My landlord and I have both been coming here for years, and we are both glad Kim no longer works here. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Most of these one star reviews are being pretty dramatic in my opinion. This is the cheapest place in the area, if you want something nice go pay more. Don't go to the cheapest place and then complain you didn't get what would cost you more. I like cheap. I don't need my nails to be flawless, I just want them to last at least 3 days before they start to chip. Usually they last longer than that. :) I'm a pretty picky person and I'm definitely very ticklish so I always attract attention when I'm getting my toes done. I don't feel judged here. Yes they will talk in Vietnamese to each other while you're there, probably about you, but honestly who gives a s***? Lol Helen and Amy are both really good, the quality is definitely inconsistent here depending on who does your nails. But I really like the vibe of this place, it's just very warm and welcoming. It's super casual, no frills. I haven't been in about a year because I thought this location permanently closed, and when I walked in they immediately greeted me by my name :). I've been going to Creative Nails by the West Covina mall and I would not recommend them at all, very judgy uncomfortable environment, the lady at the front is incredibly rude and never smiles. The problem arises when I tried to soak them off, it was extremely gummy and refused to come off almost like they used MMA. RUINED MY NATURAL NAILS. I have been growing out my natural nails for a long time and needed to get my gel removed before going back to work. I have come to this salon years before, in high school because they used to do $20 acrylic sets, poor quality but it was something. Anyway, I go in to get my gel (that I got done somewhere else) removed because they were nearby and last minute, and as the tech starts drill filing the gel off a little too long, I suddenly have to pull my hand away from pain, and you can see a red spot where she filed too deep or burned my nail. She keeps going, very quickly, doing the cotton and foil, then scraping the first hand immediately after filing the second hand. Keeps going quickly and starts filing my shape which I didn't want since my nails had been previously done by someone I actually liked... Finally she tells me she's done and there are chunks of gel still on my nail. I had a french tip before so the pieces left were see through but still, clearly gel, and left my nails ragged. When I said they didn't look done, she tried to upsell me to a manicure. Absolutely not. I said no, there's just still gel and I want a gel removal. She started again, more gently this time and actually took time to smooth out my nail edges, and then when she was done all she said was "you pay $5 instead of $7." Within the next two days, three of my natural nails broke all the way down to the skin because she filed them so thin. And there's still gel on one finger. I'd never come back here again. read more

I go here because it WAS affordable but I went to get a gel pedicure with nancy and my god she is so rude. I paid to get a mani and pedi both gel and I paid 56 + tip and they EXPECT tip. "are you paying the tip with card or cash" I DO NOT NEED TO TIP. I came home and put my shoes on and when i took them off they were smashed. I paid extra for gel so that this wouldn't happen. not even 24 hours later did my mani start PEELING. I drove all the way back just to get them redone and when i went this lady had came after me and was being impatient and nancy asked me if she could do her first. like UH NO, u better do my nails first. I watched as they took her and started working on her. I voiced my concern of waiting. The tech started lying and said she was already waiting. I called her on it and repeated their conversation. They started speaking in their language and said "ok fine we will work on your mom." at that point, my mom and I was already upset and left. The total wait time was 1 hr. Acrylic, pedi and lashes customer here. The acrylics done by Nancy are a joke , do not go to her !! I like Kim better but even then, her job is like 60% quality. Thank goodness I found a nail lady in Covina . As for lashes , wow Kathy did a horrible Job . She makes me never want to get lashes again ! The glue poked my eyes and she glued a few lashes to various lashes together. When I rubbed my eye accidentally , it wasn't even that rough and so many lashes came off. I thought it was one lash or fan per lash but she did like one fan and glued to 3 of my lashes. Horrible experience here . Spend more money elsewhere , it's cheap here but so is the quality. Do not come here. sure the rates are good however, I'm a breast cancer survivor and I happen to be getting my nails done there and the lady doing my nails was talking in their language to another lady. All of a sudden the lady doing my nails reaches over and grabs both my boobs and asked if they were fake. That day, I just happened to have a prosthetic boob in. I was shocked and humiliated all at the same time because this is actually considered sexual assault, I will be talking to Detective. One moment she out there eating chips while doing my lashes or goes out of the room or on a phone call. The video here is the proof of how bad the work is. The glue is very pokey like even while she was doing it i can feel her poking my lashes. Huge line of faux lashes is glued to multiple strands of my lash which is bad because it should be one to one or at least one tip of a fan of lash to one of my natural lash but no. B B Bureau is handling my case and i am getting my refund. Like most women, I've been to dozens of nail places. But ever since I discovered this place, I refuse to go anywhere else for a manicure. First of all, they have some serious customer loyalty. During the hour it takes to get a mani/pedi, you'll see at least 6 women walk through the door requesting a certain manicurist, saying they'll wait however long it takes to get "their girl". And then, it's like "Cheers" in there, where everyone knows everyone's first names, everyone's kids names, baby due dates, husbands names, kisses on cheeks, etc etc. You can tell each manicurist has a relationship with their customer. Right when I walk in, Kathy says, "Erica! It's been a month, where have you been?" She'll look at my cuticles and shake her head. (Related side note: Kathy is the best when it comes to gel application and french tip. My nails are real, and I'll only trust her to handle them. But make an appointment.) They take their time with your nails. They don't try to hurry or cut corners just to get more customers in. If they mess up, they take the polish off and start over. Walked in without an appointment. It was full house and busy. Waited about 20 mins. I requested for gel French tipped pedicure. My nail tech was Alisa. Seated on the massage chair for about 15 mins. Alisa massaged my legs for about 3 mins each. Cleaned my cuticles. Then, she moved me to a corner and sit on a regular chair. She did my pedicure there. When she was done with my gel nails, she didn't put warm towel on my feet or give leg scrub....... that was why I take 1 star off. Overall, it was an ok experience since she was rushing to finish. I was in the plaza to drop off some dry cleaning. Then I noticed that Quality Nails had a banner out saying $15.00 for mani & pedi. I thought it was a great deal! I'm 7months pregnant and I'm not able to reach my toes to paint them anymore. :P Pros: 1. Friendly staff. My prego belly was rubbed as soon as I took my seat. 2. They really worked on my hands and feet. 3. It's such a chill spot. When the staff is not working, they have a table near the drying area where they play cards. Lol. 4. The quality of the mani and pedi and waxing was worth what I paid. Cons: 1. the cleanliness is kind of "iffy" 2. They love to offer upgrades. As soon as I walked in, they offered the spa mani/pedi (+$4), callous removal (+$5), & they mentioned something about my bushy eyebrows needing some waxing ($5). Lol. The funny thing was I fell for all of the offers! Price: the advertised price was $15 but I ended up paying $29. Then I tipped the ladies after. In Socal, We all wear sandals year round long (don't lie! you know you do!), even if it means freezing our nips off cold. With that being said, there are a lot of cracked neglected feet that are waiting to get soaked, scrubbed, and purrrrtied up. We came here at the last possible minute before they "closed". I asked for a spa pedicure...and I have to say there wasn't anything so spa-ful about it. The water was cold for my feet and it didn't warm up that much either. She asked if I wanted a scrub on my feet to get all that nasty dead skin out and I agreed. She however didn't do a great job at it. It was scrubbed in one central location and she didn't go around the bottom of my heel...come on lady...If you are gonna charge an extra $5 to do a scrub...please do it right. When it came time to put a warm towel on my legs...I was very shocked. She just threw on the HOT towels on my leg and seriously could have burned some skin off. Not cool at all. I would have liked a more comfortable spa pedicure but I guess that's what I get for going in at almost closing time. My friend loves to come here for the Gel manicure. I'm only giving this place a 5 star rating because of Melissa and Amy these two ladies have done an amazing job with it comes to my waxing, medi, pedis, and facials. I also gave it a 5 star rating cause of their prices they have amazing prices you can afford and if you get lucky and get Melissa or Amy then for sure you are getting your money worths. As for products I have to admit their nail color selection really sucks so bring your own colors cause I doubt you will find one you will actually like I couldnt. As for full sets this place isn't my cup of tea but I have seen other ladies leave very happy and with cute sets. As for customer service I have gotten nothing but the best treat from these two ladies but trust me if you arent a regular there then you will for sure get the royal treatment of a new customer especially if they have never seen you before but if you have a favorite and they know it then the other ladies can be a bit snobby. I think the only thing that they need to work on is emphasizing on the cleanliness.
