called "premium" shisha. they served it to us with warm water, cheap hoses, and a very weak hookah... compare it to Prince's in Tenleytown and Queen's Cafe is a joke. service was rude and did not ask us once if we needed new coals (unlike Prince's, which is every 30 min or so). also, the mouthpiece they gave us was already BROKEN off. we have been to a variety of hookah bars and this one may have been the worst one we have ever been to. it is completely despicable that we paid them for this type of service... i am amazed that a horrible hookah bar like Queen's stays in business. read more
