The room was supposed to be a non-smoking room. The room smelled of cigarettes. Hot breakfast was supposed to be included in the price. So basically, we way overpaid for our stay!!! The was no hot breakfast. A bowl of 6 apples, a few containers of yogurt in a refrigerator with a gallon of milk. There was a waffle maker on the counter but that was it. There was no one to ask since the desk attendants spent their time outside smoking and talking on their cell phones vs. maintaining the front desk. Considering they could see you walking in and waiting for help. The room was set to 62 degrees when we arrived. I was clammy and damp beside the cigarette odor. Absolutely awful! We got to our 1st room, no light over bathroom vanity, bathroom exhaust broken. Called front desk to see if it could be fixed and the front desk receptionist never called maintenance until I went to the front desk. She then called maintenance, and was told "so", and when asked to switch rooms, said no. The receptionist did call th owner and allowed us to switch rooms. The next room was no better with burn marks on the comforter, the refrigerator was missing a bottom leg, and wobbles off the shelf, had no shelves and the bathroom exhaust still didn't work! We had been given a 2 night, 3day vacation voucher from Club Wyndham Timeshare to try and entice us to join, but if this an example of what Wyndham offers to entice us to join, NO way! read more

`Had to sleep fully clothed so scared of bedbugs and roaches   Liked · The front desk clerk was super accommodating and did everything she could do to make things right and the location was perfect for my needs. Disliked · The initial room we booked was a smoking room. In the room we were given there was feces, or what appeared to be, on the bathroom wall, there was brown filth in the floor corners of the bathroom, the walls were dirty, the towel rack was falling off the wall and broken. The TV fell off the wall when I touched it, there were holes in the bedcovers and sheets, the door wouldn't shut all the way, the lock was halfway off, and wasn't screwed in. When we went to get our money back it was explained to us that "since we wanted a smoking room that's what we got because crackheads don't care about a clean room or safe place...". We were then given another smoking room to check out and it was horrible and the last room was a nonsmoking room which had a door that wouldn't shut all the way and a giant roach crawling the wall. There's no way it should be legal to charge $200+ a night for that type of accommodations. read more

Wife and I have stayed at Quality Inns elsewhere, so thought this couldn't be too bad.... Well, wow. We stayed last Saturday the 31st of August overnight while traveling to the Outer Banks (wife, sister, myself- all adults) Our room smelled atrocious and was dirty. One bed had a dirty bedspread while the other bed had a stained sheet. I went to the front desk, complained and we switched to the eoom next to it While getting luggage from the bed of my truck I witnessed what I believed to be a drug deal/ purchase in the parking lot right in front of me! This dump looks like a hotel you would see on Cops, or On Patrol Live. I contemplated sleeping in my truck in the parking lot. I awoke at 1:30am as I kept hearing car doors closing in the parking lot, so I go out to check my truck. People are milling about, rap music playing in cars. Back to bed...We agreed to bail very early on Sunday. The three of us get showers and lo and behold- towels/ washcloths for two only? We checked in conveying we had three people, two double beds? I complained to the man at the front desk, who "apologized" and said he can get more towels etc... Too late as my wife has to "use" someone else's unfortunately. Mr. Patel, the owner/ manager- you likely will respond to my review and will apologize about our experience BUT judging by the other poor saps who posted negative reviews too, you have not changed a thing. Show some real action and make changes. IF I CAN PREVENT ONE FAMILY FROM HAVING THE SAME EXPERIENCE- I DID MY JOB. I called the hotel on 9/10/24 and a man answered the phone by sinply saying "hello". Did not even say Quality Inn? He hung up on me when I asked if he normally just says "hello" when working at a business! Long story short- I filed a complaint with Choice Hotels and I will be receiving a refund. I STRONGLY recommend others do the same, who experience similar issues. read more

This was hands down THE worst hotel I have ever had the displeasure of staying. Literally every single amenity that was listed on the website (Choice Hotels' website, mind you) was unavailable: No breakfast, no restaurant, no bar, no pool (which we were later informed had been closed for 2 years, and had a duck presumably living in it!), a broken TV, hardly-there Internet, and no queen beds which we had initially booked. We were moved into 3 different rooms before we finally settled, but were not satisfied. We wanted a room with 2 queens as we were traveling with our children and dog. The website said the hotel was pet-friendly, but there was no way to indicate that we had a pet when we booked. When we arrived, the 2 queen room we were placed in STANK! It just had a very prominent odor that almost immediately started giving me a headache. I talked to the front desk associate about moving us to another room, also reminding them that we had a dog with us. She then informed me that NONE of their pet-friendly rooms had queen beds, so we had to be moved into a 2 double bed room. We begrudgingly agreed. Two things happened the moment we set foot into the second room... first, my husband immediately stepped on a cockroach; second, it reeked of cigarette smoke. They had placed us in a smoking room! Not a pet-friendly room. We complained again, and they moved us to yet another room, after first trying to argue that we were not in a smoking room. Correct me if I am wrong, but the presence of an ashtray and a HEAVY cigarette stench is a pretty clear indicator that we were, in fact, in a smoking room. The third room was barely passable, and filthy (hair all over the inside of the bathtub, dirt and God knows what else all over the floors, grime and mildew on the sink faucet), but it was getting late and we were getting tired of moving all our stuff over and over again. The hotel was also under heavy construction while we were there... There was debris EVERYWHERE, the entire outside facade was borderline dilapidated, and the constructions workers would be working right in front of guests' room doors. The manager tried to say it was our fault that our stay didn't meet expectations, because he insisted we booked through a "third party", but we booked our stay directly from Choice Hotels. If I'm not mistaken, I'm fairly certain that Quality Inn is owned by Choice Hotels, so I'd like to know exactly who this "third party" is he accused us of using. PS - I wanted to take more pics of the exterior and the debris that was literally everywhere, but my family and I practically RAN out of there the next morning. read more

Went through 3 rooms, last one barely tolerable but it was after midnight by then and exhausted from traveling, grabbed blankets from car and slept in our clothes on top of the bed. First 2 rooms were beyond gross, roaches, wrinkled sheets that looked like they had been slept on, used soap in shower, hair and dirt on bathroom floors. No smoke detectors in any if the 3 rooms. Last room was in different building across from office, no roaches seen, bedding appeared clean but didn't use, paint peeling, unknown (don't want to know)stains on the chairs and room stunk of pot. Took short nap and left. Manager didn't care and miraculously changed ownership 2 days later to brother who still did nothing. read more

My last stay in 2013 was for one night. This stay was for three nights. The highlight of staying here is the free breakfast in their restaurant. This is not the normal free breakfast buffet most hotels offer. With the breakfast card you get from the front desk, you are able to select a free breakfast item from 10+ options. Your order is taken by a server and brought to you on real plates and utensils - not Styrofoam & plastic. My king room was spacious. AC unit worked well, bed was very comfortable. Room included a work desk, hi def tv and microfridge. There was a problem with the free wifi signal the first night - not available. Problem was resolved by morning, but was a bit weak. (watching any type of video was difficult.) shower pressure was good, but it took a long time for the water to get hot enough for a shower. read more

So we were going to stay here for Memorial Day weekend, we just needed a place to crash and hadn't planned on being in the room for most of the day so all we really wanted was a place to sleep and take a hot shower. Well not even ten minutes of being in the room we decided to leave and go to another hotel that was a few miles away. The room was dirty and had cock roaches in the bath room and on the counter with the sink. We didn't even bother to ask for a refund because the front desk workers took over 30 minutes to check us in because they were holding their own conversation on about how a lady wanted new towels and how she was being needy, all the time we were standing right in front of the reception desk. I wouldn't recommend this because it is not worth it to sleep in a room with roaches that could possibly come home with you. read more

About a week ago I stayed here for an out of town business trip which I make weekly and I come back to the room to find someone's dress in my room someone's hair and someone's jewelry and a broken off piece of a comb in the bed that was made which mean house keeping came. I asked for no house keeping!! I also tried reaching out to the manger for the whole week he has lacked to call me back. After I arrived with a confirmation letter from Booking.com, Eddie at the front desk was unable to find my reservation. He reassured me (after driving 6 hours with two children) that he would help me figure it out. Eddie ran to the hotel next door after three attempts of calling to see if the reservation was scheduled for the wrong "choice hotel" apparently this happens with Booking.com often. Still nothing. I then called the Booking.com customer service and after sitting on hold for almost 20 minutes, Eddie assisted while I canceled the online reservation and he was able to get me into the room. Customer service is a rough field, however, this man went above and beyond to assure my family was taken care of. We also visited the attached bar and grille. The burgers were amazing!! We came in right before 9:00 and Casey was happy to help us and made every effort to accommodate my children's requests as well! The photos and other reviews grossly mislead me into thinking this would be a good place to stay. The rooms are outdated they have no fridge no microwave and the tv is a old tube box style with blown out speakers. The place has a bar which is filled with degenerates and thugs all also staying on the hotel it seemed. I walked out of my room in the MORNING to start my vacation with my family and the first thing we see are a group of 6-8 teenagers maybe early 20s outside getting drunk and blasting music? We return to the same experience on our way back. The palace just seemed to be the local hangout and not very family friendly and did NOT feel safe in short outdated very minimal rooms, and environment was shady to say the least. Oh and over priced I payed 130 and then paid 2 separate taxes making it 150 a night. Not worth it at all I've paid 100 a night for a suit. read more

The may be the best 2 star hotel in the world. The room was very clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Jackie at the front desk was delightful, friendly and was a pleasure to deal with. The owners were on the property both days, checking to see if things were being done properly. The breakfast was excellent, good service and lots of menu choices. Not bad for the price. Only place in E-city to stay that accepts dogs. Has a nice pool and a good tv channel selection. Customer service has been good as well. Nice room overlooking the pool. It was quiet. the beds were comfortable. It is within close proximity of many stores and restaurants. There was a fridge, coffee maker and hair dryer in the room. It was clean and a good size, not huge but not small. The coffee maker was a K-cup style and there was no way to make our coffee with it. The pool looked nice, we didn't use it though. Breakfast was a limited choice, you get to choose about 5 different options from their restaurant. The restaurant was busy but we got a table right away. The service was a bit slow but there were only 2 servers and they were very nice. We were finishing up and a large group was hovering over our table waiting for us to leave, we did leave a tip for the server and hope they got it. The staff in the hotel was courteous and helpful. It is about 45 minutes from the ocean. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Smoking rooms smelt like mold, pot & cigarettes. We didn't have any other choice cause the non-smoking were booked. Found 1 cockroach, the water running for the bathroom sink was not even worth washing your hands cause the pressure was horrible, and the A/C did not cool the room. When we arrived for checkin I got vibes that this wasn't a good idea. We lasted 1.5 hours before we left the hotel. We watched a drug deal in the back of the hotel, a homeless person asking for money in the parking lot and alot of rifraf hanging out around the hotel. We left immediately with our little children and stayed at another local hotel that was a very safe environment for my family. . I would NOT recommend this hotel. We reserved this hotel as a 1/2 way point to our destination. Thank god for the hotel near by or made our stay amazing or else I would of drove the rest of the way to not have to sleep in this drug infested hotel. I stayed at this location for two nights this past weekend while in town for a wedding. I took a chance even though it had quite a few low ratings because it was in the same town and my other options were about an hour north in Chesapeake or $100 more per night. When I first arrived Friday night, there were quite a few people outside smoking by the lobby... turns out they have a bar with music (and amazing wings I've been told by the locals at the wedding the following day)! I had a pleasant experience with the man running the front desk when I registered. He also told me where to park to be closest to our room, which was around the other side of the hotel on the second floor. Once we got situated in our room, I found the room to be clean and over stocked with towels. We didn't need room service the following day because we had more than enough towels. The free breakfast was a sit down meal with an efficient waitress, who I might add handled the whole room with the help of one busboy. Again, no complaints there. The pool and deck area were clean and my family had the pool to themselves for about an hour in the morning. In the evenings people sat out on the balcony, but they were very respectful of those sleeping and kept their voices low. I had my a/c on low all night and didn't hear anything from outside except maybe a little bit of low noise when the a/c was on economy and shut down at desired temperature. The TV worked great and there was a wide range of channels to select from. There were no incidents or craziness and I got good rest during my stay. It was really a nice weekend stay. I would not only stay here again, I also would recommend it as a lower priced option in this area. read more

My daughter moved into her new college and I Booked through Hotwire because my wife and son with asthma would travel ahead of me...BIG MISTAKE!!! When I called to check on them, I could hear the disgust in my wife's voice. And for my son to complain about a nasty room, it had to be filthy!!! My wife said the room was so smoky and the shower was clogged up. When she complained to the front desk attendant (who should be fired) he told her that since she booked through a 2nd party, there was nothing he could do! So I called him immediately. When I mentioned to him who I was and my dilemma, he said he was checking in guests and put me on hold. I waited and waited. After 10 minutes (I have the screenshots to prove it) I called from another phone and told him who I was . He put me on hold again on that line while I was still on hold on my first phone! I then hung up and called Hotwire.com. After dealing with them for another 10 minutes and then talking to a manager, they were able to contact him and he changed the room. I begged to be switched to another area hotel that was currently listed at the SAME PRICE as the room I paid $103 for, but they wouldn't understand the medical situation at hand and change their room! My first and last time dealing with Hotwire. VERY DISSATISFIED! The room she got did not match up to the description on the website! read more
