The workouts are different every day and are fun, well-rounded combinations of calisthenics, cardio, and weighted stuff. The coaches demonstrate the exercises (plus modifications) at the start of class, so it feels doable for everyone. And if there's something you can't do, chances are you're not alone! I've been coming here for 9-ish years and have seen athletes of all levels join FFN. Some are new, some are injured, some are pregnant, all have a place. I really like how the coaches get to know each member's skill and comfort level over time--if you want to push yourself, they'll gladly help you do it (safely)! I just started going to their Barbell Club classes (strength training), which I'm not great at yet. There are people lifting HEAVY weights around me while I'm still learning form, but I feel really encouraged by them. It's been a fun new challenge! You'll get out what you put into this place. And I've got a forever-gym, great friends, and a fitness routine that supports my goals. Just come :) it'll be fun.

I was happy to find SHED open the morning of Thanksgiving to get in a workout before indulging in…read morean eating holiday. To try out the gym as a first time customer, the cost is only $10 for a class, so I decided to go to a SHREDDER class and set up a profile online, then was able to easily book a class. The first thing that was a bit frustrating the day of my class was that I had difficulty locating the studio. I came on foot and didn't park in the garage so I walked around trying to see the signage and had trouble. I finally found it after multiple missteps not realizing the gym is located on the 2nd floor of the building. The elevator situation was more complicated than it should be and entry through the garage is much easier. Once inside I had to wait a bit before the class started, which I thought was odd. I waited at least 10 minutes over the class time that was posted online which was a bit confusing, but I was able to sign in with a very helpful staff member who ended up teaching my class. The class I attended had different sections of exercises which were cutely named after Thanksgiving meals like "Turkey and Stuffing" etc. If you take this class, be aware that it's up to you to decide what you want to do and it's not very structured and more "choose your own adventure." The instructor will go over each section but then they let you loose and you have to decide where to go. I guess when I go to a class I like to shut down and let the instructor guide me the entire hour, so I found myself repeating more exercises than I would prefer and the class didn't go by as fast as they normally do when I'm just following along. However, it was definitely a good workout and I pushed myself despite being slightly lost at times. I am also a bit wary of expensive glam gyms because they can be intimidating but I definitely felt more comfortable here than a place like Barry's Bootcamp. The instructor was super helpful and provided some adjustments and assistance when needed without being overly annoying about it. I thought he was a great instructor! Also, they have an interesting treadmill that is super challenging, even for someone who is a pretty decent runner! Overall, I enjoyed visiting SHED and appreciated the pre-Thanksgiving workout!

They like to make sure you have perfect form before you start adding weight. They still like to push you to make sure you get a nice workout but it is always in a safe way. Nick is obsessed with keeping the gym clean. All of the equipment is clean and well maintained. The wall of windows also make sure you always get natural light while you workout. The fellow athletes are all nice, supportive and welcoming. They helped make my fitness journey and transition to Nashville much better. This is the best Crossfit box in Nashville.
