I have gated parking, there are cameras all over the campus, and the apartment manager has high standards for the tenants and how they behave. (In a good way!) Management is very communicative about standards and incredibly personable - I know that if I text our maintenance guy or email our apartment manager, I will get a friendly response incredibly fast. I have lived at GP for 1 year this month, and any issues that I've had (the biggest being the battery needing to be changed on my gate opener) were resolved in a way that far exceeded my expectations. GP is cleaner than any apartment I've lived in and most that I've seen. I love the art and bright colors. Occasionally people on the street can be loud or cars have loud music, but this has not lasted long in my experience, and I've never had any trouble whatsoever with my fellow tenants at GP. I love the sense of community - people say hi to me, look me in the eye, and are friendly. My rent went up after one year - by $20 a month. This is such a small increase considering what is going on in much of Seattle that I was thrilled to get the letter. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. My unit has not had one problem and is incredibly spacious for what I pay. My balcony is beautiful. I could not be happier living at Graham Place and highly recommend it. I also love the neighborhood - there are probably about 40 bars or restaurants within 2 miles of where I live. Tons of diverse cuisine, two art galleries, a variety of boutiques, two bookstores, and a handful of places to go dancing. GP is also within walking distance of Seward Park which is gorgeous and right on the lake.

As a long time Seattle resident I attended school at what is now Aki Kurose Middle School back in the 80's when I was called Caspar W Sharples Alternative School. This neighborhood has made tremendous strides for the positive. I have an amazingly affordable 2 bedroom unit that is twice the size of the vastly more expensive cracker box I lived in on Capitol Hill. I have had little to no problems with the apartment while living here and what few there were, were taken care of in an extremely swift and professional manner. Our rent did go up after a year lease was up but only 20 bucks. Good luck with your rent going up only 20 bucks on Capitol Hill or Ballard. It is quiet and I have never had an issue with noise and I feel that it is unfair for the Graham Place to be criticized for things they definitely don't control such as the noise coming from neighboring buildings and the only odors in the halls are from neighbors cooking exotic meals. Also good luck finding a place on Earth where flies don't get in. All in all I have quite enjoyed living at the Graham Place Apartments.

The property manager is a lady first name starts with R from Brittany House Apartments. She told me first come first serve so if I don't want apply please tell her. But after I emailed her and requested one more tour in the same day, she immediately replied to me that she will let another person apply and I could still apply but the first one got approved will get this unit and the another will lose the application fee. This was weird to me and made me feel this manager is not trustworthy, because she didn't keep her words. PS. This was a 1b1b rent I found from craigslist. I was told by the manager that it is "as-is" lease takeover which the new tenant will be fully responsible to the unit even if those damages done by the previous tenant. And I did a tour with the manager and then requested another tour after 2 days.(The 2nd request happened in the same day as she told me 1st come 1st serve.) Overall, I feel the manager was trying to make me apply without knowing too much about the unit's status. Be careful and hope this review helps.

The balcony was amazing, I basically grilled year round because it is big and well covered. There are some negative aspects, which I'll cover. The next door park was inhabited by slobs in the last few months I was there. Hopefully this is only a temporary problem, but to be fair it's also a Seattle wide issue right now. The walls are a little thin. You can hear other peoples' televisions and arguments, but not enough to make out what is being said. I mostly listened to music or watched TV while relaxing at home, so I didn't really notice it after awhile. I'd say it's pretty average for an older building. My apartment was west facing, so the apartment would get super hot in the afternoon sun and the heat wouldn't dissipate. I basically had to buy AC units for my living room and bedroom in order for the apartment to be livable in the summer. This probably is only an issue for west facing apartments, however. The price at the time I rented was very competitive, so if you want to save money while living in the middle of the city, this is an excellent option.

The neighborhood leaves a lot to be desired (somebody was shot and killed in the parking lot next door the day we moved in, the trash on the street includes a lot of drug paraphernalia including used needles) and when the police are called they don't respond (don't park within 5 feet of a driveway though or you will get a parking ticket). The property is gated, but that hasn't stopped multiple packages from disappearing from in front of our door. The unit itself is not much better than the neighborhood. Today I called to report our second leaking window, and was told that maintenance isn't available on the weekends so we have to wait until Monday or Tuesday for somebody to have a look at it. The appliances are pretty but don't work very well. Based on our power bills, the ease with which I hear the neighbors and the drafts from the windows I can say that the place isn't well insulated either. Pacific Living Properties purchased this property, renovated it and sold it. As there is a housing shortage in this city they won't have any problems keeping occupancy high, but be warned about what you are getting yourself into! UPDATE: We moved out when our lease was up. Had I it to do over again, I would have broken the lease and moved out early. We had 3 on-site property managers during our time there, and they got progressively worse. If you live here, make sure you take lots and lots of pictures when you move out, they will nickle and dime you. Familiarize yourself with the landlord-tenant laws. I ended up suing them and the victory felt great :)

The apartment is pretty new, when we moved into our unit no one had lived in it yet. Nothing super fancy about the interior but from the different units we saw, you do get a lot of space. Washer and Dryers are in all units. There are two garages both are accessed controlled with a garage door which is great. I'd say though both doors are really slow, would be great if it went a little faster. They recently in the last 1-2 years installed video cameras throughout the property which is nice to help feel a little more secure. For the most part we've had great relations with most of our neighbors and the apartment manager Ariana has been great as well. Squire Park is located above the International District. In my opinion pretty centrally located. To head northgate, south center or even Bellevue Downtown I'd say it's about the same time 20-25mins depending on traffic. Getting off and on to the freeways is pretty easy as well. You have a lot of options hitting I5 N or S and jumping onto I90. You could also very easily get to 520 locally if necessary as well. For us this is important because we typically drive all over the place so the ease of heading in any given direction is great. Overall cost is actually not bad at all. We've looked all over Seattle, from Cap Hill, Queen Anne, International District. Price for an apt here we would say is on the avg to low side. If you include all the additional costs, parking fees, pet fees, cleaning fees etc. Those typically are a lot more expensive other places i'd say they charge about half of what most people charge for the area. Apartment is right on the bus line. The metro picks up right in front of the apartment which is great to have. Lots of regulars when I worked downtown it was really convenient. There is also a bike lane right in front as well so that is another option. Jackson does get busy and a bit lout but thats what you get for having an apartment right on a main st. Security here is pretty good no real issues at all, there are two officers that patrol the neighborhood in general which is nice. Most folks abide by the dont let people follow you in rule. For this area we don't have to many issues. We take our dog out for a walk day or night and haven't had any problems. Having the park near by is nice, typically gets pretty rowdy during the spring/summer time. In general a decent neighborhood, we've had friends park on the st and in the neighborhoods and haven't heard of anyone getting their cars damaged. Reasons why they aren't a 5 out of 5. - To many apartment managers. We've had 2-3 managers in the time we've been here. In our opinion they have all been great. Right now we have Ariana and she has been awesome, but it sounds like they are going to switch again which becomes frustrating because you develop a great relationship with one and now gotta start all over again. - No real amenities. There is a nice roof top deck that is nice, but there is no gym or media room. If the apt cost a little more I would really expect to have all of that. - They do have some storage units but for the most part relatively limited in how many they have.

The apartment is new so its appliances and counter tops looks modern. It has microwave, so you don't have to worry about buying one. I like the view from my apartment, even though it's just buildings, houses, and trees. I just love being able to see beyond someone else's windows. It has that peaceful feeling but then it really depends on which unit you get and which direction it faces. The higher your unit, the better because the lower units doesn't really have much views. But I LOVE, LOVE the large windows. On a sunny day, you can feel the sunlight hitting into your apartment, it just brings so much energy into the apartment! You do get your own little patio, a very small one (again, depends on which unit. The manager is very laid back. If you have a problem, they generally get to it right away. It's more like a small community since the apartment doesn't have very many units. CONS: This apartment can be very loud!. First is from the road noise second, your neighbours, then third, people on the street. If you don't live on the 6th floor, you'll hear a lot of things. I feel like this apartment has very thin walls. Although it's not thin enough where I can hear every conversation, but enough where I can hear people talk, have sex, play loud music, slam their doors, etc. Even though they have double pan windows, the road noise is ridiculous. If you live on the side where the road is, wow, you need to get use to it. You can hear every car, truck, bike, bus, people passing by. And for some reason, there has been an increase amount of sirens passing by this street. I also feel obligated to mention that it's located very near a bread company. So at night, you'll hear their BIG truck passing through! It's a little better during the winter time because you don't have your windows open but you'll still be able to hear the big trucks and people's voice on the street. Summer time is the worst - not only does it get extra hot during summer time. I feel like this place doesn't ventilate well or maybe it is just my unit. (But to be fair, in Seattle, you don't get a lot of hot days. So you don't often open your windows.) You have to pay for garage parking $45/month. (There are street parking) No gym/fitness room. Some units has very limited storage space. It's pricey. So despite all the cons - I do like this place. I've gotten use to the road noise and my obnoxious neighbours. It's very close to my work And the wide open windows, plus the view - it just makes it extra homey for me.
