My husband and I have stayed here previously and never had any issues with our stay. Our last stay this past weekend left me feeling unsafe and sadly we will not choose this location any longer. I was there with my family and we had a total of 3 rooms. My sister received a call in her room at approximately 1am during our stay from a male asking for me. The reservation was under my name so my sister replied "yes?" The male then stated that there were guests at the front desk asking for me. I had not met any guests during our stay so there was nobody who would have known my name or what room I was in other than the staff. It leaves me questioning why a male employee would be trying to get me out of my room and in the hallways at such a late hour. Any ladies who may be travelling alone, please think twice about this place. read more

We picked this location for a one night getaway from home after seeing the photos posted online. Looks can be deceiving.... at least that's what I learned from staying here. The check-in process was easy, and all the staff is very friendly. They actually greet you at the front desk, hallways, etc. They have coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and fresh baked cookies. They even offer a little breakfast station with yogurt, juice, bananas, oatmeal, cereal, eggs, and sausage(?). The marina view is nice but our room was not "waterview". The reason I am giving this place two stars is the room and experience itself. There are only a few parking spaces that are on pavement, with 4 being "members" spots. Also, the room was not the best. Our bathroom floor was sticky, the room smelled like the previous guest smoked in the room and they masked the scent with something, the window is right next to the parking lot, and there is not enough lighting. The bathtub/shower looks run down and dirty, so I was glad to be able to go home and shower. Also, I found it disgusting that the previous guest took a BM, and some of the stool flakes remained in the toilet. I was also rudely awakened by the upstairs guest walking around at 5:30am, heavy stepping around. You can hear everything - upstairs, next door, hallway, etc. The bed was uncomfortable too. For the price being close to one of the "nicer" places in the area, I was hoping for something I paid for. However, I'd book elsewhere if I came back to this area. read more

They looked better on the travel website. The place looks a little run down and the rooms were a bit dirty- mostly the walls. They are pet friendly but they only accept small dogs. If you have booked this hotel online and have anything larger than a chihuahua, you need to find another place to stay bc they will NOT let you stay there. The curtain in my room was all chewed up so maybe that's why they don't allow big dogs . In any case, if you need a pet-friendly hotel nearby, contact Extended Stay America in Lexington Park bc they will not give you a problem there. I was originally going to give this hotel 3 stars, but last minute we called the front desk and asked if we could check out at noon instead of 11am and without hesitation they said it was fine. To me, that kind of hospitality gets a full star bump! So here's the deal...this is a less than 100 a night hotel and that really needs to be where your expectations are. Here are some things that I did not detract any ratings for: the bathroom light and one light in the room didn't work, the shower didn't really drain (which explains why the bottom of the shower curtain was gross), the towel rack had been ripped off the wall then re-mounted about two inches over without patching any of the gaping holes, the entire place smells faintly of cigarettes and weed, the tub was chipped and rusted in spots, the pillows were very small and lumpy, and it can be noisy (although I'd put more blame on rude guests than the hotel...just know it can get loud if people are rolling in drunk at 2am). I detracted a star because when we arrived at our room the door was just left wide open. We assumed they were still cleaning it so we kind of crept in after knocking but no one was there. We also noticed the window was cracked open - it was like 100 degrees out so we would have been very unhappy if we hadn't have noticed this and all the AC had gone out! It took like 15 minutes just to shut the window...it was old and gross and there were bees going in and out the top portion. (So I guess if we had not shut it, we could have ended up with wasps in the room.) I'm going to guess the room stank and they were trying to air it out and forgot to come back? It was just odd and it made us uncomfortable right off the bat. Another star should be detracted for how dirty the room was. There was loose change and strands of thread or something all over the floor, a dirty cleaning rag hanging on the shower head, hair in the shower and the vanity was dirty. It really looked like all they did was come in and change linens and leave. Since this is a dog friendly hotel I would think vacuuming would be a must between guests... The pluses: they allow dogs and the pet fee is very reasonable, the AC worked great, there's easy parking, there's a small pool (and although we didn't go, it looked clean), the staff are very friendly and accommodating, I didn't notice any bugs anywhere (this is a common complaint about cheaper hotels), there's a microwave and fridge in the room (although the fridge had standing water in the bottom of it), and the location is super convenient. The take away - this is a good hotel if you're either a) on a budget or b) traveling for a just night or two with your dog. If I didn't have my dog, I would definitely stay elsewhere next time (and definitely have to pay more)...but again, I think this is a decent hotel for its price range (maybe just pack some cleaning wipes!) read more

Here's another one of these places that need negative stars. So I travel extensively by myself with just my service dog. I am disabled. So I show up last night to a reservation that I've had for months. The lady working the desk checks me into a second-story room no problem. she sends me to the end of a very long hallway with all my luggage packed on top of a cart and I'm trying to juggle that and my dog to get to the nonexistent elevator at the end of the hallway. I came back to the front desk to ask her where the elevator is (spoiler alert there isn't one) and she was on the phone with her manager. Her manager was telling her that they don't allow pets on the second story and they needed to put me and I first floor room. No problem. She then told me that her manager asked for my paperwork for my Service Dogs. I politely explained to her that there was no such thing that it is not an emotional support dog is actually a service dog. I then handed her a copy of the law. She was very kind and offered to help me to my room. I went straight to sleep as I had been driving for 12 hours. Then next am I went to take my dog out and when I returned another woman yelled at me that I needed to sign a pet form. I explained to her that I don't have a pet and she screamed back at me. Yes you do. It's right there. I explained to her It was a service dog and I was not going to sign anything regarding a pet. My room was located literally 4 feet from her desk. As soon as I got in the room, she called and says "there has been many complaints about you since you got here we will not be letting you stay here. You need to leave by 11 o'clock and we won't be giving you a refund." I told her good luck with that. I was happy to leave, but I would be leaving with a refund. Long story short, I got my refund and got a bonus gift card for my troubles from Hotels.com. You don't want to stay there not only because of this, but how nasty it was. Ok, we came here to escape Hurricaine Florence and to complete a job at the mall near by. Whats EXTRA NICE is it's pet friendly! A bit pricey 35.00 per pet per night. Show proof of rabies tag and flea control and your dog can stay with you. Our room had Small frig & microwave. This hotel is on the water. You have to walk stairs. Theres no elevator. The bathroom is very small and needs a good scrubbing. Otherwise the room is clean and substantial. read more

This hotel was advertised as PET FRIENDLY on many third party booking sites. However, when I showed up for my reservation with my dog, I was turned away by the front desk receptionist as well as the GM as they mentioned they are actually NOT pet friendly. They confirmed they are AWARE that third party sites advertise them as so, but they do not accept any sort of pets. I was obviously visiting from out of town and had zero options to find care for my dog, and was turned away by the incredibly rude hotel staff. They did not accommodate me and my dog whatsoever and exhibited the worst customer service I have ever seen at a hotel establishment. I was not able to CANCEL my reservation due to the fact that it was after check-in time, and hotel staff did not seem to care. This Quality Inn REEKS OF CIGARETTES throughout the entire building and is outdated and filthy, yet they will not accommodate a pet. I could not recommend a hotel LESS. read more

Checked in at 8 pm. Front desk attendance polite and efficient. Great location--next to the marina. Plenty of sightseeing for this area. The room has all the necessities for a 2 night stay: King bed, dresser, desk, small refrigerator, microwave, safety lockbox, AC, flat screen color TV. Apparently free Wi-Fi but we weren't given the password. Negative: dirty. Sheets are clean. Furniture dirty. Carpet not vacuumed. Bathroom floor has hair, dirt and basically grubby for a hotel room. I did call front desk and mentioned and she said "sorry, I'll let Housekeeping know". Meh. This could be a great return location but we won't stay here again without improvement. read more

I will never stay here again. This place did not tell me that there was a computer glitch and there were three reservations under my name instead of one. They checked me in without saying anything ran my card through for the room charge, and gave me no notice of the issue, then ran all the additional charges. I know for a fact they had vacancies even though it was Memorial Day weekend, so it's not as though my reservations had cost them money. I ended up paying $600 for one night's stay. Our room was dirty, the bathtub was stained, chipped, and discolored, and there was a hole in the bathroom wall. When I received the additional charges to my card after checking out, I immediately called the hotel and never heard back from the manager. read more

Stay anywhere else you can , this place is disgusting! We were here for work, the rate they gave changed depending on who you were it seemed! No discount for plant workers! Spoke with guest who came in after we did and paid 20$ less a nite with no Excelon discount ! First room was infested with ants , next room was much better! The rooms were filthy, no Covid cleaning measures taken , towels , linens and pillows were stained and so yellow! Mattress had rips all over it, no topping left at all! Old mattresses piled up outside, doors being left open at nite, shady activity happening here! This is privately owned and Choice Hotels have been informed and hopefully will take appropriate actions and clean this place up ! We will be filing a complaint with the Maryland health department as well as the BBB , in hopes that no one else has to endure what we endured here ! Decided to stay at Quality Inn since it is part of Choice Hotels and it was a great deal. The hotel is located in front of the Beacon Marina. There is a restaurant located steps away from the hotel, and it is walking distance to many attractions. Some of the rooms are water view or most face the marina. They do allow dogs, which is great if your traveling and looking for a place that is affordable. While walking into the hotel to check-in there was this smell of musty cigarettes in the lobby and hall. The manager Heather at the hotel is great, and she went above and beyond with any questions we had. While going into the room the A/C was not turned on and it smelled like burgers. There is a good sized refrigerator in the room. The tub didn't drain well, and the shower was decent. While in the room there was this black rectangle on the bed dresser. I picked it up and shook it (not knowing what it was) and it said "do not touch", and found out is was a mouse bait station. The breakfast was a disappointment. It should be called "grab-n-go" breakfast. There is a waffle maker, but it didn't really cook the waffle. It was gooey in the middle. There are three cereal options here. The knob was difficult to operate. You had to turn it several times, and in the process to not make a mess on the counter. They also had yogurt, oatmeal, and a danish. Overall the hotel is located in a great spot, but if the hotel did more renovations it would be a better stay. read more

This is a poor excuse for a vacation rental. There was not a hot breakfast. The room was musty with a horrible smell coming from the bathroom. The ac unit needed deep cleaning. The dust was caked inside the unit. About a foot of the box spring was stained with a rust/black color. It was very disgusting Our first night there the police were there for an incident (unknown) and seemed to patrol the area frequently. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The carpets were not vacuumed well from the previous visitors. The carpet also felt damp to walk on.. We only stayed 2 out of our 3 nights that were booked because the place was so disgusting. read more

Ok so I guess you get what you pay for but honestly for the price I could over look every issue except the BED. First issue that we weren't made aware of at check in was there's no elevators & our room type was only available on the second floor. The bathroom could stand several things spruced up (shower needs resurfaced, caulking needs redone, etc). The room was chintzy with towels. The bed spread sucked. But like I mentioned first the biggest issue was the bed itself the mattress, like sleeping on a slab of concrete. I would not stay again. read more

We stayed here as we were given a price for a block of rooms. Would not stay here again. The staff are very friendly, but the hotel is not well cared for. There were holes in the walls in the bathroom, strange spots on the ceiling and walls in the room. When we were going to bed it suddenly sounded like there were problems with the elevator, except we were on the opposite side of the building and we heard water dripping too. The bed was clean and there were no smells. I loved the location but not worth it problems. We had slugs in our bathroom, and all they could do was come move them out. Then they sprayed with disinfectant on the wall where the slugs were and told me to rinse it down after a few minutes with hot water. read more

Not sure why this hotel has such a low rating. It was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. We were delayed a whole night because the Bay Bridge was closed. The manager, Christine, was helpful and accommodating. She switched our reservation to the next night and kept my rate with no additional fees. And the woman at the front desk was friendly and courteous. This location is great and has a nice view! read more

There is a water-side restaurant next door that is a great place to have dinner (and for less than all the places downtown). The hotel has a little pool and a decent free breakfast. Stayed here one night before a fishing trip. From the outside it looks a bit worn and dated. The lobby is functional, not fancy. But our room was fine and very affordable. It was clean and comfortable, everything was in working order so I have no complaints. In the morning there were muffins, breakfast sandwiches, juices and fruit. Nothing was hot but it was ready to be popped in the microwave. I wasn't expecting any breakfast so it was handy, we heated up some sandwiches and it saved us time. The location is at a marina which is nice if you want to take a little walk and check out the boats at the docks. The Calvert Marine Museum is also within walking distance, I recommend it. read more

I was there last weekend (8/17-8/18/2019) with my daughter and three grandsons. The only good thing I can say about the room was the bed was comfortable. The room was old and outdated, the bathroom had a used bar of soap in the tub and the floor was dirty. The tub floor, although it looked clean, was worn out. Sink didn't work properly. The phone in the room didn't work. We were only there for one night so we managed. I really feel the hotel needs a lot of work to update it. read more

Inexpensive, clean, quiet, good WiFi - very good place for a one night business trip to Solomons MD.

This place is better than tent camping. The old plumbing still somewhat functions. Nice personnel. Clean service done well. Bargain basement towels compliment the old furniture which are little better than a motel 6. Complimentary breakfast is better than a continental one. Location is good, but watch that left turn and sharp right. Liked having the boats next to hotel. Recommend for road warriors, cheapskates like me and military. read more
