I had the idea to come in to Newcastle Wine Shoppe & thought on a whim maybe they'd have some non-alcoholic wine. Although it was not a usual request for frequenters there, some people inside were very quick to help me and find what I was looking for. They were able to find the only non-alcoholic option somewhere in the back after looking for a while and phoning in someone who had insight on where it was. The inside was also nice as well and part of the large building that La Fornaretta is in. There's a bar area and some tables where some people were having some conversation and some light music playing. Everyone was very helpful and I appreciated my experience a lot.

We found some nice ranges from the bigger distillers and behind the counter we spotted a handful of semi-allocated bottles, like Dickel Bottled In Bond and Nikka Coffey Grain, but nothing crazy. Staff wasn't too helpful and the store was a old, tired, and a little disheveled, but that's not important when you know what you're after. The part I didn't love was the lack of COVID compliance here. I understand everyone has their views but I'd like to be part of the solution and do what I can to help. I didn't observe staff in masks or any other protocols in place. To each their own, but it did put me off quite a bit. All in all, just your neighborhood liquor store!
