Employees were really nice and courteous. Breakfast was really nice. Fresh eggs, sausage, yogurt - basically all the things this company offers. However, the value for the price was what got this rating. Close to $300 a night, but the accommodations were not even close. Our room had maintenance issues, but we just decided it wasn't worth saying anything until the next day. Workout room had a great selection of free weights but it only had a treadmill and an elliptical machine. The remote was missing so the other lady and I were subjected to VH-1 hot mess channel. The hotel was okay, but not for $300.

Landmark Inn - Room with king sized bed

I stayed at The Landmark Inn in Marquette for two nights in a king room. The hotel itself has a…read morehistorical look and is located close to the center of downtown, which is small but charming. The check in process was easy and parking while minimal was adequate during my stay. They offer complimentary coffee and water when you walk in which was a nice touch. The elevator is very old and extremely slow and I found myself thinking stairs might be faster. As for the room I had heard ahead of time not to stay on the sixth floor due to reported haunting activity so I was on the fifth. Each room is supposed to have a theme but mine felt rather dull and uninspired. Unfortunately the room was dusty and I found hair in the sink from a prior guest which was off putting. The bed was comfortable and the temperature was cold when I arrived at 62 degrees which I actually liked. The view was nice but the room was very loud in the evenings. I suspect I was right below the sixth floor bar because I could hear chairs dragging and plenty of noise until about eleven or twelve at night. On the positive side the staff was kind and nobody was rude. I also tried their restaurant pub twice and it was excellent. The fish and chips cheese curds and chicken strips were all delicious and I highly recommend eating there even if you are not staying at the hotel. Overall while I appreciated the history the location and the food I would not stay here again. My three star review is more about the cleanliness issues and the constant noise from above. For two nights in a king room the total was eight hundred twenty five dollars and for that price I expected a cleaner room better upkeep and more amenities.

Showers and bathtubs have developed obvious mildew over time and it's getting worse not better. Management needs to address issue with a grout brush and some bleach.

Our room preference (high floor/ end room) was granted - much to my husband's dismay... as he was carrying the tour back to the furthest possible point from check- eek. (We did move the bike to the other end for check-out & he was in a much better mood after that shorter trek.) The rooms were noted as renovated a few years ago. Had I not known going in, I'd have guessed 80s (as the hubby did when I asked him to date the last update). The ceiling is concrete & painted mauve, making for (much appreciated) serious noise reduction & perhaps a bit of a hospital or prison feel, if you will. The walls are a light gray, as is the furniture. The artwork (3 pictures) was oddly small (8x10) & hung oddly. They furnishings were, perhaps, excessive. To open up the space & reduce the crammed in strangely look, I'd suggest removing a couple of things. There was a wall shelf/ TV holder. Under that was a desk, literally pushed under, as was dresser. It looked as if the furniture was pushed back for cleaning, stacking it up. There was also a wardrobe, chair & table that slides over the chair (think tv tray). The room was exceprionally clean & in excellent condition. It was 3/4 bath with a large shower - no tub. The bed was comfortable & temperature control worked well. The pool & sauna are not to be missed! The location is great for accessing assorted things to do. All in all a very good stay. We simply have a different taste than the decorator did, apparently. We are platinum with IHG & booked directly, without using points.

The only reason I gave this a 4-star is because of one of the front desk staff. She was too nice to where it felt like her interactions were fake. She also was not accommodating when we asked about using a space that was empty, for a meeting. We had 20 people staying there so to ask to use an empty dining room for 1/2 hour should not have been an issue. Even with that being said, I'd go back. They have a great pool, hot tub, and sauna!

Not only was it easy to find, the view of Lake Superior from our second floor room was amazing!!! It was also nice that we were on the end, and the motel was not overly busy - so it was really quite in the evening. The room itself was quite large, with a coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge/freezer, and sink. The bathroom was also large and included towels and the basic amenities. We had a king size bed, which was very comfortable! The TV was so nice (picture quality far better than my tv at home) and there were so many channels. My favorite are always the music video channels - great for background music! The patio was large and it was lovely to sit out and watch the sunset. Although it is located off a main road, the surroundings and atmosphere was very quite and peaceful. It was evident there had been recent updates/renovations, so recent there was not a rod or hangers in the closet. In fact, there were few places to lay out clothes. There was one table top, desk top, 2 night stands, and single chair in the room. We were there for 3 nights, so it wasn't too bothersome and I am sure they will finish installing these minor items soon. There is an outdoor pool, it was not in use during my stay (it was a brisk 55-65F). I booked using Hotels.com and they text you the door code prior to your arrival. I had called customer service with a question and they were extremely helpful. Overall, 5 stars! Highly recommend and would stay here again :)

Decided to give them a try again. After a delayed flight I arrived at this hotel after midnight. The parking in front was full so I drove to the back. I saw a door but I know they usually require a key so I drove back to the front to check in. The front desk lady Vanessa was very pleasant and thanked me for calling them to tell them I'd be arriving after midnight. I asked if my room was close to the doors she said yes which was great. But the it gets bad. I told her I drove around and saw it but came back to the front because those doors require a key. To mt horror and dismay she said no it's unlocked no key required. And she was correct I drove back around to unload and I walked right in. I will never stay here again since anyone without a key can access the hotel in back and the front desk will never see you. Side note, shower was great. Love hard pressure water.
