Stay away.... The pictures lie and the staff are devoted to the permanent residents. The campground was awful.

Day Spa Patrons - 3 ladies We came just for massages and wraps and were rather rushed through signing in process then whisked down to a relaxation room. While finishing up the paperwork our therapist came to get us. No time to relax. No tour of the facilities, nor shown the changing room which also contained robes which we discovered way later. It was a cooler April morning and my spa room I was put in was cold. My therapist hands were cold as well. I asked right away if she could adjust the a/c and she said no. She did go get me another blanket. The message was very good but my feet were cold the whole time. I put my swim suit on and headed to the hot tub thinking this will be great. Hot tub was not even heated yet for the day - put was on. When I asked about it they said to go to the front desk. The lady scurried to turn it on. Also the Bathrooms needed toilet paper. There were No towels by the pool. No cushions on pool lounge chairs as shown in pictures. You would think when you first open up in the morning you would have everything ready and put out. A quick tour or instructions would be nice too. For the prices we paid the attention to detail so lacked. I asked where the showers where and was told none and that only certain services included a shower. So if you want to go to a really cool place and pay 5 star prices and the little details don't care to you, then this is your place. I'm so disappointed since I wanted to take a friend there when she came to visit. My take away is that their bread and butter are the overnight guests who sign up for the detox program. It's too bad since they could have a good amount of clientele who are just looking for a nice spa.

These were included and helped to busy up the day Detox program 1/5 The detox program they do is just not for me - it included a morning proprietary detox drink with vegan protein, tea, oil blended together. It was terrible and very difficult to get down. Lunch was a liquid as well and similar except with more green stuff in it - also tasted terrible and dinner was thankfully a delicious soup. The soup was a major highlight. I will absolutely be making some on my own at home as fall approaches. The reason I rate this so low is that for the cost of this retreat there should be an option for participants to have additional whole, organic raw fruits and vegetables as small meals instead of or alongside these drinks. Complete deprecation does not work for me and it's disappointing there isn't another option available to participants. The only way I enjoyed my time was by supplementing my eating with fruit and veg I brought in from a local grocery store. I shouldn't have to supplement a reatreat experience to enjoy it. Logistics 1/5 There was just an overall lack of logistical organization during the 5 days. As someone who has worked to do logistics for events I know this either makes or breaks an experience and in this case it broke it in a lot of ways. Everyone had to get their daily schedules from the front after our class and most days, despite this being told to us as what to do at check in, the front seemed surprised we all showed up (unprepared). Schedules were hand-written and on scrap paper and for me, despite email correspondence about my schedule pre arrival, incorrect. As a result I missed one of my services (they did provide a refund) but this was a huge gap in expectations v reality. The program also advertised buying additional oils to use in your daily drinks (cbd) but this wasn't in stock so again, a huge missed opportunity. COVID related - apparently in Montgomery county where the retreat is located masks are not required. There weren't a lot of people and a lot of opportunities to maintain 6 feet distance except in spa services (no one wore a mask). This was a bit alarming overall. I would have felt better if I'd have seen some kind of screening being done for everyone at check-in (temp checks at least) to give some sense of covid caution, but there was none of this. There was hand sanitizer in one shared common space but again, it just seems like more could have been done to give people a bit more piece of mind (temp checks since masks were not being worn). Overall, I got what I wanted and needed from the experience but only because I supplemented it with what I needed. Therefore I give it a 2.5/5. It was a great space to recharge and reconnect but manage your expectations around it being a "spa resort". If you've been to 4 or 5 star facilities where the service is impeccable this will fall short.

There's fun and food alongside adventure and excitement. It's a waterpark, Spa and Gym. There is golfing, boating and fishing, dancing with live music, games galore and so much more. It's a great escape. The management and staff treated us with the dignity and respect of a King and his Queen with professionalism and hospitality. They were friendly, polite and welcoming. All the amenities were top-notch. From start to finish, they made us feel at home. Everything went smoothly from check-in to check-out. An Excellent value for what you are getting. We ate at every restaurant bar or grill they had and the food was delicious. We drank from every spigot from which alcohol flowed and it was all good and strong. From the moment we arrived the energy was electric and pulsated an invisible, fluid-like force in all the many spaces, nooks and crannies. It was like stepping into a magical movie set or perhaps entering into a vivid Ayahuasca or Peyote induced dream. As our buzz reached its climax, we were rocked onto an electric avenue that took us even higher. It was never-ending and finally we were thrust into a state that blended ecstasy with euphoria. We were being healed and relaxed. It was like a day at the spa or having a poolside experience. Everything was clean, peaceful and pleasant. There is a nice balance of modern style, luxury and comfort. It felt like home. It was Warm and colorful with sprinkles of sparkle mixed with fun and adventure. A warm welcoming energy kept hugging us peacefully. Exploring all the spaces was like reading interesting stories. Every part of the Resort had a unique and fun feel. It is a genuine getaway with every spot being a great place for pictures. The Resort's chill vibe is amazing, perfect for slowing down and relaxing in a perfect ambiance. Whether you are a country boy or a corporate CEO, if you have never visited Margaritaville Resort on Lake Conroe, I'd suggest you call and plan your vacation or getaway today and I pinky swear under solemn oath you'll be glad you did. They make a living off of loving you and its all designed for enjoyment, comfort and entertainment. Our overall experience was excellent and exceeded our expectations and we will happily return. There's a really nice balance between simple and fancy. One of the best Resort experiences we've ever had. So! come and feel the love tonight because every little touch feels carefully picked and planned just for you.

We're already paying a $50 resort fee every night. 4) the wait is very long at the pool bar because they don't have pre-mixed margaritas. They're mixing it all by hand and it took very long time to get a drink every time we needed one. 5) food and drinks at the license to chill bar is extremely expensive 6) understaffed! The Landshark bar and Grill was very empty, but we still had to wait 20 minutes because there weren't enough servers on a Thursday evening of Conroe school district spring break. They should've planned better. 7) not all of the pools are heated - only two out of the 5R and it was very cold 8) the staff are using the elevators to go up only one floor instead of using the stairs, even though they have nothing in their hands. This causes a lot of traffic in the elevator area and we have to stop so often on the way up or down. 9) rooms were too expensive for an off-season 10) half of the arcade machines are not working especially the ones that are two player only one side is working so I could not play with my son a majority of the games. 11) music by all the pools was too loud. Also we don't need a DJ at 3pm in the afternoon in the adult section 12) room service never showed up for the full day we stayed

There is no food available and it takes about ten minutes to really get to anything good, but it's not that far to find something tasty. It reminded me of the instagram-famous 'big-window getaway house' which we have done before, but there's so much more to do here which I loved. The property has 1 big house that is also available to rent, along with a dozen or so container tiny homes. There are 2 ponds (fishable!) , a little goat pen, and in the middle of the property is a container pool/tiki hut with a grill (so cool!) and a big community hang-out area with more big grills, games, and TVs. Inside of our tiny home was a bag of treats for the pygmy goats, a basket full of snacks and even a little smores kit! Each tiny home comes with a grill, firepit, picnic table, and half of them have a rooftop patio. Enjoying a complimentary k-cup coffee on the rooftop patio first thing in the morning was so relaxing. There's even a hot plate to cook some breakfast without getting the grill started. You are close enough to your neighbors to say Hi if you want, but there are also little fences in between each home. My boyfriend and I had a great time socializing with the other guests at the pool and grilled together later that night. We all said this place feels like an adult summer camp. The trip is about 3 hours from Austin and 1.5 hours from Houston. One day we drove right down the street to Lake Conroe and rented a kyak for a few hours. We visited the goat pen and hand fed them. The property is super dog friendly, our dog had the best time too! We met the manager, Lance and he was so helpful and friendly. He told us that they just opened June 2021 so we gotta get this place on the map!! They deserve it. Our stay was amazing and we would definitely return.

Once we arrived at the cabin, and got settled in cabin 100 and we noticed that the TV didn't work in the living room. The internet was so slow we couldn't use our iPads. There were no extra trash bags only the one in the trash can. The refrigerator light and icemaker was broken. Hours later we noticed the freezer was not working so our food defrosted. The beds were horrible.... the queen and king size mattresses for sunken the middle. Felt like we were sleeping on the floor and there was loud buzzing sound all night. There were only 3 face towels and 3 drying towels for 5 people for two days. We called for service and the property manager came over. She could not fix the fridge or the TV. She said she would call maintenance man but he never showed up. We never got more towels, but she did drop off trash bags by the front door. We text and called about the maintenance man, but the property management would not respond. Even after we left on Sunday we never got a respond from anyone. We did not get what we paid for and management was not professional. I will share this experience with everyone I know. Do not stay at Belas , Willis, Texas

The property itself needs to be given much needed cleaning. There was trash all over the property, half painted decks, boards popping up on the deck with the potential of tripping over and just an overall feeling of yuck. Because the property is actually not on the larger body of Lake Conroe, it was more of a pond with very shallow water. Because of that at times there was a rotting smell from the water. The cabins are VERY close together, so close, you can actually touch the cabins next door. This also results in hearing people stomp to their cabins, at 1am, to the "lake" side of their cabin. Being the middle of March, we expected the pool to be cold, but hopefully the hot tub would be enjoyable - the hot tub did not work - it was colder than the pool. There was a nice cabana type sitting area with a fire pit, but it appeared to be damaged with a bag of rocks on top of it. The lights that were around the cabana were half hanging/half laying on the ground. There is a common inside area that has a pool table. There are missing balls and the pool table is significantly damaged and extremely dirty. There is a beach area which was mostly sand, half constructed cabanas, a torn down fence in a pile for a bonfire. We didn't even go out far onto the beach because it was half sand/half dirt. The bait shop was fully stocked and the employees there were very helpful and friendly. Overall, we enjoyed our trip because we had an amazing time exploring the area and the family time we had together. Again, the cabin meet all our basic needs. The property has the potential to be great, but it is not there at this time.

I had High hopes, however, it just wasn't the right fit for a family friendly vacation at that…read moreprice especially. What went well: - The grounds are well-kept. Service is friendly and pool restaurant good. The country club is in walking distance if you want golf or tennis. There are several pools. For families, the pool is THE activity and truly, the only activity. The woodlands lake is a 5 min drive so the trolly and pedal boats entertained us! It was fun. The breakfast was delicious. What was a disappointment: - total of 1 lifeguard for the entire pool area, which included three pools and a lazy river with a wave area. There is "swim at your own risk" signage, but that is NOT a family friendly environment. - there is a 1x/ day arts and crafts that you have to pay extra to do. - the other staff-led activities were bingo, movie by the pool, and karaoke. The staff was not energetic, smiling, or enthusiastic with the exception of the activities manager who led the water melon eating contest. - it rained for one of the afternoons so we all went into the conference center for games. Wow was that disappointing. The staff was sitting around at a table, no music, no explanation of the table games, not interacting with the guests. When asked they said "you can play whichever game you want, it's self service." My husband and I used our phones to at least put on music, we facilitated a game of tag, and several families had to escalate to the manager to setup the karaoke and popcorn machine because the staff in the room was literally sitting around sticking to a rigid schedule and telling us they can't set anything up until a certain time. Of course the manager said that is absolutely not true. - the staff didn't know how to work the projector for karaoke so the kids just used a laptop that the staff member had sitting on her lap. Minimal interaction etc. The events team staff (minus the supervisor) was really subpar. Easily made for a 2 rating for sure. If you want a true family getaway, the JW Marriott in San Antonio is far superior. Photo with my son and one of the disengaged staff members. I'll also say that, again, for this luxury price, the staff need branded sweaters not oversized personal apparel.
