Purchasing the necessary cards was tedious if you're trying to buy multiple cards at one time. The first train that arrived, we had to get out of because there was such a heavy urine smell in it. It was really bad. The next one that came shortly afterwards was fine and we were able to easy go spend the day downtown.

This area always feels safe and the maintenance workers do a great job keeping it clean. There are concrete sitting areas in addition to tri-met's shelters for each bus. The max train area has several benches and covered areas. There is a large parking area if you wish to park and ride. I've never noticed any vandalism in the parking area. Buses 52 and 88 stop here along with the blue line.

It has a couple of features that make it stand out from all the rest. I cannot give any adequate name to them and cannot describe them in a reliable way because I'm very nearly totally right brained. That being said, one of them is some sort of device that picks up distant sound and amplifies it so you can hear the train coming down the track way before you see it, same with the train horn, but the best of all it picks up birdsong and it's a really beautiful and surreal kind of experience. The other feature is like a very sophisticated set of wind chimes. They're all wired up to the inside of the station, and when they pick up the vibrations of the train on the tracks, the "wind chimes" start playing. Waiting here for a train is an exercise in auditory delight, very playful, and something very unexpected in this quiet neighborhood.

This last Wednesday, 12/14/16, the snowflakes weren't supposed to fly until about 2 to 4 p.m…read more While still at work around noon, I swore I saw some flying snowflakes, and said to my co-worker that either I was hallucinating or I saw snowflakes. She tried to make me believe I was hallucinating, but we finally had to agree that it was those darned snowflakes (as pretty as they are) were flying. We decided to hang around a bit longer and see what transpired. What transpired were the pretty snowflakes coming faster and sticking. After getting phone calls from other employees that the snow was sticking and driving was very slippery, my co-worker dropped me off here at the Elmonica station and within minutes I was back in downtown Portland and then to my apartment feeling real relief. The train was a little crowded, but it ran like clockwork into Portland. It was well heated and comfortable. Everybody remained cheerful and friendly. After what transpired the rest of the afternoon and evening, I am truly grateful for the availability of MAX and the smoothness of the ride home.

On one side of the station is the Tualatin Hills Nature Park. The trail entrance here is paved and many people enjoy walking this trail. On the other side is a drive way where the bus and vans stop.

There aren't usually many people waiting here for the bus or train, and I've always felt very safe here. Just a usage tip for the train: be sure when you get on the train at your first stop that this blue-line train says Hillsboro or Merlo & SW 158th in the appropriate train windows. If the sign says "Hillsboro," you will be able to get off at all the stops all the way to Hillsboro. If it says, "Merlo 158th" on the sign, that is where the run ends (which is near the west-side Tri_Met garage).

I called dispatch and was told the driver considered me a no show. The dispatcher then said they'd send another cab but they never did and would not answer the phone when I called. They stood me up two more times when I was stuck downtown, one time late at night. I now realize they 86'd me without bothering to say so, preferring to leave me stranded and waiting. How vindictive and passive-aggressive! I will definitely get the word out to boycott this company and I intend to report Radio Cab to the Better Business Bureau. Showed up on time, at least ten minutes early, we just noticed the van parked quietly out front. The driver was unhurried, polite and personable. His driving was smooth, he loaded and unloaded our luggage. At $45 + tip, the same price as a cab, but much nicer, and, most important, he showed up as promised!
