A Greensboro Classic, Fun for Kids and Adults Alike!…read more I've attended a few of the adult-only events (On-Tap, 90s Night) and a couple of standard visits to the Miriam P. Brenner Children's Museum, and they are always such a treat! It's so much fun to explore the exhibits without kids around and enjoy the playful, creative atmosphere. The museum was the first children's museum in the Triad and still features some of its original exhibits -- including the iconic big red chair, which is a total photo favorite! During regular hours, the museum is perfect for kids ages 0-12, with hands-on learning and interactive play spaces that spark curiosity and imagination. But my personal favorite -- the Neptune Climber XXL -- is definitely for all ages! It's an amazing structure that brings out everyone's inner child. I mean it is 2 stories high. The staff is friendly, the events are well-organized, and the museum continues to be a special part of Greensboro. Whether you're bringing little ones or attending an adult night, this place never fails to bring smiles and good memories.

Inside you will find life size vehicles for children to explore such as a real fire truck, police car, big rig, race car and ambulance. They even have a section of an airplane for kids to sit inside. It's a great place for children to use their imagination and get up close to the cars and trucks they enjoy playing with at home. There is also a pretend grocery store, pizza parlor, play house, construction site and doctors office. The toddler area allows free play for littles and is enclosed. Another section of the museum also has a water station. Outside you'll find a garden with a mud kitchen, fruits and vegetables, as well as a chicken coop. The additional outdoor section is a massive climbing area with ropes for dayzzzz. The staff is so friendly and they just started implementing a frequent visitor pass. I believe after 5 visits you get free admission. You can get a punch card at the front desk. I thought that was neat, and also encourages families to visit again. It's the least stimulating museum we've visited and much more enjoyable than the Kaladieum in Winston salem which has TV's and screens everywhere. Though this museum is geared towards a younger crowd, it's nice that parents have a place to bring children that sparks imagination, creativity and can be a break from the constant exposure of electronics that younger kids are so often drawn towards.

We arrived about 1:30pm on a Saturday afternoon. The parking area had a dozen or so cars. We proceeded to the covered barn and were immediately greeted by the family. The young man was friendly and efficient, we also learned that veterans receive free admission which was a welcome surprise, very nice touch! We also learned they have swag including shirts, baseball hats, stickers and decals. They were selling Colts signature honey and Carolina Gold oils made from sunflowers. They were down to their last bottle of garlic oil so they set it aside for us. We grabbed a bucket which was already equipped with cutters for us to cut our own sunflowers. The back field was where we were headed and the casual stroll back was enjoyable. There are beautiful flowering bushes and flower fields along the way and I was able to capture several cool pics with butterflies as well. The sunflower field was beautiful and we immediately began taking pictures. We commented that we should have brought the drone to capture the farm. We ended up cutting eight sunflowers to take home and arrange. Once up at the covered barn area they wrapped the sunflowers up and we selected our various swag items. Very cool local family business. It's such a peaceful and relaxing experience. The best part is that it's so inexpensive. It only costs $5 to explore the grounds, and is $1 for picked sunflowers and $5 for 12 wildflower stems. They provide the buckets and the clippers. You get to pick whichever flowers you'd like. They'll even wrap up the flowers for you before you leave.

Meet I was a basket case worried that our granddaughter wouldn't meet up with us again because there was people everywhere, and even though I was physically unable to walk all the way down there. And as several times about benches, three different people passed me on tractors with trailers on atvs. Nobody offered to help me walk down there. Get a chair for me. Nothing very rude, very, very rude. The place looked like a redneck thrown together. Junk pile, it was not worth $15 a person. We had to buy a coat for our granddaughter. Because it got cold and we weren't expecting that, and they sold it to us at full price. Even though the shoulders were faded from it, setting on the hanger for so long. I will never ever ever drive the hour to get there. Even if somebody paid me Oh, and the flowers that you pay to pick fifteen dollars for a vase, and you can get your flowers.They look like they wouldn't even make it twenty four hours after you picked them.They were that spent.

We got to try hot cider for the first time which was delicious. I even sat with a native man who gave us a feather and told us so much! He was great. If I'm correct it was $13 a person? The alpacas wander around you while you're doing yoga and the instructor encourages you to take pictures. Candice was our instructor & she was phenomenal. She was so kind & encouraging which made the class a lot of fun. After yoga the staff is more than happy to take photos of you with the alpacas. You also get a bucket of food to feed them after the class is over. Alpaca yoga is only a couple of months a year but if you have the chance to do it, I highly recommend! You can also visit the alpacas and feed them for $10 which I'll definitely be back to do. They also have pumpkins and Christmas trees. Such a cool place to have in Greensboro!

They suggested we come check out this art center. I'm so glad they did! You walk into GreenHill and see gallery rooms and children's art exhibit through the center hall. Walk past the info desk til you come to the studio. They have books and a fun art installation after passing through the first room. Keep walking and they have markers and colored pencils and paper to draw. In the back they have an easel wall - string and clips with color paper to paint. There were tables for clay and one attendant was setting out mirrors for the kids to do self portraits. All this was free when we went On Fridays they have story time and art for a nominal cost. Check their website for more information. I don't know all the things here :)
