No ce clean room with comfy beds
    Stephanie C.

We've stopped here for years on our way to the airport from visiting family. It used to be a super 8. The staff is super friendly, the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable.

Worst hotel experience I've ever had. We arrived last Monday around 3 pm and I waited inside for 30 minutes to check in until I finally got ahold of someone to come to the front desk. Was told my service dog was not allowed only for $25 a night which in itself is illegal!! The key cards to our room didn't work. They only have 2 staff members and the owner who work there so the front desk is unoccupied from 1am-8 am with a note saying a number to call. The poor employees working the front desk are also expected to clean rooms. Which they were still doing at 8 pm every night. After my boyfriend had already paid for my diabetic alert dog the owner tried to stop me in the hall and get me to pay again! Complete scammer. We had employees walk in our room numerous times! My boyfriend was stopped by the owner again and yelled at saying we had too many people staying with us when it was only us 2. Then I paid to stay an extra night and the owner knocked on my door at 3 pm yelling at me that I need to check out and that I didn't pay what I was supposed to for a night. What a nightmare! Will not stay here ever again and I advise others to stay anywhere else! Even when we went to check out he tried to get me to pay more money because he didn't agree with the price an employee gave us. Never again!

Ctack in hot tub....hot tub is broken I was told.

When we arrived at the hotel the lobby was filthy. I asked the gentleman that rudely greeted us if we could see the room before check in. We walked down a very dirty, carpet stained hallway to our room. When we opened the door the room was very smelly and hot. There were dead bugs all over the room on the floor. Our room surprisingly had a hot tub in it but it had a crack in it from one side to the other. Foyer area and hallway had dead bugs everywhere. I told the man behind the desk that there were dead bugs and I would not stay there. I told him I booked thru a 3rd party and would he ok a cancelation and refund if they called. "Dan" said yes. I did call the 3rd party to which Dan denied the bugs and said he upgraded me to a hot tub room and it didn't work. I asked Dan who the manager was and he said he was. When I asked why he denied my cancelation he said he would call the police and I was not trespassing. This hotel is disgusting and the manager Dan...who is not really the manager is very rude and unprofessional!

Red Arrow Cabins - Kitchen up to loft

These were a great find! So close to Lake Michigan at Warren Dunes State Park, and other beaches…read morenearby. There are 5 cabins sitting in a cauldesac, great for a family reunion, or group getaway. Each has a kitchenette (fridge, microwave, coffee pot, sink. The Acorn cabin had a 3/4 size fridge but the smaller cabins like Driftwood had a mini fridge. The cabins seemed to be maybe on the newer side, very well craftsmanship of the cabin itself- true log cabin! Even the upstairs wasn't squeaky and felt very sturdy! Each front porch was adorable and good to gather at night and each had a fire pit outside. Note: the Driftwood and The Hideout really are only meant for two adults and 2 kids. The "loft" is climbing a folding up ladder (very sturdy and solid, but somewhat like climbing into an attic) where you crawl into a loft that has space only for 2 mattresses on the floor. Kids would enjoy it (but maybe be scared to coming down), but very small if another adult wanted to use it. Also note the bathroom is in the bedroom for these 2 cabins. A few improvements could have been made to the interiors. All the furniture and decor seemed to be very old. While still functional, they just looked, smelled, and felt like they'd been used for a very very long time. A bit unusual since it did seem like the cabins were newer! The other thing to know is these are not back of the woods. You are right of the main Street and can hear cars go by. If you want seclusion and peace these may not be for you. If you want a place to grab your friends and get together for a weekend then it's perfect!

They are close but you have some room. There is a toaster and a microwave and mini fridge. I forgot to ask and there was no self service to buy wood but there are fire pits. Firefly seems to have the best set up fire pit location. On air bnb it said Firefly but there is an identical cabin next door that is called Pine and we stayed there. Coffee pot and filters, hand& dish soap, trash bags, TP and plenty of towels.I had my own Scott towels and coffee. There is some road noise at night not bad,in the morning (a Friday) it was super busy at 6 am. Overall I would stay here again last minute like we did. Nice if you are visiting the dunes sightseeing and beats a crappy hotel by alot!

I like that there was plenty of parking in the parking lot and the area was well lit and clean After we checked in the hotel front desk we took the elevator, which was kind of scary cause it kept on bumping up and down when we were going to our room. It was nice to see a water fountain by the public bathroom that you can fill your water bottle quickly. There are many store had a nice variety of snacks to purchase. When we went to our room on the third floor room 305 when we entered the bathroom there was a black bucket with plastic bag half of it was full of water. We weren't sure if it was left behind or something dripping from the ceiling, we also saw a towel on the floor as well. Told the staff about the bucket which I believe was our garbage can they said they would replace it so I left it in the front door, but it was never replaced that evening nor in the morning when I went downstairs to get breakfast. They will need to fix the tub drain because the water wasn't draining too slow that our feet were submerged in the water. The shampoo bottle pump was totally empty with no shampoo that even a drop so I had to use the showering gel to wash my hair because I did not expect to bring my own shampoo with me when I travel. The room layout was nice. The air condition did keep the room cool the place was clean. The king size bed was nice and comfy that I didn't have to toss or turn. Was a bit disappointed that there was no outlet on the left side of the bed closest to the bathroom when I needed to charge my accessories near me, I would have to use an extension cord. I enjoy working out in the hotel gyms, and I was a bit disappointed that the treadmill was out of order And I didn't see any disposable earbuds stating that it was free for us to use available in the room. And there was no TV remote to watch in the gym. They did have fresh white hand towels to use. I looked at the pool side, which was nice but didn't have time for a swim . The continental breakfast was fine. They were pretty good in stocking up the food as people were getting their breakfast so no issue there. Interesting that they had a yogurt machine so that you can get a bowl of it and put different toppings in it. Overall it was an ok experience. The staff was friendly. I just didn't like the little things that I shouldn't have to complain about when staying in a hotel that I paid over $200 for plus being asked to add $100 on our card for any incidentals and then if there isn't any, they would credit back your hundred dollars. It's been a while since we checked in a hotel that asked us for a deposit if that is standard now.

The place shows its age, funky smell upon entry, my visit had an overly long wait to check in. Clunky elevator. Room was standard, although aged and remodeled, it was very clean. We were pleasantly surprised at how modern the room was. Everything felt brand new and was decorated so wonderfully. The couple that owns the Inn are very kind and helpful. After check-in, we didn't even see them unless we went downstairs specifically to talk to them. What I loved was that each room has it's own private entrance and balcony. The coffee/wet bar was great. When we checked in, we found a bottle of wine, brie and crackers in our room. Every morning we had wonderful scones waiting by our door. They provide both regular and decaf coffee, espresso and an assortment of teas. I loved going in their backyard and watching the koi. They have a jar of food you can toss in. Watch out though. That pond is a breeding ground for swarms of maneating mosquitos!!! We're thinking of going back each year on our anniversary we enjoyed our stay so much!

Also, the locks from the dining room to the outside don't work/lock. We stayed here with grandparents, parents and seven kids. I repeatedly requested proof via email and phone calls. No response! The only time they responded they threatened me with a lawyer.
