I had a huge stain on my carpet move in day and the rep acted surprised to later admit she knew... Really??? I pay $1650 +... 9.) Homeless people urinating in the hall ways. 10.) fecal matter on the walls occasionally that EVENTUALLY, gets handled... 11.) High crime all around. 12.) NO water pressure, at all... They turned it down and well... Never went back up. My sink and shower dribble water at best. Literally. 13.) Refusal to give higher management contact info to residents. 14.) Refusal to intake information to then be passed to higher management. 15.) The maintenance techs ARE NOT, certified. It's affirmed and I have a video of one admitting... If they are, well I'm a doctor... 16.) I upset a manager and she threatened to tack extra lease violations onto my record. Her name is ARVA by the way and guess what? She's the manager of the entire community. Ever report HR to HR? Yea... Gate keeper... 17.) Lack of systems and process via their end. Aka bad communication, follow thru, appt time and dates...etc EVERYTHING. From my experience at least... 18.) I'll leave here, they love to solicit good reviews after move in or after they do something "kind"... so don't be fooled. We all have that ex who was great then suddenly... Not so much. Anna and the whole office staff have been phenomenal the whole time I have lived here. Any time there is a maintenance issue or anything,they are on TOP of it. They are very nice and always going above and beyond as well. We love our apartment and the vibe and aesthetic of it as well. :) The only thing I will advise you of is the area can be a little loud and overwhelming sometimes as there are a lot of homeless individuals and drunk people on the weekends, just an fyi. All depends on how you like to live. Transit access is phenomenal as well with the light rail station across the street and two major bus stops right beside you as well! I love the heights. We lucked out and got an apartment with all new appliances, which was lovely! I recommend checking them out for your future or current housing needs!

Overall, it's been a good experience but there are so many things that make this place not worth the price tag. Pros: Location- Great spot and walkable to so much. Tenants- good people and high probability of making friends. Young professionals, dog lovers Thick walls: I rarely hear my neighbors -- very, very rare. Aesthetics: the apartments themselves look really nice Washer/dryer: in unit and actually good quality. I've had some awful laundry units in apartments but these are legit and work well. Cons: Break ins: I am not exaggerating when I say tenants are constantly getting their bikes stolen, it's a monthly occurrence at least. (Theres bike storage in the garage for tenants ) Storage in the apartment: it's crazy how much planning did not go into the actual apartment. For example: my pantry is a closet that has zero shelves....my bedroom closet didn't have a full hanger rack when I moved in. Little things that make zero sense. Some kitchens barely have a drawer for silverware. Things that you may not notice while doing a walk thru but notice once you move in. No AC or ventilation: this is common in Seattle, I get it but please pay attention to what direction your apartment faces. I face west and live in a loft. Heat rises. It is miserable hot. It can be 70 degrees outside but 78 inside because of the lack of airflow. Even with an AC unit (these help but you better keep all the shades down and keep it running ALLLL day/night - plus depending on your setup, you may have to move furniture around to use an AC unit) The complex has AC units available to rent ... it isn't even that hot yet and it's already hard to get my bedroom (upstairs) under 72 degrees by 9pm. The complex should offer free AC units with how hot these apartments get. When it's nice/window season, you may not want to open your window because of how loud the road is. Even on the 4th floor, if you leave your balcony door/windows open, you will wake up from traffic/buses/people on 24th and 65th. It's not quiet...at all. Amenities: these have gotten better but still not great compared to what you can get at other places. They have done some work on the rooftop but it's still just fine. No gym, TVs aren't great, etc. The building itself needs new carpet/fresh paint on the walls. Look at the stairwells. Yes, I'm being picky but for the price, it should look better. As a whole, these apartments are fine but overpriced for what they are. You are paying for location and a "good looking" apartment. For the price, they should come with AC units, have more amenities, and updates in the actual building. Management and maintenance are good, I haven't had any issues there. This review isn't meant to bash BPL but give future residents a heads up and an honest expectation of what it's like to live here. I wouldn't choose an East (am sun) or West (pm sun) facing loft apartment. Seriously, too hot. I bet south facing is your best bet (less busy road, no direct sun). Lofts are cute but I'd suggest a flat. Hope this helps!

We stayed at The LeeAnn for several months…read more We really loved the building. We loved the location - how walkable it was to downtown Seattle. We loved that our side of the building wasn't attached to the elevators and had a set of stairs which was primarily what we used to come and go from the building. They had an amazing gym and while I didn't use them much they did have several meeting rooms for residents. I loved the layout of the apartment. It was rather unique in that it was two stories and had one and a half baths. The half bathroom was on the ground floor which worked perfectly for my husband and the upstairs bathroom also had the washer dryer in it. It had a very large closet and the bedroom was perfectly sized - although we would have preferred no carpet. The neighborhood was extremely quiet and we had a small patio so I was able to have the door open and get a ton of fresh air. My main experience issue was the staff - the front desk tended towards being standoffish and the manager, although the friendlier of the two, often brought an absolutely massive dog into the lobby who was not friendly. Their site engineer was very nice but was unable to fix either of our wall units (both were rented to us not working). After he left I had an allergic reaction to something he brought into the space so we just never attempted to have them fixed again. All in all, we were told they have issues with the wall units every year, so we likely won't return until they renovate and put in new ones, however we would have considered relocating to the LeeAnn permanently if the wall units had worked and site maintenance was less of a stressor on my allergies.

And the apartment itself is amazing, no complaints. Loved it since the day we moved in, and I've had some seriously bad apartments in the past. It's always quiet, the entire building has people who are very respectful and quiet. The other property manage, Jen - the recent review about her isn't far off. I've never personally dealt with her more than once, but i'm not sure if she's technically in a resident facing position unless Genni is gone. She's not the worst but she's never been particularly helpful, and has a very curt attitude. She always seems annoyed that she has to be there, and will not know the answer to your questions if you ask them. Genni will, and if she doesn't she will find out quickly and get back to you. The country music mentioned in the reviews does play in the lobby but it definitely is not blaring. Haha. All in all I'd recommend it!

It is far enough away from the fray of downtown to feel peaceful yet be close enough to take a 10-minute Uber or bus to be in the action. Laundy on the property. Easy street parking. When I looked it up on Yelp for the first time I was a bit suspicious it had such high ratings but now I know they're justified. BACKGROUND - I am a Seattle transplant. Just graduated and just moved here fresh out of college. I wanted to live somewhere affordable, convenient, nice and still close enough to where all the fun stuff was. I looked at Cap Hill and the prices were outrageous. So the I landed on NAMU from an ad on Craigslist. LOCATION - around 5-10 minute drive from downtown Seattle and downtown Capitol Hill. Close enough for a short bus ride or a cheap Uber pool. If you check on the walk score it's around high 80s and the crime rate for the area is really low. Generally, it's closer to the suburbs. It's quiet at night because of that but occasionally there will be a siren once a week or people yelling once in a blue moon. But generally, really quiet. CONVENIENCE- I live right next to Safeway and can walk there in under 30 seconds which has saved my life many times. There's also a cute plant shop downstairs if you like plants and a Dominos pizza is opening soon, there's a Vietnamese sandwich place near the Safeway as well. The Safeway is open late which is great. There's also a YMCA a block away if you want to workout nearby! APT AMENITIES - in terms of amenities it is solid given how much rent you are paying. There's a bike rack, and a nice rooftop. None of my packages have EVER been stolen from the lobby and I've see packages left there for days so everyone in the building respects that. You can pay extra for storage and the laundry machines are on the 2nd and 3rd floor, which TAKE CARD. Generally they are full on the weekends but I haven't had an issue waiting long times for laundry. There's no pool, or lounge, trash chute or gym. The only things I wish the room had: an oven, a dishwasher (I just do my dishes by hand), and a closet. But I've adjusted. If you need these things to survive, consider that before you move in or if you have a ton of stuff / furniture / clothes because it likely won't fit. NOISE - Honestly, I'm assuming the insulation is top notch because I've heard my neighbors maybe once. ROOMS - The apartment was made in 2015 or something. I moved in 2017 and was the second tenant ever! The rooms are small, around 250-300sqft but I have enough room for a full-size bed, a queen size futon, a wardrobe hanger, and a small dining table and a bookshelf and no issues. It's a perfect studio for a single person and more than enough room to be comfy. Note there isn't a closet though so you'll have to make do with a buy your own closet thing. I really appreciate the mini fridge as it is honestly big enough for one person and since I live by Safeway I never really needed too much space anyway. The bathrooms are clean and modern and there's a big window too which is really nice in the mornings. LANDLADY / MAINTENANCE - This is what prompted me to write this review. The landlady, Sonya, has been nothing but incredible and responsive. She texts back almost immediately and even helped me once when I locked myself out of my room at midnight, and helped me get a package when I accidentally locked it. She's very thoughtful and kind and honestly I never knew how awesome thanks would be to have a great landlady until I met her! She also schedules maintenance once you report a problem to her. The maintenance guy, Mike, lives in the complex and shows up right on time to help fix your issues and is polite and nice. There was an incident where our hot water heater stopped working for around a day and Sonya immediately notified all the residents on the situation and provided suggestions for other solutions. And she even decorated the front door and lobby with a Christmas tree for the holidays!! Tldr - This is a great place to live if you're moving to Seattle as a single person. The rooms are "small" but modern, clean, and more than enough space for a studio. The facilities are brand new, and the landlady is awesome. The rent is affordable and I've I'm very happy living here and feel safe.

It's in a great location (just outside the hectic areas, but close enough to walk to everything), has high ceilings, lots of modern amenities and I really miss living there. It is probably one of the coolest places I have ever lived. So, why the 1-star review? Here's the deal: If you are planning to BUY a condo here, ignore the star review (in fact, for buyers I would rate it a "5"). However, if you plan to LEASE a unit, think really hard before you do so. The HOA needs to approve every unit to be rented, which means if your lease is up and they don't approve it then you're kicked out. Or, if you have a legitimate reason to terminate your lease early (regardless of what your lease says) it still needs to be approved by the HOA before it can be re-rented, which mean you could be stuck paying rent for several months on an empty unit. (And they don't allow sub-leasing, btw.) The HOA takes zero consideration of the tenant's situation and only considers the "hardship" of the owner of the unit (your landlord), which means you are basically treated as if you don't exist. Trust me, I have first-hand experience with them, and they only look at me as a "name on a piece of paper" instead of a person who could use a little bit of compassion. So to sum it up: If you want to buy a unit, go for it. It's an excellent place to live in Seattle. If you want to rent, however, you may want to look at other nearby apartment complexes, especially if you want to stay longer than your initial lease (min 1 year, max 2 years) or have an unpredictable life that may change without warning.

Plants surrounding the building give it more of a park feeling with a lot of private areas for sitting and having quiet conversations. The gym is fairly large with treadmills, elliptical machines, a row machine, universal gym and free weights. I know the units themselves are very different but my particular unit I really like. High ceilings, open layout with floor to ceiling glass windows with unobstructed views of the Space Needle and Lake Union are spectacular.

They even come with pre-installed window fixtures that fit the aesthetic perfectly. Loved! The grounds are kept up weekly (great landscaping that changes with the seasons) and there is a great little cafe attached to the building called Cafe Barjot. (good food, drinks, baked goods, and espresso!) The building also does a lot of nice things like holding your packages for you and hosting happy hours for all residents - this was especially nice for new people who had just relocated to Seattle. There's also an attached garage and an elevator. I think you get a lot for your money here - and if you work in South Lake Union area (Amazon, Fred Hutch, SCCA, etc) you can even walk to work.

I believe the owners of the bldg FINALLY hired an evening security guard to monitor, but can't believe it took literally a full year that we were there (and now that we're moving out). We've had our vespa damaged in an attempted theft, as well as the car broken into and stuff stolen from it. With the security issue hopefully addressed I'd give Belroy vintage units a 4 out of 5.

Organizing events, decorating the lobby for holidays, and making sure things are running smoothly. I've always been easily able to get ahold of them either in-person or through email and they've always been super helpful and accommodating. The Shelby apartments is also wonderfully located. There are bike paths on 2nd, 4th, and Bell street, making it easy to get around. There's a lot of bus routes that pass through 3rd avenue just a block away making it super convenient to get around Seattle without a car. Additionally, Pike place market, the Space needle/Seattle center, Westlake center (light rail station which provides more access to Seattle/Bellevue and the airport) are all under a 10 minute walk away. The apartments themselves are nicely sized and have a good layout. Additionally the Shelby has an intercom system to control who can access the building. During the summer, parades go through 4th Avenue, right in front of the Shelby Apartments which provides an excellent viewing balcony for residents. Last year I watched the pride parade and Seahawks Super Bowl parade from there. Finally, noise wasn't too much of a concern. Living in a city, you'll have to expect some noise but the walls are thick enough that I never heard my next door neighbors and with the windows closed, I would rarely hear sounds from the street/alley. If you're looking for an apartment in Seattle, I would highly recommend looking at the Shelby apartments and considering it for your next home!
