It's long because I'm upset. Sorry: I am a very overly kind person. I'm also very poor. My father and brother are helping pay for and install a new water heater due to it leaking for over a month and ruining my home. I couldn't afford to fix it nor the flooded flooring and walls etc etc but they are stepping in. Now we find Menards sells a small water heater for -$200 than other stores! So we're locked in to this store. We can't pay someone to do the fix, heck we can't afford the fix. We unfortunately had to risk doing it ourselves. This store DOES do water heater exchanges. They take the old ones and sell you a new one. Most of the employees assumed we were doing that and told us in multiple conversations that we can bring the old broken heater there. Apparently there's a few details and loopholes where they won't accept them. If you bring the old one in first and purchase the new one you're good. If you purchase first and bring the old one after they'll now tell you to piss off because you didn't bring it earlier. Imagine dropping off your old water heater, a nice employee takes it in for you while you return the pickup truck you paid and rented from them. --and then you go walk across the giant store to check in kindly if you need to pay for the disposal and they yell at you over and over. Also they refused to speak to me other than yell at me. I couldn't even see the old heater! They refused to hear anything I said and continued yelling that they "never" take in old water heaters. But they do. Our situation wasn't perfect, but there was no reason whatsoever for treating a kind person like someone to be screamed at for several minutes. I was obviously just trying to be nice and figure out what went wrong and where but they were on some power trip. That was the first night. I literally was dismissed and told to leave the store for another day because they were done with me. ... what? I was trying to also purchase another hose I needed, PLUS I got a phone call from my dad that they somehow purchased an incorrect replacement and we needed to buy another water heater. But here I was being told to leave the store. Crazy. We had spent over a thousand dollars, we were telling the employees that we needed to buy much more, and still being treated like scum over a tiny scrap fee or whatever they might have at hand. And I was TRYING to get it back and fix things and they wouldn't even allow it. It was unbelievably uncomfortable. After the first night my dad still wanted to use the same store. We went back the following day and there were more rude employees who found us at checkout and started telling us off as if we had done something horrific. We were pretty sure they were holding our old water heater hostage still but they finally brought it out to us and then refused to do our exchange or purchases until they stood there yelling at us that now we have to take the water heater back... Anytime I spoke they talked over me saying things like "no listen to me! I'm telling you what happened and what you did to us!". It was aggressive, accusatory, and unkind. I was absolute fuming. I am a very soft spoken person, and I do NOT like being obviously taken advantage of for my personality. We were fine taking the water heater, but they even kept yelling at us "you better take that with you!!" even as I paused walking out the door to straighten my pants! And we were already walking away with both the exchange heater and the broken one! They were insufferable. If I had been alone or used all my own money I would return everything. Everything. I have to purchase a lot more stuff to fix the walls and floors and a few more plumbing issues now that my dad and brother are helping me on this. But YOU'LL NEVER SEE ME IN THIS STORE AGAIN! I had no idea how negatively these interactions would impact me but I just feel so upset and uncomfortable. I don't want to talk to anyone for a long while. I just felt judged and disliked no matter how much I wanted to work with them and show I cared and it was an accident.

There was a competitor supply store right around the corner from my house, but they were quoting twice the cost of the switch ($14.25 at central supply). So I drove 30 min to the east side (I live on the west side of Indy) because they had been friendly on the phone and it was half price compared to the other store near me. Once I arrived, I quickly found the parts counter and was somewhat unprepared to order as I was unsure what I needed. I had snapped several photos of my pressure switch/tank to help me. That's when one of the regular plumbers (who was ordering parts also) looked at my pics and totally helped me order all that I needed to do the job. While we waited for our orders to get picked from the warehouse, I continued to learn more about pressure switches from the nice plumber who had ordered my parts for me. The staff and patrons were friendly, and very helpful. I was able to also purchase the wires I needed as well as a new pressure gauge because they have both plumbing and electrical supplies. Total bill : $27.38. Competition : $32.50 for just the pressure switch. I will definitely come back for my next plumbing/electrical needs. Thanks, everyone, for your help - it was a success made easy because of you.

Items are organized but nevertheless it took a bit of time to locate what we needed. Asset Recycling houses over 30,000 square feet of new and ready-to-use resources. My son has been here often so he's becoming familiar with certain areas and found what he wanted. I, on the other hand, was overwhelmed. Asset Recycling is a division of Youth Fair Chance, Inc., and in operation since April of 2003. They are a non-proft organization who works to divert usable building materials from landfills while offering donors all allowable tax incentives for their contributions. The charity's focus is to provide today's youth with a fair chance for a safer and more environmentally friendly future by eliminating usable building materials from landfills.  It provides neighborhoods and individuals, especially the ill, needy, and youth, new and affordable building materials for home projects. While the Asset Recycling warehouse primarily contains windows, doors, paint, plumbing supplies, flooring, and lighting, you can also count on finding interesting deals, arts and crafts items, holiday and party supplies, home decorating items, fabrics, and more. Asset Recycling is open to the public with a focus on serving those most in need of assistance with safe and affordable housing.  Inventory changes often, so frequent visits are encouraged.
