I had a really great experience with Cindy at Quality Nails. This is my first experience after almost 8 years of having the same Nail tech in Houston ( this is a big deal guys!!!) I called around 11 am for an appointment at 1:30. I had previously looked online at a few places I was comparing pricing and saw they had a crazy good deal for a mani and pedi for $27, when I called she told me it was I think $35 now regardless of the website so I was a little put off by this. BUT they do have a great happy hour pricing with 20% off during certain hours I think 1-3? So it was still a better deal like $32 for both. Parking lot is a little odd and finding the place was slightly tricky because it tucked around a corner. I arrived I believe 2 minutes late but Cindy was ready and waiting for me with a smile. She offered me a beverage and told me to pick out my colors. They had LOTS of regular and gel colors available. I'm a noob when it comes to just having painted nails because I've had colored acrylic for like 12 + years now. So I messed up my manicure while still being there... eeek! Cindy is amazing and fixed it for free even though I offered to pay for the fix since it was my fault (I think when I grabbed my phone) but just FYI I already messed up my manicure at home a day later, I should of gotten gel for sure! ( not Cindy's fault though) Overall it's a great deal, I 100% suggest going....I do not suggest popping in without a reservation though because it is only 2 workers normally and they had to turn down a couple of girls for color changes who just stopped in. read more

I have never written a review on anything before, and I am not one to complain about service really. But before you mistakenly think that ANY pedicure is worth $22, PLEASE learn from me and think again. My boyfriend just returned from Ft. Hood and I wanted to treat him with a pedicure. We live on Scofield Ridge, so this place was the closest to us and I thought I would give it a whirl. What could possibly be that bad, right? WRRRRRONG. We came in, three ladies were sitting around eating. There was nobody else in the salon. It was dirty and cluttered and completely trashy. My boyfriend and I sat down, my feet were soaking in luke warm water for all of 30 seconds before one woman demanded I give her my foot. She cleaned and cut and trimmed for about 5 minutes then put this horrendous scrub all over my legs (hurt like hell), followed by a "mask" on top of my foot and THE HOTTEST TOWEL WRAP KNOWN TO GOD. I even told her it was way too hot and tried to squirm out of the towels but she said "no it's okay" and made the wraps even tighter. My toes are still red (three hours later) and they still hurt to the touch! AWESOME. -___- She massaged my feet while talking on the cell phone. The massage was absolutely awful. There was NO pressure put on my foot whatsoever. The polish job was the worst I've ever had, and I have gotten pedicures regularly for the past 8 years. I could've done better and that's saying something. The woman who did my boyfriend's toes cut his toenails crooked and actually cut his skin to the point that it was bleeding. Great first experience. NOTTTT. It was $64 for two of the worst pedicures in Austin. I will literally never go there again and I suggest you do the same. I will go to Arboretum Nails next time instead! read more

The lady barely used a pumice stone on my foot for my callus (no file) she was staring out the window and not looking at my feet when filling and shaping my nails. I got charged 7$ more for the buttery blend pedicure, but she never gave me the hot stone massage. she never did the extra moisturizer and hot towel that the buttery blend pedicure have listed. I'm not confrontational, and I get a pedicure twice a year or so after my feet are wanting to fall off from exhaustion... As I work 12 hr shifts in the ER. I didn't feel like arguing or haggling with these people, I came here to relax and left feeling frustrated. :( I'm never coming back here. Employees have terrible communication skills and seem like they really could care less if they actually have customers in the shop. My nails look like some crap I could have done at home. I'll start off with this, I tip very well, so service industry people remember me. The first two times I came here they did a great job and treated me well. Tonight was my third visit and likely my last. I've done everything to my nails before (acrylic, pink & white, dip, solar, gel ...). The salon is also dirty (very questionable sanitation, not good) & cluttered like other reviewers have mentioned. I know what I like, and it is thick acylic that lasts 3 weeks with only growth. I expect attention to detail (no missing areas of acrylic powder/polish/shiny gel top coat, especially on a matte powder, no particles under the top coat/no bubbles/no sharp edges that snag on clothing, etc.) NOT JUST BECAUSE OF HOW I TIP, but especially because they OVERCHARGED ME tonight for very mediocre/flawed work. I asked for pink and white without the white. I showed the tech a photo. I know what the photo was of. The nails were pink acrylic. I was told it had to be dip. I don't like dip because it takes forever, it's not thick enough, and the technician REALLY needs to know what they're doing (I could tell he is learning by the way he was doing it). I walked out with flawed & sharp (not filed well) nude colored dip nails, not ugly but not at all what I wanted and a regular pedicure (supposed to be $20, not $30, what they charged me) ... my pedicure polish doesn't start where my nail bed starts and there is polish on my toes that could have been cleaned up with acetone so easily. It looks like I did them at home. $70+ tip later, not a happy girl. Especially because I'm not confrontational and they started to overcharge me. Bye felicias! I don't get manicures or pedicures regularly, because I take impeccable care of my natural nails myself. However, whenever my mom is in town we like to treat ourselves and go have Mani Pedis together for something fun. We both had gel manicures done and she had a gel pedicure as well, while I just had a regular pedicure. We walked into an empty salon and they were prompt in service, but unfortunately, they took forever. We were in there for 2 hrs, and it wasn't because they were giving us a long luxurious foot massage. My gal was actually done in slightly over an hour, but I waited for my moms services to be completed for over a half hour. It hasn't even been one week since we had our nails done and both of us have our gel manicures already peeling off because they did it too close to the cuticle. I hate to write a negative review, but for the money we spent ($125 total for both before tip) I expect a much better job. I've posted pictures, so you can be the judge. Either it has come under new ownership or the entire staff has changed, however, so if you're coming back from a previously good/decent experience, *you've been warned.* I came in to an empty salon and held up a broken nail saying "I need a pedicure and to get this fixed." I'm told to pick a color and sat in a chair where I received THE worst pedicure I've ever had. When she's "finished" she says to wait a few minutes and gestures to the other lady in the shop so I assume I'm waiting on her to come fix my nail. After I wait a while I finally ask and she tells me "oh, there's no one here to do acrylic." Are you being serious right now woman? There is no one in this nail salon, reeking of acrylic-primer fumes, who does acrylic?! I had to go to another salon down the road to get ANOTHER pedicure and an acrylic touch up. Never in my life have I felt the need to get a second pedicure in one day. Pathetic doesn't quite cover the disrepair that this place has fallen into, but it comes close. read more

A friend and I went in to get manicures yesterday during a Girl's Day Out on Valentine's Day. My friend got a regular manicure with polish that included designs on her nails, and I got a manicure with shellac. While the ladies were nice, we had a lot of issues with service. 1. There were only two women there running the entire shop. When we came in, there was no one else there, but other people filtered in and out constantly. One lady who was getting set up for a pedicure ended up leaving because it was taking too long to get to her. Another lady came in for an eyebrow waxing and was taken care of almost immediately by the lady who had been doing my manicure. She told me to get up and wash my hands, and when I did she left into the private separated room to do this other lady's waxing with no explanation to me, and left me sitting there waiting until the other lady, (who was finishing my friend's nails) was available to finish mine. That meant my friend and I were done at completely different times and my friend was left waiting for me to get done. Seriously?? 2. There was, (as other Yelpers have mentioned) a pretty big language barrier. My friend wanted simple hearts painted on two of her nails and that did not happen. She got flowers with gems instead, and for the hearts they had some polish with tiny confetti hearts in it that were put on a few of her nails. She ended up not liking the quality of the flowers or how they looked on her nails. I don't know how this ended up happening, but my friend basically said they didn't quite understand she only wanted hearts and I guess it just sort of happened. Later in the day, the paper flowers that had been painted on her nails oddly started to tear and separate under the clear coat which was a bummer. 3. Both my friend's and my nail painting look *really* inconsistent. I have spaces where the nail technician missed near my cuticles and on the sides of my nails, and then places where my cuticles got painted. If I'm paying for a professional service, I expect that the person is going to at least do a better job than I would do myself. 4. I happened to notice that the cuticle cutter being used on me had already been used on someone else and hadn't been properly cleaned before being used on me. The lady quickly wiped it off before using it on me but uhmm...gross. Not cool at all. All in all, it wasn't a terrible experience. I'm mainly really happy with the shellac color that I chose but because of the above issues I'm not compelled to go over two stars. Honestly, I'd really like to go 1.5 here, but I feel one star is a bit too low. There are so many nail places that my friend and I probably won't be back - even though the pricing was fair, it needed to be a more professional job and better experience. read more

I was looking for a quiet place to get a pedi and gel mani after work for an event tomorrow (need my nails to look good through next week, hence waiting til the night before for one event and the gel mani) First of all, they got my feet started in the foot bath and then started some other girl's nails who walked in after me. I literally sat with my feet in the foot bath for at least 20 minutes before my pedi was even started. Second, three people worked on my mani/pedi from start to finish which I thought was strange. They legit passed me off to the next person mid-polish (once on my toes, again on my fingers.) Despite choosing matching colors my fingers and toes came out looking different colored due to the inconsistency. At the end my fingers and toes looked awesome. Here comes the HUGE problem. My toes had ample time to dry. They dried in the salon while my mani was being done (little over a half hour) and I wore flip flops home (about a 20 minute drive) and I looked at them in the light at home to compare the color to my fingers and they were perfect. Fast forward to when I was changing to pajamas for bed and both of my big toes have huge noticeable smudges. This has never ever happened to me before. I don't have time to fix them before my event and now have to switch my outfit to closed toed shoes and have wasted money on a pedicure. I don't have a similar color at home. I can't pinpoint one huge reason why I wouldn't recommend this place, but a bunch of little reasons all together. Either way, after spending two hours in a nail salon I expect my toes to make it longer than 20 min at home. read more

I recently moved up north and needed to find a new nail place. Many misses but finally a hit! I have been to this place 4 times thus far on Sundays only (yeah!!! open on Sunday) The atmostphere is a typical nail salon but the women are really, really friendly. They actually talk to you instead os just each other. The massage chairs are new and will put you right to sleep. I get a lip wax and a pedi only and have no complaints at all about this salon. FIrst of all, I'm not a mani/pedi person, so in all fairness, I did not know what to expect. However, I saw so many favorable reviews here, that I thought I'd give it a whirl. I had been growing my nails for a few weeks in preparation for my industry's international conference. I took my mom thinking I'd treat us both as neither of us had ever been to get our nails done before. I asked for gels (as suggested by a co-worker), was told that they were not available, so I then asked for a regular manicure. I said "regular manicure" half a dozen times. There was a HUGE language barrier, and then some guy came out of the back room, used some machine to make my nails rough, and then he cut them down really short. I realized what had happened when he got a box of fake nail tips out. I refrained from crying, but made him stop. I tried to ask the other "manicurist" to fix the damage, but it was too late. Not only were the tools she was using dirty, but her own hands were too. Additional takeaways from this horrible experience: 1) I was told it was my fault for not asking for a regular manicure; 2) I'm worried that I will get an infection; 3) I went home and spent 30 minutes trying to round the corners of the little nubbins of fingernail that I had left and am now applying a protein coat because my nails are rough, thin and weak; and 4) They charged me $12. read more

She also didn't paint them very well at all..left large spots unpainted on the sides,etc. Not much attention to detail. She Left dried acrylic powder on my fingers(didn't even know that was possible). What was funny though was that I showed her a picture of my nails previously (another time I had to fix them) and she told me the girl's nail shape the picture were completely different so it wouldn't be able to look the same..and it was literally a picture I took of my hand. read more

Being the first time I ever had service done at this business, I have to say I was overly impressed! The business struggles in my opinion with their location. Its located in the center of an extremely large shopping center and have no signage or visibility from the street. I had to drive around a bit to find them. When I arrived, there were no customers...and it was 10:30am on a Saturday, rather odd. The technician, Kim, quickly sprung into action to serve me. The pedicure was great and the price was awesome for what you got. My Solar fill was very well done and she had an amazing attention to detail. It too, was also very inexpensive. My only complaint was that there was no television and no music on. It was dead silence. Kim sang to me the whole time and while she had a lovely voice, I didn't quite know what to make of it. This Nail Salon is a tiny little Gem! They are under new management(Cindy) and now offer waxing, lash extensions, as well as manicures and pedicures. I got the shellac gel manicure from Cindy and she was so nice and did exactly what I asked for at an extremely reasonable price (30$)! The salon is very clean and quiet during the day. They take extra steps to insure sanitation. If you want a quality manicure and a VERY NICE technician then ask for Cindy! She does all the waxing and extensions as well. Ive been looking for a good nail salon around the Mopac/Parmer area, and Quality Nails is it. Its clean, well decorated, all the massage chairs are newish and work. The quality of work is great. i have natural nails and most salons will use rough emery boards and are very rough like with acrylic nails. Quality nails know how to do natural nails well. They have 2 flat screens and play contemporary music usually. I really like this place. read more

I read some negative reviews on Yelp before I went in, but I really needed some work done after 7 pm and this was the only place close and reasonably priced. I went in with low expectations from these reviews. I started with the basic pedicure which was on special for $18. Most pedicures I've found in Austin are $25/minimum. The end result looked nice. Then I had a partial fill + shellac manicure. I'm a recovering nail biter so half of my nails are acrylic. The end result was very nice, and the grand total for half fill, shellac manicure, and pedicure was $40 pre-tax. I've been paying $60 at my other place. There was a language barrier with some of the staff but ultimately it was okay. I think this is going to be my go-to place from here on out. read more
