Inside the station, the interior was stunning, with artifacts on the high ceiling, marble walls and lots of space for passengers to sit. There was a small cafe and gift shop in the station. We had couple of luggages that the staff carried from the train to the baggage pick up. We had them handed over to us within five minutes. Once we stepped outside, the historical building looked old and had signs of aging. It also had a huge clock tower The waiting area was also little shady. But we debarked and left the station without any issues.

It's even more user-friendly now than it was back then, and the "you're fully paid for the day after 2 rides" option is great. This station looks like it's ready for a little bit of a makeover. There isn't a lot of information readily available, which would be a big help for first time-users, but if you know you're coming here, you can get all that online. There's only one MAX card machine here, but perhaps you only need one given how easy it can be to pay using a smartphone app or a credit card with a tap option. It would also be nice to know how many minutes the current train will be there before departing by a sign somewhere, but navigation services on apps can also give you that information.

When the attendants and conductors on passenger trains complain that "there will be long stretches of travel at no more than 15mph because the tracks are in need of repair" it makes me pity anyone or any company that relies on faulty shared equipment. When there is weather that messes with the safety of your tracks, slowing your freight AND Amtrak's paying customers (who have lives outside the railroad), clean it up! And not as the last task of the day! Yes, a freighter can slow down or tip on the tracks, and, yes, it's going to mess up your schedule. But a higher priority is the health of the real-life humans you share the road with. A 6-hour delay is unacceptable news from UP excavators. I have been riding TriMet frequently since 5/2019 and this station is no exception because I would often walk around the waterfront near the Yamhill district as a way to keep my mind off of my ex and the person she dumped me for. This station is a bit finicky because the design is tough but it is overall safe because TriMet PD and TSS (TriMet Security services) are often around here so I don't have to fear any bad people including the guy my ex dumped me for. There's also a lack of places to sit because if you don't like perch seats this is not for you. Overall because this station is frequently used, the trains that come here are not often delayed and if you need to go somewhere quick the trams come just in time. Drawback: some drivers would pause here so please be prepared to wait.

Alrighty then! Stand up straight, lift your head and look around (just like your mom has always told you; in this particular instance, your mom is right, otherwise you might get hit by a train --OUCH). You can jet over for a spot of tea at Starbucks in City Target or even pick up items for lunch. Scoping the Brooks Brothers' window will show you how to be sartorially splendid in Portland. Now keep turning until you've turned your back on Brooks Brothers and are now visually exploring the Boys Fort window (along with an in-house florist). You'll be able to pick up some beautiful handcrafted items for yourself or as gifts for friends or family. You will need to walk a few feet to Petersons on Morrison and pick up snacks, drinks, or cigarettes to keep you going on the MAX train westbound. The final stop on our tour is a swimsuit (and lots of other swim items) shop where you can suit up and swim out. See what I mean? You need never be bored again while standing at this stop. Yay!! My work is done!
