We stayed at the farmhouse suite which was a separate building a short drive away. 2 bedrooms, one California king and a second room with two twin beds. Each room had its own thermostat which was very nIce. Breakfast is at 745a in the main house. We will grab a bite on our way to the mountain. You could have breakfast earlier if you wish. We checked in at the main house and met Jim, owner. Valerie owner, showed us our quarters she was preparing them as we arrived. There have been a few upgrades recently. The place is serviceable for a ski weekend. We are about 4 miles rom Elk Mountain resort. There is a package store a few steps away and a gas pump. We both slept well the bed is comfortable. Bathroom and kitchen serviceable. There is a tv with limited cable. Breakfast was fine many items on offer and cooked to order by the proprietor. A few other couples were seen on our second morning. Our farmhouse suite is unoccupied but for the two of us. Brown water. Something about a carpenter. They provided bottled water. A few of the lights were not functional. Garage and storage trailers spoil the porch view of the sunset. They need to plant a row of hedges. Electric heat. Ok but wake up a bit dried out. The drive to Elk was about 10 mins. The parking pass was really grreat we drove right up to the lodge and parked five steps away from the entrance. Extremely convenient. A decent place with great people, good breakfasts and location. The house is well set up so that there is plenty of space for guests to be out and about in the house without feeling like you are on top of each other. Even better if you had a large group traveling together. It seems there are quite a few regulars who stay here annually and I can understand why. It's a wonderful place and well recommended.

THANK YOU‍ From the time I arrived (3:20 pm), I was greeted by the beautiful & radiant spirit Ms. Vanessa, the Inn hospitality Manager. Her heartfelt words wrapped around my core; saying WELCOME HOME. Oh, and it was home at its finest. From the 4pm welcome social, that included delicious White & Red wines that danced graciously on your palate. Various delectable cheeses, crackers, olives & thinly sliced turkey meats. YUMMY, they were! Movie nights, s'more's & more libation at your choice. The next morning, a scrupulously delicious breakfast was served; with a fresh brewed coffee from Ethiopia & a freshly squeezed grapefruit hearty drink. Yoga awaits me at 11am. Tonight (11/8), Saturday with my incredible cousins and their lovely friends who joined us on a "Cousin's Girl Weekend", will be celebrating me & my birthday . I'm definitely going to post the pictures later on tonight. The Bed and Breakfast is only 2 hours from NYC (UWS) Manhattan, NY. You will not regret this treat to SELF or a love one.

The two of them are a dynamic duo who complement each other perfectly and could not have been more accommodating throughout the entire wedding planning process. They had brilliant ideas and great vision from the very start. Mary helped plan all of the logistics of the weekend and baked a delicious cake. She was also a great resource for local vendors within the community. Mark was a master chef and the go to person when it came to last minute items (My family and friends are still talking about the food). We very much appreciate their generosity--of time, support, and thoughtful ideas--and cannot thank them enough for all of their hard work. It truly paid off. The grounds were very well kept and there was always something to do with the pool and lake activities. Most importantly, thanks to Mark and Mary's attention to detail, we were able to thoroughly enjoy our wedding. Thank you so much Mary and Mark!!! Jay and Kathleen

If I could, I would give this duo and their family 10 stars. WIthin10 minutes of being on the Fiddle Lake Farm property I didn't want to leave it and in fact was determined to write this review in that instant. However I did not, as It was intended to be a romantic ski trip weekend that could also fulfill my craving for adrenalin. Despite being an adrenalin junkie and it being the first big snowfall of the season, I would have been perfectly content playing board games with my honey there on the farm, or gone cross country skiing through the hilly acreage, or kicking back to learn a thing or two about what it means to live off the grid and give back to the environment from the lovely Pam and Craig. If you're looking to pamper yourself or forgot what it meant to relax - hang out at the farm; you've found the right place. I can't wait to return and learn more about the history of the property or better yet, the future of it!

We were quickly seated, and the place was pretty full. It looked like a private event (bridal shower?) was happening outside. We both ordered the same things. The soup and salad option with the French onion upgrade and Caesar salad. The French onion was one of the best I have ever had. The broth was rich, the onions were plentiful, the cheese perfectly toasted, and the crouton the perfect foil. It was so good we ate it slowly and even drank the broth (I know that's uncouth, but it was so good and nobody knew us there) from the bowls. We even scraped off every single bit of the toasty cheese on the sides of the bowl. I would go there just for the soup. The salad was also good. A small portion since it was a combo option, but the dressing was excellent, there were large shreds of asiago cheese, and actual anchovies. The only complaint was that it wasn't a bigger salad. Again, left nothing on the plate. The soup and salad dish was $15 because of the upgrade for the French onion soup. The service was fantastic. The place has a rustic but elegant feel. Lots of wood. I bet this place is beautiful decorated for Christmas. Great experience and a perfect place to eat on the first day of a road trip.

I booked our cabin stay through hotels.com. The following day I received a phone call from the resort asking me for the credit card information as hotels.com did not charge us directly. No big deal. When I initially booked the cabin I didn't do my research as I usually do and was freaked out when I read that a guest had bed bugs in their room. So naturally when I received the phone call from the resort it was the perfect time to ask if they have had or were recently experiencing any issues with bed bugs. The lady (I forgot her name) told me that they did have an issue but that they only had an issue because the guest that wrote the review about the room having bugs were the ones who had brought them. I wasn't sure how I felt about that, but I had planned an entire weekend, a holiday weekend at that so I decided to give it a go. Besides the lady was nice and kinda put my worries at ease. We arrived on a Friday evening. Maria checked us in and she was just as nice. Upon getting to our room "9A" we noticed there was no place to park. I called Maria to ask her where we could park and she said she would send someone to clear out our parking spot. It had snowed a few days before so there was a bit of snow still on the grounds. Within a few minutes someone was there clearing out our parking spot. The room itself was small but cozy. It seemed like nobody had been there in some time. The bathroom was a nice size and pretty clean. I immediately started looking for bed bugs but luckily didn't find any. Thank you Jesus! LOL My only complaints are these. One of the locks on the door was broken. There weren't any toiletries, not even a small bar of soap to bathe with. And lastly, although there were no bed bugs (thank you again Jesus) I found what looked like dead bug stains on the comforter. I would have liked to give them a three and a half rating but it wasn't possible so I gotta give them a three. All in all, we were happy with our stay. Employees were nice, room was decent, and the view was fascinating. We would definitely return, and we would definitely recommend.
