Stay away.... The pictures lie and the staff are devoted to the permanent residents. The campground was awful.

Day Spa Patrons - 3 ladies We came just for massages and wraps and were rather rushed through signing in process then whisked down to a relaxation room. While finishing up the paperwork our therapist came to get us. No time to relax. No tour of the facilities, nor shown the changing room which also contained robes which we discovered way later. It was a cooler April morning and my spa room I was put in was cold. My therapist hands were cold as well. I asked right away if she could adjust the a/c and she said no. She did go get me another blanket. The message was very good but my feet were cold the whole time. I put my swim suit on and headed to the hot tub thinking this will be great. Hot tub was not even heated yet for the day - put was on. When I asked about it they said to go to the front desk. The lady scurried to turn it on. Also the Bathrooms needed toilet paper. There were No towels by the pool. No cushions on pool lounge chairs as shown in pictures. You would think when you first open up in the morning you would have everything ready and put out. A quick tour or instructions would be nice too. For the prices we paid the attention to detail so lacked. I asked where the showers where and was told none and that only certain services included a shower. So if you want to go to a really cool place and pay 5 star prices and the little details don't care to you, then this is your place. I'm so disappointed since I wanted to take a friend there when she came to visit. My take away is that their bread and butter are the overnight guests who sign up for the detox program. It's too bad since they could have a good amount of clientele who are just looking for a nice spa.

These were included and helped to busy up the day Detox program 1/5 The detox program they do is just not for me - it included a morning proprietary detox drink with vegan protein, tea, oil blended together. It was terrible and very difficult to get down. Lunch was a liquid as well and similar except with more green stuff in it - also tasted terrible and dinner was thankfully a delicious soup. The soup was a major highlight. I will absolutely be making some on my own at home as fall approaches. The reason I rate this so low is that for the cost of this retreat there should be an option for participants to have additional whole, organic raw fruits and vegetables as small meals instead of or alongside these drinks. Complete deprecation does not work for me and it's disappointing there isn't another option available to participants. The only way I enjoyed my time was by supplementing my eating with fruit and veg I brought in from a local grocery store. I shouldn't have to supplement a reatreat experience to enjoy it. Logistics 1/5 There was just an overall lack of logistical organization during the 5 days. As someone who has worked to do logistics for events I know this either makes or breaks an experience and in this case it broke it in a lot of ways. Everyone had to get their daily schedules from the front after our class and most days, despite this being told to us as what to do at check in, the front seemed surprised we all showed up (unprepared). Schedules were hand-written and on scrap paper and for me, despite email correspondence about my schedule pre arrival, incorrect. As a result I missed one of my services (they did provide a refund) but this was a huge gap in expectations v reality. The program also advertised buying additional oils to use in your daily drinks (cbd) but this wasn't in stock so again, a huge missed opportunity. COVID related - apparently in Montgomery county where the retreat is located masks are not required. There weren't a lot of people and a lot of opportunities to maintain 6 feet distance except in spa services (no one wore a mask). This was a bit alarming overall. I would have felt better if I'd have seen some kind of screening being done for everyone at check-in (temp checks at least) to give some sense of covid caution, but there was none of this. There was hand sanitizer in one shared common space but again, it just seems like more could have been done to give people a bit more piece of mind (temp checks since masks were not being worn). Overall, I got what I wanted and needed from the experience but only because I supplemented it with what I needed. Therefore I give it a 2.5/5. It was a great space to recharge and reconnect but manage your expectations around it being a "spa resort". If you've been to 4 or 5 star facilities where the service is impeccable this will fall short.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about our experience here. There was sooo much food to choose from. Crepes, French toast, several different kinds of sausage, bacon. An omelet station made for you. Carving station with Ham, turkey, stuffed salmon, shrimp, salads, several charcuterie boards with meats and cheeses. Veggies, tons of desserts and a kids table with PBJ sandwiches, fries, nuggets, fresh fruit and this is ONLY the stuff I remember. The service was excellent! Our drinks were always kept full and the plates were removed promptly. I can't wait to go next year. But next time I will not eat so much!!!!

We're already paying a $50 resort fee every night. 4) the wait is very long at the pool bar because they don't have pre-mixed margaritas. They're mixing it all by hand and it took very long time to get a drink every time we needed one. 5) food and drinks at the license to chill bar is extremely expensive 6) understaffed! The Landshark bar and Grill was very empty, but we still had to wait 20 minutes because there weren't enough servers on a Thursday evening of Conroe school district spring break. They should've planned better. 7) not all of the pools are heated - only two out of the 5R and it was very cold 8) the staff are using the elevators to go up only one floor instead of using the stairs, even though they have nothing in their hands. This causes a lot of traffic in the elevator area and we have to stop so often on the way up or down. 9) rooms were too expensive for an off-season 10) half of the arcade machines are not working especially the ones that are two player only one side is working so I could not play with my son a majority of the games. 11) music by all the pools was too loud. Also we don't need a DJ at 3pm in the afternoon in the adult section 12) room service never showed up for the full day we stayed

There is no food available and it takes about ten minutes to really get to anything good, but it's not that far to find something tasty. It reminded me of the instagram-famous 'big-window getaway house' which we have done before, but there's so much more to do here which I loved. The property has 1 big house that is also available to rent, along with a dozen or so container tiny homes. There are 2 ponds (fishable!) , a little goat pen, and in the middle of the property is a container pool/tiki hut with a grill (so cool!) and a big community hang-out area with more big grills, games, and TVs. Inside of our tiny home was a bag of treats for the pygmy goats, a basket full of snacks and even a little smores kit! Each tiny home comes with a grill, firepit, picnic table, and half of them have a rooftop patio. Enjoying a complimentary k-cup coffee on the rooftop patio first thing in the morning was so relaxing. There's even a hot plate to cook some breakfast without getting the grill started. You are close enough to your neighbors to say Hi if you want, but there are also little fences in between each home. My boyfriend and I had a great time socializing with the other guests at the pool and grilled together later that night. We all said this place feels like an adult summer camp. The trip is about 3 hours from Austin and 1.5 hours from Houston. One day we drove right down the street to Lake Conroe and rented a kyak for a few hours. We visited the goat pen and hand fed them. The property is super dog friendly, our dog had the best time too! We met the manager, Lance and he was so helpful and friendly. He told us that they just opened June 2021 so we gotta get this place on the map!! They deserve it. Our stay was amazing and we would definitely return.

Once we arrived at the cabin, and got settled in cabin 100 and we noticed that the TV didn't work in the living room. The internet was so slow we couldn't use our iPads. There were no extra trash bags only the one in the trash can. The refrigerator light and icemaker was broken. Hours later we noticed the freezer was not working so our food defrosted. The beds were horrible.... the queen and king size mattresses for sunken the middle. Felt like we were sleeping on the floor and there was loud buzzing sound all night. There were only 3 face towels and 3 drying towels for 5 people for two days. We called for service and the property manager came over. She could not fix the fridge or the TV. She said she would call maintenance man but he never showed up. We never got more towels, but she did drop off trash bags by the front door. We text and called about the maintenance man, but the property management would not respond. Even after we left on Sunday we never got a respond from anyone. We did not get what we paid for and management was not professional. I will share this experience with everyone I know. Do not stay at Belas , Willis, Texas

This property had the potential to be a great weekend get-away, however, it fell short…read more The inside of the cabin was clean, well maintained and had the needed items - except for the pans that were non-stick and very damaged to the point that we did not use them. The property itself needs to be given much needed cleaning. There was trash all over the property, half painted decks, boards popping up on the deck with the potential of tripping over and just an overall feeling of yuck. Because the property is actually not on the larger body of Lake Conroe, it was more of a pond with very shallow water. Because of that at times there was a rotting smell from the water. The cabins are VERY close together, so close, you can actually touch the cabins next door. This also results in hearing people stomp to their cabins, at 1am, to the "lake" side of their cabin. Being the middle of March, we expected the pool to be cold, but hopefully the hot tub would be enjoyable - the hot tub did not work - it was colder than the pool. There was a nice cabana type sitting area with a fire pit, but it appeared to be damaged with a bag of rocks on top of it. The lights that were around the cabana were half hanging/half laying on the ground. There is a common inside area that has a pool table. There are missing balls and the pool table is significantly damaged and extremely dirty. There is a beach area which was mostly sand, half constructed cabanas, a torn down fence in a pile for a bonfire. We didn't even go out far onto the beach because it was half sand/half dirt. The bait shop was fully stocked and the employees there were very helpful and friendly. Overall, we enjoyed our trip because we had an amazing time exploring the area and the family time we had together. Again, the cabin meet all our basic needs. The property has the potential to be great, but it is not there at this time.

Comfy yes, but Convenient? No…read more The Woodlands Resort has so much potential of being a perfect staycation upon driving unto the grounds, but from check in, slowly but surely, you see the extravagant smoke and mirrors of inconvenience that envelops this place. Just checking in is a hassle. Although they advertise in their welcome paraphenanlia that carts are available to take you from the visitor lot to the hotel from 12 to 5, the carts were parked and no one around to drive them. Note- the lot in front of the hotel where you check in is not for overnight parking- you will be towed! After driving around the lot twice, I pulled up and asked the conceirge if I could drop my luggage off while I parked and walked to the hotel. He told me no problem although I was not asked to check it in and get like a ticket to validate my pickup once I parked my car. Luckily, no one else had dropped off their luggage and shifts hadn't changed to have an issue. Check in was a breeze with the typical show me your license and credit card in case of incidentals. Note- They put a $150 hold on your credit card. You're asked if you want 1 or 2 hotel keys which I should have said two because I accidently locked myself out my room night 2 as I had changed bags and picked up the key sleeve without the key in it! That also proved to be quite easy as I just proved my identity through my address and telephone nunber without an id. Although the people were quite nice here, what wasn't so nice was the 2 little bottles of water they give you and no whee to fill them. Sure, get the ice bucket and let the ice melt into water but if you frequently drink water, that will not be enough! You have a little bit of luck when you attend meetings or breakfast in the conference center across the way where they'll have water available. Other than that, those two water bottles per day are all you're going to get! Additionally,, I was extremely disappointed that I found my room the next day not attended to and without water and towels and I had been gone from the room from 9am to 3pm. I called down to front and shared the disatisfaction and in 10 minutes I was given 2 extra bottles besides the two for the day and plenty of towels for my stay (or maybe they didn't want me contacting them again). The scenery of the resort takes away some of the inconveniences of the hotel. If you had to stay here for a conference for several days, you wouldn't feel isolated or enclosed inside since you have to walk outside to get to the conference center, the gym, and breakfast. However, we did have individuals that were present for the event I was attending that had limited mobility. It would have been nice to at least accommodate those individuals. I even helped other attendees carry luggage to their car to the visitor lot because AGAIN no one was driving around carts to assist people in this regard and it was the first weekend that summer had started ,so you know it was hot!!!! Drinks at the bar are slow as molasses with one bartender. The first night I was there, the young lady behind the bar looked so overwhelmed... I didn't even want to order, but someone else was paying for my drink and insisted, so I ordered a lemon drop. I did ask if she knew how to make it and she said yes. It wasn't the worse but not the best. Others in my party stated the same. I did enjoy the gym that had just enough cardio, weight machines, and other aerebic equipment to get a good sweat. Towels and water are in the room along with disinfecting wipes. Breakfast is plentiful with lots of choices. I do love a good omelet and fresh juice bar! You can request a cup of coffee to go too! Certainly if I came here again I would be prepared to have my own water and my walking shoes ready. Pretty location but an hour drive for me using the toll. It's a toss up if I would come back if the organization that organized the conference I attended chose this location for a conference next year.

Another night, another hotel and it was a good one!…read more Here for a work trip, we were able to check in early and head to our rooms! The resort was very quiet as it was off season but very nice. Check in was fast and friendly- and on that note all the staff were exceptionally friendly! As we were leaving our Uber driver got confused and could not find the entrance so one of the staff members drove off to guide him towards us! The room was big, beautiful and very spacious as well as spotlessly clean! Loved the large balcony and large bathroom with plenty of counter space to get ready! The room was also quiet and very dark which made for a nice sleep! Beautiful grounds, well equipped gym! Great stay!
