We came here on a Saturday and had purchased our tickets the Monday before for the 9am-1pm block. I was surprised it was not crazy crowded for a holiday weekend, but I think it may be due to them limiting the amount of tickets that can be bought. My 3 year old son and I truly enjoyed this museum and all the fun exhibits. My son would have stayed in the water exhibit all day if I would have let him. The staff were friendly and helpful. Pack an extra pair of clothes in case your child gets super wet. My son only had to change his shirt thanks to the jacket they provide to keep them dry. You cannot bring outside food in so when we were done for the day, we went outside to enjoy a packed lunch. I will definitely plan to be back as this is truly an amazing children's museum.

So much to do here! Imaginative play, mining for gems, art classes and so much more! Plenty of free parking and a cute little cafe to buy food and drinks. The girls had so much fun here. Their favorite exhibits were the water play and out space exhibit. The staff all were all nice and friendly!

WOWWWW..Today was much needed! What a beautiful place for kids to learn, explore, and burn off energy! This museum was bright, clean, and super interactive from the moment we walked in. My husband, grandson, and I absolutely loved the creative stations, especially the flower-making art area and the energy exhibit where he got to "power" a Mars settlement. One of the highlights of the day was the carousel outside, it was such a classic and joyful experience. The music, the colors, the excitement, our grandson absolutely loved it, and honestly, so did we, (I have never been on a carousel before)! It's little touches like that that make the visit feel magical. His other favorite spot (and the one he stayed in the longest) was the spacecraft area. He was completely drawn in, pretending to be an astronaut, pushing buttons, climbing in and out of the station like he was really on a mission. It was one of those moments where you just know they're going to remember it forever. There's so much to do here, STEM play, crafts, hands-on science, climbing zones, imaginative play, even outdoor topiary animals and dinosaur statues that are perfect for photos. The whole vibe is playful, peaceful, and inspiring. I also loved the quote on the wall that said, "To Whom Much is Given, Much is Required." That really stuck with me. This is definitely one of the best places for families in the Triad. Whether you're planning a day trip or celebrating a birthday, you won't be disappointed. We'll definitely be going back!

Wow this place is amazing. We are able to spend 4 hours here today and there was never a dull moment. The carousel is included and was definitely a hit. There is a cafe area inside with food and snacks that are adult and kid friendly. Its 2 stories high activities on both levels, an outdoor playground area, stem lab, inside playground type area like literally so much to do. Staff was fantastic! This is definitely a great place to bring the kids!

Have visited this museum a few times and every experience has been wonderful. There is so much for kids to do!! I took my 4 and 1 year olds and both had a great time. My 4 year especially loved the NASA station, the climbing area and the carousel. My 1 year old enjoyed the vet station and the water play area. They also have a toddler play area for the smallest kiddies that both of my kids liked. They have a great little snack area where you can purchase snacks and light bites for an affordable price. The staff are very friendly and the whole museum is clean. Parking can be hard if it's busy but local parking has some no tow areas that you could walk from. You are guaranteed a great visit if you come here because there's so much to do!!

*not us trying to be regular visiotirs* We were absolutely blown away! My 18 month old had so much fun, and it's a space definitely geared toward older kids. The first level is a water play zone, city/town, and toddler playground (but was a bit boring for her). Outside is a large play area and a double decked carousel! Upsides is all geared toward STEAM activities with a huge Mars exhibit. Such a cool space! Restrooms available throughout and well maintained. Small cafe inside to eat and picnic tables outside. The parking lot is large and can accommodate a lot of vehicles.

This place is fantastic! We were blown away by how much they had to offer and our daughter had a blast here. Some highlights were the double decker carousel, water table room, upstairs stem area, downstairs area with city like themed rooms and the smaller children's play area. This place could easily entertain kids most of the day

I'm all for a good place to occupy mind, body, and soul for the kiddos. So far, this has been my absolute favorite spot! If you can afford to take the kids out to a museum, this is definitely the one I'd recommend. Though not the cheapest option, the range of activities throughout provide plenty of quality fun and exploration for all ages. On top of that, it's a great way to kill time and/or exhaust the kiddos for bedtime. We find ourselves moving all over the museum with the kids easily getting swept up in each designated location whereas at other destinations, they would get bored quickly and fly through all the play options. Admission covers unlimited rides on the carousel too! They just ask that you step off and re-enter if you're wanting to do back to back rides. Can't wait to go back!

Came to this children's museum with my sister and my 2 year old nephew. We visited so many areas of the museum. So much to do and so many areas for my nephew to play in. Each area has staff members that interact with the kids and everyone is so friendly. Everything seems to be clean and sanitized on a regular basis. All play areas are interactive and have knowledgeable facts that we even learned from! We spent maybe 3 hours here and didn't even hit everything they have to offer. We ate beforehand so I didn't get to try anything at the cafe, but their menu consisted of light snacks and coffee/ energy drinks to keep the parents energized as their kids play.

Third time bringing my son here and he always has a great time! There is so much stuff to do up to about the age of 12-13. Everything is nice, clean & in working order. I would recommend going earlier in the day, it does get packed after a while and also taken into consideration you need to purchase your ticket ahead because they only sell a specific number per day. They have an outdoor area, theater and a double decker carousel!

A-MAZ-ING. With two kids currently 9 and 4, I have been to my fair share of these types of interactive children's museums. Qubein is by far the cleanest and least crowded (maybe from being in High Point) and I love how much there was to do for my kids range or ages. We were there on a saturday afternoon and were welcomed by a climbing structure that reminded me of rainbow colors pringles. My kids enjoyed the NASA space area and I especially loved that there were scavenger hunts in the exhibits. This made it much more engaging for the older one, while the little one could just wander around looking at exhibits at his own pace. The 'Touch' area was a hit for the little one, he spent alot of time pretending to be a dentist and grocery shoping. Meanwhile my eldest and I spent time in the mystery section. The best way to describe it is a wing of the museum where you can solve dozens of 'escape room' type mysteries! There are different levels of mysteries you can take on and they involve searching for clues and solving riddles. We spent a good hour and half in that section and as an adult who loves escape rooms, i thought the entry fee was worth it just for that section. If you're ever in the area, its down the street from the Largest Chest of Drawers, so don't forget to get your photo op!

Wanted to share my experience with this children's museum, first, make sure you purchase tickets online, we didn't do that and took our chance and fortunately they still had some walk- in tickets available, but because we went early, they said after 2pm they tend to pretty much sell out. We explored the two floors' hands-on exhibits(my kiddo loved the water exhibit the most), the Hall of Mysteries, their Outdoor Adventure Zone, the Double-Decker Carousel, arcade room and more! They do have a snack bar, but don't expect meals. It's is great for birthday parties! We had such a great time and definitely recommend taking your kiddos to this exciting place! 10/10 recommend, we will be back for sure! !

I would drive even more than 30 minutes to visit this children's museum again. I can't believe it's taken me this long because I've been missing out. With two floors of activities, plus the outside and dedicate water room, this is an all day place. We squeezed in as much as we could with our time constraints (had a birthday party to get to) but we definitely could have spent more time here. There's something for every age, but if you have kids with large age gaps, consider tag-teaming with family or friends so the similar age kids can go on to other activities while the littles hang back. You can get food inside the museum, so you don't even have to leave for lunch. Such a wonderfully planned out, clean, place to take the family.

Admission to the museum is free but they take donations or you can make a purchase in the gift shop. I was greeted when I arrived and told about filming going on at the time. I was given an overview of the museum and then went to explore. The museum is a large one that is on two levels and has an elevator if you prefer not to use the stairs. The top floor covered the history of High Point with detailed storyboards and artifacts. A school bus could be gotten on and "driven". A room near the back had miniature houses that was neat to look at all the details. The lower level of the museum was mostly about the furniture. This was my favorite part of the museum to read and see what goes into make the furniture from start to finish. The tools used to create the designs. I was impressed. The highlight for all three of us was definitely the stingray touch tank, getting that close and actually petting them was so cool. And seeing the penguins up close? Absolutely amazing. There's just something special about watching a child experience these things for the first time. It took me right back to when I came as a kid, and getting to share that with my grandchild made it even more meaningful. The staff was consistently friendly and helpful, the temperature inside was comfortable, and the weather outside cooperated beautifully. We also appreciated how manageable the crowds were and parking was better than expected, we even snagged a front spot! The reason this is four stars instead of five comes down to timing and expectations. We visited during spring break, which is one of the busiest weeks of the year, and unfortunately several exhibits we were looking forward to, including the red panda, the tigers, and the meerkats, were not available. For a week when families, grandparents, and school groups are specifically planning around this visit, you would hope the full experience would be ready to go. It was a noticeable disappointment, especially for the little ones. That said, what was available was genuinely enjoyable and we will definitely be back, hopefully with the full lineup next time!

Now, I'm not a stick in the mud, but it was soooo uncomfortable walking through there with loud "fs" and "s" words being shouted over and over. I'm sure they could play those songs and have the clean version played or just select universal songs. It definitely limits the type of clientele. I wish I had gotten to know her. Years ago, I went back to her shop. Mrs. Gray had died years before. It was overwhelming and a lot of fun. I think the grand daughter or niece of Mrs. Gray was my friendly hostess in the store. I was allowed to roam the store freely - alone, stunned and amazed. They had named the place Elsewhere and there was some sort of organized group connected to the place. I got on their mailing list and sent them a contribution. Some years later, in 2014, I returned to my beloved hometown, Greensboro, for a visit. An old friend of mine and I walked the length of Elm Street, starting at the few blocks leading up to the Jefferson Standard Building - heading toward Lee Street. I relived many memories of my youth, my "hippie days" (circa 1967) and my working class hero days on that walk. We stopped in a lot of shops and the clerks and customers were friendly and seemed to like us. We supported those shops by making some purchases. It was quite a pleasant stroll. We reached Elsewhere. The museum offers guided, self-guided, and virtual tours if you can't make it to Greensboro. I've done the guided tours and the self-guided tours. With the guided tour, you are provided with background information as you go through, and directed to specific things in each gallery. With the self-guided tours, you start with a video overview of what you will see in each gallery, then you go through the museum at your own pace. One tour isn't better than the other; it just depends on what you prefer. This museum is special in that it is located inside the 1929 F.W. Woolworth building, where the 1960 sit-ins at the lunch counter began. The L-shape lunch counter and the 69 stools remain where they were in 1960. This is where you first enter the galleries. Standing in front of the lunch counter where history was changed is unforgettable. The late Phil Freelon and his firm, the Freelon Group, handled the historic renovation and turned the building into a museum. Eisterhold Associates designed the interactive exhibits. The renovation and preservation made sure that many of the 1929 features remained. From the terrazzo floors to the plaster coffered ceilings. to the lunch counter, to the original stools, to the art deco stairway, to the basement, to the exterior red and gold Woolworth sign. The original dorm furniture is located in the basement. It was the planning room for the NC A&T students. The Hall of Shame is also located in the basement. It is very graphic and difficult to view, but it is so important to see these images, as you will never forget them. Segregated Greensboro shows the segregated signs and vending machines, advertising and The Green Book. The churches played a vital role in the Civil Rights Movement, as this is where they planned. Freedom Songs helped build courage before protests. There are interactive exhibits, and you can try a literacy test to suppress voting. The museum shifts from the dark side to successes. You will see mugshots of 1,200 peaceful protestors. Most of these are from other protests after the sit-ins, paying tribute to those who fought for equality. You can read about the legal triumphs after the sit-ins. After reading about other protests in the country, make sure to read through some of the names on the Wall of Remembrance, especially those you haven't heard about before. The last gallery has many black-and-white, tile-sized photos that form a mosaic of President Obama. They represent the power of community. It is a reminder that everyday people can bring change. Photography is not allowed in the museum galleries because much of the content is copyrighted. I take a lot of photos, so this was initially a challenge. But after a while, I just got so immersed in the exhibits.

Inside the bankers barn are several wagons, including one with a false bottom that was used to hide slaves and transport them to the north. We haven't taken an "official" tour yet, but were there for the Village Fair a few weeks ago and were able to pick up a lot of history. There are a couple of important events during the year. At the fair, we saw a real blacksmith at work and several women spinning both wool and silk into yarns. We really enjoyed the presentation by "Dr. Coffin," as well as the booths, activities for the kids and more. During the holidays, there will be a candlelight tour with music and tours of the traditionally decorated rooms. If you haven't been here, it's well worth the trip and the nominal fee for the tour. You'll be very impressed.

The best place to park is likely at the lot across the street. The Chest of Drawers is on a one-way street, so you might need to plan which lane to get in if traffic is heavy. High Point is considered the "furniture capital of the world." So the 38 feet high road side attraction is fitting. The piece was originally built in 1926 to welcome people to the area and promote the furniture. The design was different, and the bureau was smaller and had a mirror. It was painted white with floral accents. It wasn't a functioning piece of furniture as the drawers didn't open. Then in 1996, Sid Lenger, a High Point craftsman and designer, transformed the piece. He wanted a proper chest of drawers, so he designed and built one with hefty brass handles. This version also doesn't open, but is meant to look like a more realistic piece of high-end furniture. He also added the two pairs of six-foot-tall socks to acknowledge the hosiery industry. I hope whatever work is being done to the chest of drawers preserves the cherry wood finish's color as intended.

Remodeled in 1996, this is the new structure. Steel framing and stucco, it stands 38 feet high with simulated brass handles. And it even includes two giant socks as a tribute to High Point's hosiery industry There is plenty of parking nearby and if you're shopping for furniture at one of these many nearby showrooms, check it out.
