Here's the deal. I have been going here for years. I have taken 3 different vehicles to be serviced here for new tires, used tires, brakes, and regular service. I have never ever had an issue with this business until now. I still cannot believe that they did this.. About a month ago I took my truck in to get new brake pads, rotors, and calipers in the front end because I was trying to sell my truck. They did the job for a whopping $1260. I figured, I usually give them my service but this seems high. I did some shopping around, found better options, but nevertheless continued my business with these guys (I usually remain loyal to people who run a clean business, it's no big deal). Here's the kicker. About a week/week and a half after service, I started hearing a scraping noise. It was very faint at first but then got very loud and it worried me. I had another mechanic look at it (who happens to also be a friend) because I was trying to sell my truck and had someone looking at it on a certain day. I wasn't going to let him drive a potentially unsafe vehicle. So this other mechanic found the issue right away. The entire caliper was loose and scraping the inner wheel. A bolt was missing off of the top of the caliper, and the bottom bolt was loose and ready to pop off. The caliper also did damage the wheel and carved an entire perfect circle along the inner wheel. The guy that looked at my truck fixed it for a few dollars, as it took putting a bolt in and tightening the others. He also noticed the bolts on the left front side were also not on tight and the lugnuts on the wheels themselves were also not tightened to factory standards. Needless to say I was very concerned and worried about what could have happened safety-wise. I called Quality Tire and spoke with Kevin. At first he was very helpful. He told me to send him the pics and video that I had taken of the issue and he told me he'd get right on talking to his team. The next day I get a call back, stating they couldn't do anything for me since I did not bring it in to them and have them service it. 1 if you already charged me an arm during a pandemic when people are already struggling, and already didn't finish the job the first time, what's the point of bringing it back? 2 I live almost an hour away. Yes, I drive that far, because I have never had any issues with these guys. They basically told me they wouldn't give me any of my money back since I couldn't provide any sort of proof other than pics. They told me upper management said that I could just have had my friend take bolts off and sent them videos so that I could rip them off. They also told me to bring it in so they could look at it. I told them already that the job was done and I was selling it that day. They told me that it seemed sketchy that I was selling it when they said to bring it in and let them look at it. I had to be like dude I already told you I've been trying to sell it. I just wanted y'all to know you messed up and that I was upset that they failed to safely service my vehicle. At this point I was extremely offended and upset. I explained to him that I hoped he was ready then to lose a loyal customer and he basically told me there was nothing he could do for me, that upper management would not refund me anything, not a single penny. If you're going to charge someone that much for a job, and the labor doesn't get finished, how are you going to charge for labor? That could have ended badly. Something serious could have happened as a result. It's pretty sad that they resorted to "you don't have proof so we can't help you" rather than making a loyal customer feel that they could trust their mechanic. I'm so disappointed and outraged. 5 years. 5 years I've been driving an hour just for service. I'm sorry but you guys lost me. read more

Our van failed emissions, and rather than just printing out the sheet and sending us on our way, they worked with us extensively to help us actually solve the issue, unlike any other place we've been to before. As soon as I called him he made me feel I was his only customer. He immediately went into action and had a local place come right to me to replace the tire. Kept me informed the entire time. Well this is the first car repair needed since moving from Texas. Went for a simple tire patch...took only the tire for this 15 min repair. 8 hours later it still was not ready. In Texas I would have been done in 30 min. Then the manager proceeds to tell me it will be a few more hours as they have a few jobs ahead of me??? Really I was the first person in the door when they open. Are you working on yesterday's work? Are they waiting like me? Totally too slow and miss managed. Then the real kicker $32 for a tire patch? Really this is $10 in Texas. I asked what was I charged for? He said labor is $30hr! I told him that I watched the guy from the time he first touched the tire and it was 30 min. So it should be $15-$17. He then says that it is a flat rate. The mechanic did do quality work therefore they get to Two stars! John is exceptional in customer service. Brought my car in for tires to replace a flat. All my tires were checked, luckily checking the two (not planning to replace) avoided a disaster. With days before Christmas, replacing tires was the last thing I had on my giant list of To-Dos, but John found the size I needed in stock and put on 4- Bridgestone Blizzaks for a FRACTION of ordering a new set, all from his warehouse of perfectly good tires. Two days later, BAM! Blizzard Chicago Style and I was crawling around like a beach crab in the Keys! I LOVE these tires - including not having to hock jewelry to get them - and couldn't recommend Quality Tire higher. Took my car here may 2014 to get new tires and brakes checked before I moved to California. They put new brakes pads on along with new tires. Had constant chattering in rear brakes. Took it back up there and they said they fixed it. The chatter was gone for about two weeks(so my drive to California was fine) it's been over a year and a half now but only about 11000 miles since I don't drive much and the chattering was so annoying. I took it to multiple places and each place said the same thing...pads and clips were put on wrong, which caused other problems as well with the brakes and tires. Now after only 11,000 miles I need new brake pads, rotors, and some other things that were damaged from the way they were put on. $1400 service to get everything fixed plus what I paid at quality tire.... read more

In stark contrast to the other 3 reviews the service I received at this establishment was worse than horrible it was down right dangerous. My wife's car would not start one morning. On a recommendation from a friend we had the car towed to Quality. They informed us that the car needed a tune up and because we had tried so hard to start the car the starter was ruined, but they had replaced it with a junk yard starter. The next morning the car would not start.They towed it back at their expense and replaced the starter with another junk yard starter. My wife also noted that one of her bumper stickers (a local 150 union bumper sticker) was defaced. The next day the brake line broke and we had them fix that also. We had now spent almost $800 at Quality. A few days later my wife was complaining that the starter was acting funny. It seemed normal to me so I ignored her. Then the car started over heating. My wife had met a different mechanic who actually owned an olde suburban so she decided to take the car to him for this repair. She also asked him to check the starter. He told us the starter was pulling too many amps and was likely damaging the fly wheel. We took the car back to Quality and informed them of what the other mechanic said and could they please replace the starter again. The next day they called back and said there was nothing wrong with the starter but the fly wheel was damaged and it would cost $1100 to replace. It was a Saturday and I was at a convention in Hoffman Estates, but the mechanic was leaving at noon, we had to get the car to him quickly to get it done Monday. I asked that they bring the car to my house and leave it running (so it wouldn't get stuck in our driveway again). The owner himself came out and dropped the car off. He told my wife he found a hot wire lying around in the engine compartment, but he didn't know where it went so he just laid it to the side. My wife not knowing any better put my boys in the back seat and started to drive to the new mechanic. It turns out the wire went to the alternator, why it was removed no one knows. The new mechanic says' it is not necessary to remove a wire from the alternator to check the starter. But the battery died and my wife and children were stuck on the side of the road. After calming down for a few days I went to Quality to discuss the matter. I stood at the counter and waited while the owner regaled a couple with his adventures on a cruse ship and ignored me. When someone else finally came in and talked to me I told him after they left my wife and kids stranded on the side of the road and put junkyard starters into my car twice and that could very well have been the cause of the fly wheel problem I felt I was owed a bit of recompense. They simply pointed to the original receipt that said they recommend inspection of the fly wheel because that is a common problem related to starters. Did someone at Quality deface the bumper sticker? Who knows. Should they have replaced the starter with a new starter at some point? I have never been given that choice by a repair shop and this is probably why. Should they pay for the fly wheel repair? Well I certainly think so, but I"m sure most others would disagree. Did they try to do a good deed and see it blow up in their face? I thought so and told my wife so until they day she was left stranded on the side of the road. All the other reviews said they went above and beyond the call of duty. In this case they left an obviously wrong situation (a live wire loose in the engine compartment) and gave the vehicle back to its owner. And that ultimately is why I wrote this review. read more

This place has gone downhill over the years. It started 5 years ago, when i had a used tire put on. While driving 45mph down rt 120, my tire flew off across 3 lanes of traffic and hit a shopping building. I have used them for used tires but after last friday I will not again. I had to call three times to see if they had a tire. Each time i was told someone was checking and would get a call back. NOPE. Then the next morning someone had the nerve to call and tell me they did have a tire. I guess it takes 24 hrs to find a tire. Lol read more

5 stars all the way. Maybe more. I have to give John and his team a TOP rating and the highest commendation I can give. We were on our way to the Chain O' Lakes when we had an asphalt mishap with a tire on a dealer loaner vehicle. It was a big mess, we thought we might have to replace the tire but Shane saved the day for us and got the old tire cleaned up and got us back on the road. In less than an hour too. Chris (I think her name was Chris) was also fantastic. Not knowing auto businesses in the area at all we pulled them from a google search on my phone. I knew I wanted to avoid the tire chain places at all costs as they are USELESS, so we wound up here. I am so happy we did. Next time I need tires I will give John a call, this is a service oriented shop where customer service is top priority. Saved the day, maybe the whole weekend. read more

I had spent a fortune trying to get my check engine light to go off so I could go through emissions. I kept getting the small emission leak code which several people told me were very hard to find. These guys did the smoke test and couldn't find the leak so cleaned and resealed all the connectors are voila!!!!! The light went out and it passed! Plus it only cost me $100. Because of the previous reviews my husband went there today to get a used tire since the roads are so bad one of his tires was punctured. Now here the great part he first went to the dealer Chevy and they told him he had to buy a new tire that they couldn't fix it. So instead we checked around and found QTS to have the best reviews and I agree they not only fixed the tire they were friendly and knowledgable they made us feel like we've know the for years. Was informed I needed brakes,rotors and calipers on my car front and back with outrageous quote of approx. $1 800.00.Told them I have owned cars for over 40 years and never needed calipers before.Refused quote and the they said they will talk to mechanic to get better price. Came back with quote of approx. $900.00 only doing back brakes and calipers but will make sure car was safe. Charged $350.86 for calipers alone. Requested to see old calipers several times and they never would show me. Told owner I saw similar if not same calipers online for $120.00. Told me the family has been in business for 40 years, etc. and we went back to talk to mechanic about pricing.Mechanic was talking with other mechanic at time and we couldn't bother them. Never got to see my old calipers or talk with mechanic. Also had front wheel alignment allegedly done there at same time and never received diagnostic readout. Had my car serviced at Ford dealership less than 2 weeks later for recall and they diagnosed my car and alignment failed. Told them I just had it done and they told me I should go back and show them readout, that they allegedly never did service but charged me. read more

There's so much to say about this 'company' it's hard to write it all out! First off my mother was recommended by a relative thinking it was a good place we brought our truck there, needless to say its a 01' jimmy that was sitting for a while but none the less they said they could fix it ..upon paying over 4 grand without blinking an eye (because they said they could fix it) we were returned to a car that had the drivers door panel SUPER GLUED instead of replaced like we asked, the hood was never opened (as it was stuck before we brought it in to be fixed) yet they said they topped of the coolant & etc. when they said they replaced the brakes we ended up having to replace them ourselves spending more money and to top it off when everything was put back together after whatever they did things were upside down & only 1 bolt was holding the tire on the car and wasn't even properly screwed in right, not to mention we were charged for 3 rear roaders (which we know there's only 2) & then stupid enough we had another car towed there for a blew engine which we never gave them permission to touch they some how got an 'authorization' for them to do some kind of an oil change (just so they can get more money) then when confronting them of all this & getting our car out of there the owner john rudely yelled at my mother and I because he was in the wrong and then stormed off like a big baby. I recommend never going to this place unless your ready to be charged ridiculous labor fees & a shitty job. This is honestly the worst place and horrible service they shouldn't even be standing. Not to mention my aunt brought a car there and she had recently replaced the spark plugs just to get a call from them saying she needs new ones... Sketchy? I think so.
